READING NEWSLETTER March 2026 At St Chris, we prioritise reading to ensure every student can read confidently for pleasure and progress. Welcome to our Termly newsletter. We hope this will help you support your child with their reading at home.

“Book in a Box” Family Challenge A creative, discussion-based activity that builds inference, analysis and vocabulary - without feeling like homework. Read 15–30 minutes together (or separately).

KS3 Recommendation

Choose 5 objects from around the house that symbolise: A character A theme A turning point A setting An important quotation Put them in a box. Prepare to explain your choices in 2–3 sentences each. Optional twist: Write one key quotation on the object. Include one “mystery object” and see if others can guess what it represents.
