Thank you for reviewing The Gathering 2026 offering. Waukaru’s goal is to help you succeed in the beef industry by providing genetics and practical solutions to improve your profitability. We made this group of bulls better, more predictable, and more suited for the modern beef industry.
This has been a great market for the cow calf sector. Our portion of this global industry has more leverage in the marketplace than ever before. The cow calf sector will continue to have the upper hand for more than the next twenty-four months as the national cowherd slowly starts to rebuild inventory.
Our industry has experienced this market demand for several reasons; the main driver is the dramatic increase in consumer demand. CattleFax calculates consumer beef demand at a 40-year high. The populus loves beef and are more willing than ever to spend their hard earned dollars on beef.
The National Beef Quality Audit identified problem areas and as an industry we have worked to correct them. In 2000, 55% of all slaughter cattle could grade low choice; in 2025, 85% of all slaughter cattle reached the low choice grade or higher. In 2025 more cattle were harvested grading prime than select. Tools and technology have made a higher quality product finding increased consumer demand.
It takes fewer 600-pound steers than ever to offset the cost of a new bull. Randy Blach, CEO of CattleFax, predicts we’ll experience the slowest rebuild of the national cowherd ever, so the cow-calf sector will stay in the driver’s seat for more years than any prior rebuild. Today’s modern Waukaru bull is better suited to this industry than before. The daughters of your next herdsire will be in the prime of their productive life at the next predicted valley in our cyclical market; these will be the cows you will lean on to get to the next rally. These females will pay the largest portion of expenses in the operation. Now is the time to add better bulls that fit into your respective system to prepare for the market unknowns coming six to eight years in the future.
In these pages you find our largest group of herd building sires ever offered. There are more choices in every category: more bulls to breed heifers, more choices to generate replacement females, more options to add ribeye and marbling. These are bulls to make a significant impact in all these areas.
As in the past, the bulls are not highly fit and pampered. They are developed in an open area with access to natural windbreaks and protection. The cowherd is expected to utilize low quality forages and crop residues without unnecessary inputs and management. It is demanded that the cattle here work for their spot, and we do not want to add unnecessary expense to these genetic investments.

We are updating our website with ultrasound information, videos and the listing of the replacement females. For bidding we use the SmartAuctions platform; if you prefer bidding is also available directly through Waukaru.
We are humbled that you take time to investigate genetics at Waukaru. Feel free to reach out anytime with questions or to schedule a visit. Contact Toby Jordan at 219.819.4603 or tojo@ waukaru.net.
Thank You, The Jordans of Waukaru

Billed Accounts: All billed accounts are due within 10 days following the date of the sale. At 10 days, a 2% service charge will be added to the unpaid balance and an additional 2% will be added every 30 days thereafter unless previous arrangements have been made with Waukaru Farms Inc.
Insurance: Insurance will be available for your purchase. Please let us know if you are interested.
Genetic Defects: All bulls selling are free of any known genetic defects. Health: Each bull will be represented by a valid health certificate. Every animal 24 months and older at Waukaru tests negative for Johnes Disease. All bulls selling are up to date on vaccinations and deworming. Waukaru uses a modified live vaccine. Waukaru will test for trichomoniasis if required by state health regulations.
Breeding Status: All bulls have passed a Breeding Soundness Exam performed by the StockVets.
Semen Rights: All bulls sell in their entirety. Waukaru does retain in-herd semen use on every bull. If Waukaru decides to use any of the bulls, it will collect semen at the Sellers cost at a time that is convenient to the owner and with the best safety and care for the bull. All revenues generated by selling semen would be of the new owners, not Waukaru.
Liability: Each bull will be at the buyer’s risk as soon as sold, but will be cared for by Waukaru for a reasonable amount of time. Neither Waukaru nor any of its employees can be responsible for any accidents, but will make every effort possible to provide for the safety of those attending.
Bidding Procedure: This is a “silent chant” online auction. Bidding will open on all bulls at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2025. Increment bids of $250 will be accepted on the bulls, $100 increments on the females. Bidding can be executed through www.smartauctions.auction or by calling Toby Jordan at 219-819-4603 or Barry Jordan at 219- 8190430. Bidding will remain open on all bulls throughout the duration of the sale.

Trucking: Waukaru will make every effort possible to insure safe, convenient, and affordable delivery. Waukaru will share in costs so not to exceed $350 per bull anywhere in USA and ports to Canada and Mexico.

These three bulls teamed up together to win the prestigious Champion Pen of Three title at the 2026 National Western Stock Show this past January in Denver, CO. Judge Sankey commented on how the trio possess the set of traits needed to be profitable in the beef industry: sound, growthy and with real muscle. Waukaru will retain the right to use semen in herd only.

Maui 5029 is a homozygous polled son of Right Design 2018. Of the three, Maui 5029 has the nod for being the boldest chested, most opened up in his rib cage and set the widest in his pins. Maui 5029 is big in his forearm and has
great turn of muscle through his loin and into his hip. Powerful, big
and from a line of females that have had a major impact not only at Waukaru, but throughout the world. Maui 5029 has one maternal brother who heads up a team of bulls in Arizona. His dam is a full sibling to the high selling bull from The Gathering 2024 and is now in Arkansas. On paper, Maui 5029 is hard to replicate for his combination of growth and maternal traits landing above the top 15% for WW, YW, Milk, CEM, STAY, $FEED, and $CPI.

Waukaru Nexus 5051 is a powerhouse. This unique individual is able to combine sheer power and grow into a well built, attractive package. He posted the second highest ever recorded 205-day weight at Waukaru at 894 pounds, which has a ratio of 141 in a 105-head contemporary group. He continued to perform and computed a 365-day weight of 1387 pounds. Nexus 5051 is a study of how to put awe in an attractive package. He is masculine about skull and jaw, long-spined, big featured and beefy in his build. In motion, Nexus 5051 moves like an athlete, with reach and stretch in every stride. Nexus 5051 has one maternal brother, who is in Mississippi anchoring a team of bulls. Nexus 5051 lands above the top 1% of the population for growth while being well above average for both REA and MARB.
Waukaru Exceed 5054 has surpassed all expectations. This is the first son to be offered of Byland Capstone 3TD114. We are very confident that Capstone will be extremely impactful with continued heavy use here at Waukaru. Exceed 5054 is the most ruggedly constructed, heaviest boned of the offer. I admire the depth and circumference of his dark hoof and the reach he has in his joints. Exceed 5054 is bold and masculine in his muzzle and jaw, wide in his chest, and is built like a herdsire is to be built. From behind, the width and shape over his rib and into his hip and stifle is noteworthy. His dam traces to the dam of Waukaru Latigo 0033 with a shot of western Canadian and Australian genetics.

Waukaru Liberty 5089 is bold and wide down his top with great muscle shape through his rump and lower portions of his quarter. I admire the extension up front, the levelness down his top and symmetry. Liberty 5089 has been impressive every day and posted a weaning ratio of
120 and yearling at 109.

Waukaru Inspire 5090 is a big time performer and ready to work. At weaning, Inspire 5090 pushed down to just under 800 pounds for a 205-day ratio of 125, then at yearling nearly made 1400 pounds to ratio 106. Waukaru Inspire 5090 was our lead bull in the Reserve Champion Pen of Five at the 2026 National Western Stock Show in Denver. His dam, a go-to female here has a son in the Texas Panhandle and another in North Carolina; she has a combined weaning ratio of 112 on four progeny and 107 for yearling. Tender Kiss 9217 is an impressive, broody type of female. She is big barreled and attractive in her udder design; she weighed 1305 last fall at weaning with a BCS of five, and she had just turned six.

Waukaru Polestar 5120 aligns things phenotypically that define quality. Polestar 5120 is stout featured in his skull, his neck comes out of top of his blade, he’s long and level down his top, and is nearly ideal in his hip and tailhead set. From the side, he is faultless. In motion, Polestar 5120

Waukaru Vantage 5125 combines a series of traits more effectively than previously understood. Vantage 5125 strikes you first with the masculinity through his skull and crest, being wide in his muzzle, stout and pronounced in his jaw. Vantage 5125 is big in his forearm, wide and thick topped, and explodes with shape in his rump and quarter. Being nearly ideal in the depth and outward reach of rib, and especially full in his forerib, gives him the nod that he will yield easy fleshing cattle, just as both his sire and dam. The genetic profile is unmatched, ranking well above the top third of the population for all traits, including above the top 1% for growth. The female line that generates this herd bull has been at Waukaru for over 40 years. Vantage 5125 has three maternal brothers; all have sold through previous The Gathering events and are in use in Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana. Also, a maternal sister is a donor female for Jeff Bedwell and Aspen Soules of Oklahoma.

Waukaru Calrossie 5102 is a boldly built, big ribbed sire that presents with great shape and expression of muscle. Calrossie 5102 is full and bulging in his forearm, big backed, and stout hipped. His dam is a moderately sized, attractively designed female that is square in her udder.

Waukaru Windfall 5133 is an eye-catching, wellbalanced bull that is a grandson of the Australian import, Spry’s Gigabyte N122. Windfall 5133 is wide and expressive over his rib and loin, and explodes with muscle into his hip and stifle.
We are excited about the three runs of commercial heifers we’re adding to this line-up. On offer will be 15 fall calving bred heifers and 30 open spring yearlings. These heifers will sell in the same format as the bulls on SmartAuctions. If the new owner chooses, the open yearling heifers could be left at Waukaru to be synchronized and artificially inseminated; call for details.

A powerful set of spring-born brood cow prospects come from Sproul Livestock in northwest Oklahoma at Isabella. These cattle were born and developed on land that has been in their family since the Land Run of 1893. Sproul Livestock is a commercial cow-calf operation focused on developing high quality replacement females and markettopping steer calves. The cow herd is comprised of moderate sized, Red Angus and Red Angus x Shorthorn females who offer plenty of capacity and depth of body. The red sandhills of Major County, OK, require cattle to be sound, while the limited rainfall and feed resources demand efficiency. The Waukaru bull genetics utilized have proven to complement Sprouls’ program by maximizing both the maternal and growth characteristics necessary for a profitable operation. This group of heifers are sired by sons of Thermal Energy and Prime Time Teddy.
New this year is a set of fall calving bred heifers from Dave Mooney in southwest Missouri. Dave runs Angus, Hereford and Shorthorn bulls on his British cowherd over the shallow soils and fescue. Dave is discerning and thorough when selecting bulls of any breed. He uses Angus bulls from Sitz of Montana, and Mead and Willard, both of Missouri. Hereford genetics are sourced from Line 1 cattle from Oleen Brothers of Kansas. These heifers were covered by Waukaru Right Design 2018 and are expected to start calving the first of September and finish at the end of October.
Again this year, we offer a fancy set of spring-born females from Randy Bulington of Monon, IN. Randy started buying Waukaru bulls over 20 years ago, and has converted his Angus and Hereford-based cowherd to Shorthorn by keeping back the best Shorthorn-sired daughters. This set of females are all sired by a son of Spry’s Gigabytes N122 that was a sale feature in The Gathering 2024. The Bulington cowherd summers on mixed fescue pasture on droughty sand and a bit of Reed’s Canary Grass in some wet areas. Often the cattle will be supplemented with plant by-products to get to the available cornstalk and rye winter grazing ground. For videos and more information on the heifers, visit www.waukaru.net.
