We were inspired to create The Great Shorthorn Revival in 2001 on a sale weekend trip with Clint Tomson, age 92 at that time.
Clint was a Shorthorn man from birth, an international show judge, salesman extraordinaire, and he served as Executive Secretary of American Shorthorn Association from 1941 to 1951. He left the association to join his boyhood Shorthorn friend Frank Harding, and Frank’s father F.W. Harding, in forming American Live Stock Insurance Co., but Clint never left behind his love for the breed he helped make great.
Steve kicked off two days of discussion with a great question that had perplexed him for some time, “Clint, how are we going to get Shorthorn breeders to focus again on the cow families that made the breed great?”
Without hesitation, Clint held forth with a marketing lesson like none we’d ever had. He started with, “Steve, you’re going to have to create an ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY. You can’t just tell people the cow families are important. You have to show them! And show them right in their pocketbook, where it counts the most!”
It is our privilege to launch the 25th year of Revival Sales and we will be honored for you to join us on-site or online!
Presenting...
The greatest variety of desirable, marketable genetics from proven cow families on the Shorthorn scene today.
A wide range of Shorthorn investment options that will improve your herd, and increase in value.
An opportunity to see the results of cutting edge genetics to help make future mating decisions.
A networking event to create profitable connections with leading breeders and marketing agents.
A fun and memorable experience, with good cattle and good people, that you and your family will enjoy!
The Third Dam of Lot 1 was offered as a Choice Lot by Alden Farms in the 2003 Revival Sale. LCCC won the bid and our pick was AF SL Mirage 336 (Trump x NPS Mirage 544). I mated 336 to Rodeo Drive and she produced Little Cedar Mirage 808 ET, 2009 National Junior Shorthorn Show Grand Champion. We greatly appreciate the efforts of the Winegardner Family!

I really liked Jerry Lorenz's Big Daddy Jazz when I saw him at Louisville, imagining mating him to the Rodeo Drive daughter Mirage 808.
That mating resulted in Mirage 1414 and he has produced many good daughters for us. The best to date is 2145, by Current Commodity, featured as Lot 1! You will appreciate the overall balance of Mirage 2145, especially when you see the Direct Deposit daughter she produced — Lot 1A!
I flushed 2145 once (to Direct Deposit) and she froze eight embryos. She's bred back to Direct Deposit with heifer semen. You can't ever produce TOO MUCH of a really good thing!

We committed a BIG TIME HEIFER to the Springtime Revival this year, especially for NJSS in Abilene, Texas – seven hours from the ranch in Arkansas! Buyer's Bonus: If the family who buys Lot 1A would like to layover at Belle Point, they'll be more than welcome!
It's gonna take a really good one to get around this December daughter of Direct Deposit and Mirage 2145! Her depth of body and big hip are two of her best assets, along with her soundness – she moves like a cat! Mirage DD 2576 is a heifer you can show for two years, and then she'll build your breeding program!

"Pinky" stands as one of the most cherished IMPACT DONORS in our breeding program!
This extraordinary female had an unforgettable and highly decorated show career under the guidance of Kolten, and highlighted by her remarkable sweep of the 2023 National Western Stock Show, where she was crowned Grand Champion Female in both the Junior and Open Show – an achievement reserved for truly elite individuals, further underscoring the strength of this cow family. Her full sister, GCC Red Diva, captured those same prestigious titles at the National Western Stock Show the following year cementing the "Roo" influence as a dominant force within the breed.
Beyond Denver, Pinky continued to build an impressive resume by being 5th Overall Female at NJSS, and added a Grand Champion Shorthorn Female banner at the Ohio State Fair in both the Junior and Open Shows. Her combination of quality, balance and breed characteristics made her a fan favorite everywhere she competed.
The excellence has translated seamlessly into production where her first two ET calves averaged an impressive $32,000 in our production sale validating her long term worth as a donor. Headlining the sale was GCC Evolving Pinky " Pinky Up," a $50,000 highlight who went on to be named Reserve Grand Champion Bred & Owned at both 2025 NJSS and NAILE last fall. The Lot 2A mating to the multi-champion CF In Demand should generate breed leading females.

Open Show Judge Lydell Meier described Diva as “a unique Shorthorn female with body and mass in a sound, attractive package” before selecting her Reserve Grand Champion Female at the 2024 North American.
At Denver, she was Grand Champion Female in both the Junior and Open Shows (and where her full sister claimed the same honors at the same show in 2023). Red Diva The Roo was the “conversation heifer” throughout her show seasons, exhibited by Kolten Greenhorn to win 2023 NAILE Division Champion as a calf, 2024 NJSS Division Champion, and 2024 Ohio State Fair Grand Champion Junior and Open.
Her first calf commanded $10,000 in our sale last fall, selected by Garrett LaCroix. Rarely does one have the opportunity to acquire genetics out of this famed cow family mated to the multiple champion CF In Demand. Look for her exciting daughters coming this fall.

The Max Rosa family stands among the most prominent and influential maternal lines in the Shorthorn breed. Known for consistency, phenotype, and productivity, this lineage continues to leave its mark both in the show ring and in the pasture.
Lot 6 is entering the prime of her production years, and her impressive heifer calf is proof of the job she can do. Max Rosa 0201 is long-bodied and extended in her design, combining femininity with structural correctness and brood cow power.
Her heifer calf by Universal, Lot 6A, is boldribbed, sound-structured, and especially attractive through her front third. She carries herself with balance and presence, showing the kind of quality and eye appeal that makes for a very competitive future in the show ring as well as a productive role in the pasture.

Lot 8 is a high capacity, balanced heifer that has shown tremendous growth and performance without sacrificing a bit of structural correctness. Her dam has sheer mass and length of spine, as most from the Kendra cow family do. Two maternal sisters have sold in previous Revival Sales – 2420 sold to DeLisle Farms for $10,000 in the 2024 Fall Revival and 2429 sold to Mark Barley in the 2025 Fall Revival, both were sold as bred heifers. It's evident that Look Ahead is producing thick ones, just like Cabrera (maternal grandsire) did. Kendra 2503 should be a game changer!

We think Look Ahead on the top side makes this heifer a herd building anchor performing in show, pasture and pedigree. She has been very easy to work with for us.
We don’t have many summer calves but, when we do, we’ve been fortunate to have some pretty darn good ones. Our first July heifer was also our first AllAmerican back in 1998. She was from the same cow family that PET-NBS Flyboy traces back to. Our second July heifer was a granddaughter of Flyboy, NBS Regal Daphne, who won her division for Kaden Gana at 2023 NJSS in Des Moines. She is the donor dam of Lot 10.

That's Joe's direct quote describing this Equator daughter! Equator is really impressing us with the thickness of his calves. Note that Lot 12 was raised by a first calf heifer. Her great top shape carries all the way through her hip. She is big-footed, easy-fleshing, boasts a big barrel and depth of body, yet impressively solid and smooth-sided from shoulder to flank. A petite, feminine head adds that extra WOW shot to her powerful frame. The red in her roan is very dark and unique. Tons of hair and gentle by nature.

When he headlined the annual Durhams in the Dakotas sale in late January 2026, Outback was stated to be one of the best, if not THE best, Shorthorn bulls ever to bear the JSF prefix. With a sale price that totalled a whopping $320,000, McKenzie Ranch and Cates Farms stepped up to garner possession, a host of progressive-minded breeders invested in semen shares, and Shadybrook Shorthorns acquired Outback's Canadian semen rights.
Outback's five-year-old dam, JSF Princess 15J, ranks above average for EVERY measured trait in Shorthorn genetic evaluation. She is practical in her design and very feminine, with an ideal udder. Breed history enthusiasts may recall 15J's maternal 3rd dam, K-Kim Princess 114P, who produced 21 registered offspring and was the last female Kevin Kimmerling ever sold. 114P produced JSF Compass, sire of numerous excellent daughters for the Jungels' breeding program. Princess 15J's inspired mating to Ronelle Park Slurpie, the well-known Australian phenom, resulted in a stunning and powerful beef bull ranking in the top percentiles for growth, marbling, milk and stayability EPDs. Outback's extraordinary sale price has brought on a flourish of attention for both the JSF program and the Shorthorn breed.

JUNGELS SHORTHORN FARM – ESTABLISHED 1953
Jungels Shorthorn Farm started in 1953 with the purchase of a registered Shorthorn heifer from the famous Hammer Shorthorn Herd of Hannaford, ND. By 1970, the herd grew to a base of 50 purebred females. In 1974, the EM DEE herd was purchased from Melvin Dronen of Finley, ND. The DEE prefixed cattle carry some influence back to the original EM DEE cows. The origin of some females dates back to 1929. In 1999 when Derek returned to the family operation and efforts commenced to expand purebred cattle marketing, all cattle began to be registered with the JSF prefix. At that time, the herd aggressively expanded and began marketing Shorthorn cattle to a more diverse customer base. Intense emphasis was placed on fleshing ability, fertility, and longevity. The cattle at JSF are raised in a ranch setting, are expected to calve on their own, flesh easily and breed back.
Today, JSF hosts the largest Shorthorn & Shorthorn-Influenced bull and female sales in the world. JSF bulls are breeding cows in 44 states, all Canadian provinces, and worldwide via AI. For the last 18 years, the farm has been designated a member of the American Shorthorn Association Century Club, and, for the last five consecutive years, JSF has registered more Shorthorn cattle than any other operation in North America. In the spring of each year they develop commercial and purebred heifers sourced from bull customers, later marketing them as bred heifers. In addition to maintaining a purebred operation, JSF feeds cattle in their 999-head feedlot, sourcing and backgrounding steer calves from customers.
Recently launched Northland Sires Inc. (NSI) is owned by Derek & Brock Jungels whose vision is to provide cattle producers across the Northern Plains with convenient, reliable, and affordable bovine semen collection and storage services.

When we saw Lassie 1075 as a bred heifer, we knew she had tremendous potential as a foundation donor for the future of Miller Farms Shorthorns, established in 1908. Greatness runs in 1075’s family. Her dam, Waukaru Lassie 2024 (pictured above), is the matriarch at Bowman Superior Genetics with over 90 progeny in the Shorthorn registry. In fact, Lassie 2024’s influence extends nationwide in the U.S., as well as in Canada, Europe, and Australia.

Since Lassie 1075’s first calving, she has proved us right with her ability to throw powerhouse bulls and showstopping females. At the 2026 Cattlemen’s Congress EDGE Show, her progeny earned Reserve Grand Champion EDGE Female and Grand Champion EDGE Bull. Additionally at 2026 Cattlemen’s Congress, two bulls in Miller Farms’ Grand Champion Pen of Three Bulls were flushmate sons of 1075. MILLER FARMS SHORTHORNS – ESTABLISHED 1908
Miller Farms Shorthorns was founded by Stanley Miller and managed by his daughter, Lydia Lou O’Brien, until 2022 when her nephew, Terry Quam and his family, purchased the herd. As an early pioneer in the beef industry, Stanley’s Shorthorn herd can be traced back to 1908. Lydia Lou passed away September 12, 2024 at age 93. In 2025, the Lydia Lou O’Brien Miller Farms Scholarship was established through the Shorthorn Foundation by nine nieces and nephews of Lydia Lou in memory of her passion for the Shorthorn breed and her dedication to helping young Shorthorn breeders. The Quam family is proud to carry on the Shorthorn tradition founded by their grandfather and great grandfather, and perpetuated by our aunt, Lydia Lou.

Demi 6100 is backed by more than banners – she offers impeccable feet, a beautifully constructed udder, and a proven production record.
Lot 18A has the presence and pedigree to follow in her dam’s footsteps. She has a striking side profile that naturally commands attention, combining balance and style with structural correctness. She pairs that look with a quiet disposition, making her a pleasure to work with.

Lot 31 carries forward that same legacy and, bred to Inferno, she is poised to continue the tradition of quality and reliability. She offers a unique and thoughtfully constructed pedigree from top to bottom. The added performance influence of Byland Flash complements the strength and consistency of the Margie cow family exceptionally well.
Watch for her video on CCi.Live, Margie 245 is extremely balanced in her design, combining structural correctness with length, femininity, and overall eye appeal. Study the layers of her pedigree and you’ll see her potential as a long term building block. BFS Margie LL 950 was the crowd favorite at Louisville and Oklahoma City, and was named Reserve Grand Champion at the 2021 Cattlemen’s Congress.

This former show heifer is an even more impressive cow. She is the mother of Direct Deposit, 2024 Cattlemen’s Congress Grand Champion. John Allen, III began showing Shorthorns at age 10 at NJSS 1984 in Louisville. He developed through the Shorthorn youth program and was elected president of the AJSA Junior Board in 1992. His three sons are now coming up in the breed and working together to carry on 66 years of Armstrong Farms. (They also, somehow, make time for competing at high levels in sports and making good grades! All credit to their mom Aly for that.) Eldest son Jay will graduate in May from Clemson University and he’s currently Fundraising Director on the AJSA Junior Board. Middle son Ben stepped up a few years ago and began taking all the photos of Armstrong Farms’ sale lots. The youngest, Henry, has the show bug too. That’s him with the NJSS Third Overall Bred & Owned Champion banner in 2020, the last time the show was in Abilene. John stated: “We’re going back to Abilene this summer because we believe in the AJSA program for its unique role in youth development. We know firsthand how much fun it can be for kids, and parents too. I encourage families to get involved and get all that’s available to you through AJSA.”

Sara Rose 8193, the full sister to Solution and Right Direction. Sara 2519 is an exceptionally stylish female that will be a force in the ring and the donor pen. She is well put together with a nice front end that ties an elegant, feminine head into a smooth clean neck.
Sara 2519’s dam was purchased in the 2014 Revival Sale and has been a great donor for us. Now 12 years old, 1435 is still going strong with a perfect udder and structure – exactly the kind we all want. We predict her daughter will be the same!
SIRE and DAM of Lot 38 were BOTH features of past Revival Sales
Lot 38’s sire, Trademark, is owned by Cornerstone Farms, purchased from the 2023 Springtime Revival at side of his dam (see her on page 56). He is producing great calves for us and semen is currently on the market at Cattle Visions.

Josh loved Rose Mary’s Song when she was shown and he worked out a deal with Samantha VanVorhis and her family to flush this EXCEPTIONAL champion by Red Reward and out of the powerful Rose Mary 636-2. Red Reward daughters are some of the breed’s most influential females and the Lot 39 mating of Rose Mary’s Song to CF In Demand should produce some EXCEPTIONAL maternal seedstock. Thanks to Samantha for her time, talent and enthusiasm serving as AJSA President. She is an EXCEPTIONAL example of the success of our youth program!

Granddam KSS Stockman's Fool 226 came to us as an embryo bred by Fred Ripberger. She is now about 13 years old and still has a great udder and feet. She has produced many great show quality calves for us, including this heifer's dam.
Lot 44 is sired by CSF KSS Trademark 1872, who was purchased by Cornerstone Farms at side of his dam in the pair that topped the 2023 Springtime Revival at $26,000. He is now an AI sire proving his value with his quality progeny. Semen is available at Cattle Visions
Fancy Fool 2514 is long-fronted and blends seamlessly from her smooth shoulder into her feminine neck which gives her that "look at me" presence from the profile.

Her added power, structural integrity, and exceptional docility make her an ideal candidate to make the trip to Abilene this summer. She has the presence, look, and disposition that will make her competitive in the ring and a pleasure to work with every day.
THE KILMIHILLS – PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE
The Kilmihill cow family arrived in the United States in 1976 and found their home at Alden Farms in 1978, where they were carefully maintained for decades, producing generations of cattle that would define the Shorthorn breed, most notably AF Deepark Kilmihill, the dam of the National Champion AF Warrior 195. Through forward-looking collaboration, the Kilmihill cow family continues its legacy at Vaughn Farms, where Adalynn, Alden, and Axton are proud to be the fourth generation of the Alden family to raise Shorthorn cattle, learning life's most valuable lessons through their participation in the AJSA. Vaughn Farms advances the breed beyond the showring by partnering with SYDF to bring Red White and Roan snacks (100% Shorthorn snack sticks and summer sausage) to customers across the United States. The AF VF prefix signifies a commitment to honor the strategic foundation laid before them while innovating for a stronger tomorrow. The Kilmihill cow family is not simply a bloodline; it is a commitment of four generations of family, purpose, and an unwavering dedication to the Shorthorn breed.
Continuing the Kilmihill tradition, she's got the LOOK and she's built to LAST!

On paper, she offers a well-balanced EPD profile, adding predictability and value to her phenotypic quality. Easy-fleshing with added look and presence, she combines practicality with eye appeal. She's the kind that catches attention in the ring and has the ability to go to work in the pasture.

Success Story #1: I bought the dam of Lot 47 from KSS in the Revival last September. The fancy daughter she presented in November is gonna make a show heifer for sure, and a front pasture cow to boot! 2577 stems from the great SS Augusta Pride 3127 (the matriarch of the dynasty!) and you don't find many of those any more. Beautiful heifer – get her in your show barn and start having FUN!

Sale Management
REVIVAL DOCUMENTATION OF TERMS • For lots in which future fulfillment is a factor (ie. retained rights and retained percentage ownership), the Revival prepares a document that outlines the original sale terms and is retained on file in case of a dispute.
REVIVAL EMBRYO PACKAGE TERMS
• If implanted by a certified embryologist, all embryo lots are guaranteed to produce at least one pregnancy, or one replacement embryo will be provided. Embryos must be implanted, and replacement claim made, within a calendar year from purchase date. Complete settlement must be made in order for embryos to be released. Shipping arrangements and costs are the responsibility of the buyer. Buyer must contact the consignor directly within 30 days of the sale to make embryo shipping arrangements. Consignors cannot be expected to store embryos for you longer than 30 days unless you have personally made arrangements with them to do so.
PREGNANCY INSURANCE
• The Revival strongly encourages buyers of pregnancy lots to invest in pregnancy insurance. The policy covers a live birth and the first weeks of life. For current rate of heifer pregnancy insurance contact the insurance agents listed by April 27, 2026.
RETAINED FLUSH RIGHTS
• Sellers who have retained the right to flush a specific female are responsible for all expenses and the coordination of services (timing and location) at the buyer’s convenience. It is not unusual to conduct multiple ET sessions (conventional or IVF) to achieve the minimum quantity of embryos desired.
DNA GENOTYPING & GENETIC TESTING
• A DNA genotype is utilized in establishing parentage, determining the presence of a genetic condition, and to produce genomically enhanced EPDs (GE-EPDs). Animals do not have to be DNA genotyped, or free of a genetic condition, to be registered. However, if an animal becomes an A.I. sire or donor dam all required genetic testing must be completed and a DNA record must be on file with ASA prior to registering any progeny. Buyers are urged to consult the association website for the most up-to-date test results for all genetic conditions.
Making a purchase in the Great Shorthorn Revival creates the eligibility to consign to future sales. Contact Steve French to
