Assistant Leader of Learning Science

Principal Mark Bonnici invites suitably qualified and experienced teachers to indicate their interest and willingness to fulfil this position. This position is a permanent full time role supporting quality teaching and learning in a thriving educational setting.
The role of the Assistant Leader of Learning –Science is to promote the College and Edmund Rice ethos through strategic leadership of the College learning agenda in collaboration with the Science Leader of Learning and teaching staff. In so doing, the Assistant Leader of Learning – Science demonstrates an affinity with the Catholic philosophy and values as expressed in the Charter for Edmund Rice Schools and promotes excellence in teaching and learning practices especially as they relate to the education of boys. The Assistant Leader of Learning reports to the Science Leader of Learning.
The Assistant Leader of Learning – Science is an excellent teacher in terms of knowledge of contemporary teaching methodology, creativity and innovation, classroom management, methods of evaluation and professional development.
Applicants are asked to provide:

3. A Curriculum Vitae with two referees including current employer.
4. A statement addressing the essential requirements below (please limit your response to no more than five pages).
The position requires a person who:
• Has an affinity with and appreciation for the charism of Blessed Edmund Rice and the EREA Charter Touchstones.
• Actively promotes their key area of responsibility and its positive contribution to the life of the college.
• Can demonstrate an excellent understanding of contemporary educational research on pedagogical approaches to enhance student learning within the Key Learning Area.
• Can demonstrate an ability to assist the Leader of Learning in leading professional learning of teachers within the KLA, providing evaluation, feedback and support of teaching practice
• Demonstrates competence, confidence and leadership in the effective use of technologies to enhance student learning in a one-to-one learning environment.
• Can demonstrate successful leadership utilising effective organisational, administrative and interpersonal skills.
• Can demonstrate an ability to relate positively with students, staff, parents and the wider community, and a willingness to work in a collaborative team.
The successful applicant will commence this permanent full-time position in Term 2, 2026.
