When Merchandising goes too far!!!
PONDLIFE! In the lead up to the season premiere of Asylum of the Daleks there will be a series of short films focussing on the day to day life of the Ponds when they're not with the Doctor. Speaking of the short episodes, Karen Gillan (Amy Pond) said: “It's kind of everything that happens in-between time travel. “I often wondered what happens between with the companions and this is the episode where we get to see a couple trying to have a domestic married life, but there's this guy keeps on popping into their lives, taking them to space. “It's also about dealing with normal life, having had the experience that they've had and how that affects one emotionally.” Her on-screen husband Arthur Darvill also teased about the episodes that prequel the series: “By the end of it there is a cliffhanger which leads quite nicely into episode one, Asylum of the Daleks.” Pond Life! will feature on the official BBC Doctor Who website from Monday 27th September.
AN ADVENTURE IN TIME AND SPACE In DWV #9, in an article entitled “Things That Have to Happen for Doctor Who's 50th”, I suggested that for Doctor Who's 50th anniversary the BBC should commision a documentary/drama about the creation of the show.

I now have big news... IT'S HAPPENING!!! 'An Adventure in Time and Space' will be a one-off 90 minute drama written by series writer, fan and star Mark Gatiss. He said it will be “the story of how an unlikely set of brilliant people created a true television original”. The show, focusing on the period leading up to it's inception in 1963 (and not it's full 50 years as I suggested), will air in 2013 on BBC Two.
COMING THIS AUTUMN A brand new trailer for the first five episodes of Series Seven, which kicks-off on Saturday 1st September.

RICHARD E. GRANT TO STAR IN XMAS EPISODE Paul McGann's Withnail & I co-star, Richard E. Grant is to star in the Christmas episode of Doctor Who, filming of which begins soon. No details have been released of his character but we do know that this episode will be the first appearance of Jenna Louise Coleman's new companion. This won't be Grant's first appearance in Doctor Who, he played the alternate ninth Doctor in Steven Moffat's Curse of the Fatal Death and again in animated webisode Scream of the Shalka.
