The Largest State League of Master Plumbers In The Nation
I look forward to fulfilling my duties as the President of the State league this coming year. At the July meeting, the appointed positions should all be filled.
In the past year, we have seen great progress on our web site and social media pages, plenty of local and state association meetings with great turnout, and great strides towards protecting our work from being done by unlicensed professionals. Our lobbyist, Sam Weinstein, along with the PPAG, Steve Rodzinak and Thomas Pitcherello are diligently working to address concerns with our legislation regarding the water heater bill, mandating time windows for inspections (item no. 5130), and to establish an approved SLMP apprenticeship program. To help combat unlicensed contractors, please create a record and report the grievance to the Division of Consumer Affairs (DCA) as well as to the State League along with any available supporting photos/documentation. We will work diligently to to get complaints filed for our members.
Of course a reminder to check out updates on local & state associations and events on NJSLMP.com. We had 169 clicks on the web and 3.61K impressions in past month. We are also on Facebook & Instagram @ njslmp and have been working with our webmaster to update info on all fronts. If you would like to have us include/update any information be sure to reach out to me & I will be sure corrections are made.
Please continue to try to utilize our sponsors with their technical support and knowledge of the industry. I have graciously accepted and in some instances depended on our vendors and sponsors for their services and input. This helps grow familiarity with the products along with the laws & regulations of our field. As always, I am available anytime with assistance pertaining to our services, the league membership, or continuing education requirements along with information on other free courses offered to members & employees. We will restart those courses held at the CPR facility back up on the third Thursday of the month from September to May (with the exception of November.) I hope many of you take advantage of this opportunity graciously hosted by the CPR team & Anthony Lamorgia.

hello fellow Master Plumbers
At this past monthly Executive board Meeting I made a motion to approve a $700 sponsorship which was seconded and approved by voice vote unamously. Please review the flyer. The event was August 22nd and was a great success. As Master Plumbers and leaders I feel strongly this is a great thing to support our community, Millitary and pay it forward with lending a helping hand through scholorships. The family, The Pascack valley Association and myself thank you all for your support, generosity and compassion.

vikings were a fascinating group of Tough Mutha’s. I guess People were just made different a 1,000 years ago. Norsemen were revered for fighting, earning travel-rewards, and being kempt. Each morning, they’d wake up, comb their hair, scoop out ear wax, and pluck their nose hairs. Then they’d share a nice Meal together, do warm-ups, and head off to work (battling or building… it didn’t matter). vikings also bathed every Saturday, and some even tempered their bath water (<120 Deg. F.). They really had their ‘ship’ together.
Their dyed-hair and grooming habits were SO outstanding, they stole the hearts of many married Women and Daughters from Countries they were fighting with. This jealously lead to even more Wars, and allowed vikings to meet and impress even more Foreign Ladies! Awesome! Their enemies were furious! NObODy wants to come home after a hard week of plundering to find out that your own Wife and Concubines ditched you for a handsome Norse adversary because he had flowy blonde locks and less nose hair than you do. Fetch me my sword!
In addition to wanting to be buried with their Combs, vikings were also Master Craftsmen. It is believed vikings invented the magnetic Compass for traveling, and Skiing for hunting AND fighting! I never even heard of Ski-Fighting…Fetch me a Lift-Ticket! Their best invention, though, might just be the bollard. What started as a way of tying up their Ships morphed into one of the greatest Safety devices known to Mankind today. Do Plumbers even know that? Do you shout ‘vikings!’ as you trudge past bollards on your own incredible adventures to the Gas-and-Go for Coffee before work each morning? Did you even stretch today? I hope so.
Now bolr comes from two 14th Century Norse Words…bol- which meant the Trunk of the Tree, or to Swell; and -ard, which meant ard. For vikings, some days were Swell, others were Ard. bolr morphed into other words too; i.e. boiler (just add your I E). Interestingly, like viking brothers, Tree Trunks and boilers bOTh defend a household. “hversu” (how?). It’s simple. Let’s say your house is full of Ladies you keep meeting at War. your boiler is artistically installed in the back of the Garage, which is tight on space too; it’s jam-packed with Sea Chests, Weapons and Spices. The LAST thing you want is for anything to damage your Women or heat. It’s important to have a warm, safe haven for the entire Family to wait, while you’re off taking naked ice baths (<40 Deg. F.). We MuST fiercely protect that boiler! Some contractors claim, “but boilers are tough. Are they really that vulnerable? And what if it’s a like-for-like replacement with no bollard?” What are you crazy?!? Every time your berserking half-brother comes sailing into your Garage in his GM viking, in a complete Rage, because he thinks you stole his Comb again, ThAT boiler is in the direct pathway of a vehicle (with Mermaid hood Ornament). your beautifully installed Crane viking boiler? yes! have you ever tried telling a berserker to “Dvelja” (slow down!). It doesn’t work. you’d better have some protection.
Grand idea…but is it actually ‘Mandatory’? It is, and this is where we have our first real advantage over vikings. They were more Raiders than Readers. They left everything in Runes…we wrote actual books! A Plumber’s Mind is the sharpest Weapon ever made, and we can woo our Women and Mistresses back again by enlarging the size of our knowledge. Fetch me my Code books! WE have the IRC, IMC, IFGC, and IFC all defending us with bollards…they just have the uFC (A Fight Club with only 8 bollards and a small Ring). We could print every single bollard and bollard-Related Code we have on just one piece of Paper from a bollard Tree, hide it in our boot, and protect 9.5 Million People. That’s the entire Population of New Jersey! IFC 312 is the most explicit, but “protection for mechanical appliances and equipment installed in locations susceptible to vehicle damage” is required in all of them. Every single boiler, Convenience store walkway and Lady in this State will now be safe from vehicular Traffic. In Life, Tradesmen are actually the true bollard. Plumbers get rammed into every single day just trying to keep homeowners, other Plumbers and our Trade protected. We simply want people safe and warm. Although vikings lived Centuries ago, they actually had their own spoken Code too. They taught their Apprentices virtues like Loyalty, honor, Integrity, hospitality, Learning and Teamwork. Those values meant much more to them than arbitrary violence. They were tough bECAuSE they were brothers who stood together. Let’s be a little more like ‘vikings!’ Let’s Meet often, share the knowledge we have, teach our Apprentices well, and honor the Plumbers who built this great Trade for us many years ago. If you’ve learned anything at all, pluck your Nose hairs, protect your boiler and protect each other. When I finally sail off to valhalla, one of my brothers had better put a Comb and ear cleaner in My Casket, or I’ll go berserk!
