APPLICATION PROCESS

English Teacher

• Permanent Fulltime

• Significant teaching opportunity commencing January, 2026

Mr Mark Bonnici invites suitably qualified and experienced teachers to indicate their interest and willingness to fulfil this position. The successful candidate will be a contemporary practitioner with qualifications and experience teaching English across Stages 4 – 6 including HSC English. Experience or a willingness to participate in professional learning to be able to effectively teach HSC English Extension 1 and 2 is desirable.

The successful applicant will work within a team of professional staff in a technology-rich learning environment. Applicants must be innovative and have demonstrable ICT skills, be supportive of the College Catholic ethos and be prepared to participate in the co-curricular life of the College.

Applicants are asked to provide:

1. A completed Employment Application form available on College website.

2. A one-page letter outlining reasons for your interest in the position

3. A Curriculum Vitae highlighting recent professional learning experiences, including two referees including current employer

4. A statement addressing the essential criteria for the position outlined below. Please limit your response to no more than 5 pages.

Essential Criteria

The position requires a person who:

• Has an affinity with and appreciation for the charism of Blessed Edmund Rice and the EREA Charter Touchstones.

• Demonstrates excellent knowledge and understanding of current Australian Curriculum developments, especially as they relate to English syllabus documents across Stages 4-6.

• Can demonstrate the necessary knowledge, experience and qualifications to teach Stage 6 English.

• Has a strong ability to collaborate with others and make a positive contribution to the English faculty.

• Demonstrates competence and confidence in the effective use of technologies to enhance student learning in a one-to-one device learning environment.

• Can demonstrate an excellent understanding of contemporary evidence based pedagogical practice.

• Demonstrates an ability to relate positively with students, staff and parents and a willingness to work as part of an inclusive community.

• Ability and willingness to contribute to cocurricular activities.

Desirable Criteria

• Can demonstrate experience or a willingness to participate in professional learning to be able to effectively teach HSC English Extension 1 and Extension 2.

Commencement

The successful applicant will commence this permanent full-time position at the beginning of Term 1, 2026.
