Working With Nature
Our connection to the wild guides everything we create. Led by the quiet rhythms of the land, we’ve shaped a way of working that treads gently, restores habitats, and gives back to the place that inspires us every day.
Across the 100 acres surrounding our studio, wildlife flourishes. Wildflower corridors sway with colour, birds nest in sheltered corners, and our rocket bee hive hums with new life. With each passing season, the land grows richer, more diverse, and more alive.
Nature also powers our craft – the wind that dances across our fields, the sunlight warming our rooftops, and the biomass that fuels our production. As a proud B Corp, we’re committed to keeping people, planet, and purpose in perfect balance.
Our Candlemakers
Candle making is an artisan craft; a thoughtful blend of heritage and innovation. In our workshops, traditional skills meet contemporary engineering to transform wild, nature-inspired fragrances into beautiful handmade candles.
Our dinner and small pillar candles are created using remarkable drawing machines, including our original vintage model from the 1940s. Its craftsmanship is so enduring that we worked with a local engineer to build a second – a testament to both Cornish ingenuity and the quiet magic of this time-honoured process.
These machines glide cotton wicks through molten wax, drawing each candle out slowly, layer by delicate layer. Larger pillars take shape in our Moulding Room, where molten wax is poured with precision and care. Once formed, every candle is cut, milled, finished, and handpacked by a skilled candlemaker, each one touched by human hands, shaped with patience, and made to bring calm into your home.
