We are excited to showcase and offer to you not only the proven, reliable genetics that you come to expect, but also new, cutting-edge breeding pieces that we literally have searched the world to incorporate into the program. This will be the first offering of sons of the new Australian import sire, Spry’s Gigabytes N122, and these bulls are going to be vital in producing better beef. Our search for cattle that excel in both marbling and ribeye, have growth, are sound and still please the eye aimed us directly at this new sire. We understand that your next breeding sire will be responsible to solve more problems, streamline and make herds more efficient, have more convenience traits and drive profit higher in order for any and all of us to continue with these endeavors about which we are passionate. It is an exciting time to be a cow calf producer. As the national cowherd continues to shrink, we will have more leverage than in the recent past. According to CattleFax, from 2020 to 2021, on average $12 dollars were added per hundred to every 550-pound steer calf. They predict to add another $35 in 2022. Those steers will be worth $258 dollars more this fall than they were two years ago. But the premium for high quality cattle will be even greater. Consumer demand for our wholesome product, beef, increased by 5% in 2021 with record high retail prices due to Covid challenges. Now the gate is open. Many have expanded into marketing beef directly to the consumer. These folks all tell the same story of barely being able to satisfy the growing demand for the highest quality beef; price point is seldom even discussed. We pledge to continue to seek out genetics that put you in the driver’s seat of these quickly changing markets. We will continue to pressure the cowherd at Waukaru to produce bulls and seedstock that will work for the owners, be convenient and have longevity. TERMS & CONDITIONS Billed Accounts: All billed accounts are due within 10 days following the date of the sale. At 10 days, a 2% service charge will be added to the unpaid balance and an additional 2% will be added every 30 days thereafter unless previous arrangements have been made with Waukaru Farms Inc. Insurance: Insurance will be available for your purchase at the sale through Harding & Harding. Let the clerks know of your needs at the settlement desk. Genetic Defects: All bulls selling are free of any known genetic defects. Health: Each bull will be represented by a valid health certificate. Every animal 24 months and older at Waukaru tests negative for Johnes Disease. All bulls selling are up to date on vaccinations and deworming. Waukaru uses a modified live vaccine. Waukaru will test for trichomoniasis if required by state health regulations. Breeding Status: All bulls have passed a Breeding Soundness Exam performed by the StockVets. Semen Rights: All bulls sell in their entirety. Waukaru does retain in-herd semen use on every bull. If Waukaru decides to use any of the bulls, it will
collect semen at the Sellers cost at a time that is convenient to the owner and with the best safety and care for the bull. All revenues generated by selling semen would be of the new owners, not Waukaru. Liability: Each bull will be at the buyer’s risk as soon as sold, but will be cared for by Waukaru for a reasonable amount of time. Neither Waukaru nor any of its employees can be responsible for any accidents, but will make every effort possible to provide for the safety of those attending. Bidding Procedure: This is a “silent chant” online auction. Bidding will open on all bulls at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2022. Increment bids of $250 will be accepted on the bulls, $100 increments on the females. These two guys are very similar; it has been fun listening to the discussions over which is the best and why.
