Our IV Group (Year 10) students have been busy getting ready for our first Mock Interview Day next week.
The students have ‘applied’ for fictional jobs, learning how to write application letters and CVs. In their PSHE lessons, they have practised interview techniques, explored the types of questions they might be asked, and considered how to approach an interview with confidence.
We wish them all the very best with this fun and enriching opportunity to develop early career skills.

Every year, the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh runs free lectures for young people who are considering a career in medicine. These lectures can be attended in person at the College's Queen Street premises, watched via livestream, or viewed on catch-up any time after the event.

Opportunities
Armed Forces Day takes place each year on the last Saturday each June, this year it will take place on 27th June. It is a chance to show your support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving personnel to Service families, veterans and cadets.
Events marking Armed Forces Day 2026 will take place across the country. Find the events in our area by using this map and scrolling through the list to discover what’s happening and when.
The Cadet Forces (Sea Cadets, Volunteer Cadet Corps, Army Cadets, Air Cadets and the Combined Cadet Force) currently number over 135,000 cadets and 25,000 adult volunteers in more than 3,000 locations across the UK. The Cadet Forces provide the opportunity for young people to develop key life and career-building skills, and gain valuable vocational qualifications.

If the RAF is of interest to you, you can take part in this online work experience to explore the organisation's purpose, history, people, and the vital role it plays in protecting the UK and supporting operations around the world Throughout the course, you will discover how the RAF is structured, the wide range of careers and professions within the organisation, and the values that guide its people. You will also gain insight into life in the RAF, including training, career progression, pay and benefits, and the opportunities available through apprenticeships and graduate pathways.

Military Intelligence Officer
A military intelligence officer is a commissioned leader responsible for analysing information about enemy forces, terrain, and weather to guide military operations. They manage teams of analysts, read data from satellites and human sources, and brief commanders to minimise risks and ensure mission success
Salaries within the Army are competitive and increase with rank, skill, and specialised trades Starting pay for Soliders is £27,282, rising to £35,310 for a Lance Corporal and £40,989 for a Corporal. Officer cadets start at £35,925 per year, moving to £42,948 as a 2nd Lieutenant, £54,716 as a Captain, and £68,624 as a Major Source

Whether you’re thinking about university, apprenticeships, work, or still figuring it all out, this session will give you practical steps you can start using right now. th
Four paid one-month internship opportunities are available this year at Mount Street's London office across four business areas: Asset Surveillance EMEA, Primary Servicing CRE EMEA, Corporate Debt and Structured Finance, and Marketing and Communications. These paid internships are designed to provide participants with practical, structured experience within a single team, offering valuable insight into day-to-day working life in the City The internship runs from 3–28 August 2026 and pays £15 per hour Students interested in applying should submit a CV and cover letter by 12 July 2026. Initial conversations will take place with an Academy representative, with suitable candidates then put forward for interviews at Mount Street, which will be held in the final weeks of July. Egypt’s higher education system is the largest in the Middle East, offering a blend of historic public institutions and modern international branch campuses.
Tuition for international students is typically very affordable, ranging from $2,000 to $5,000 annually.
Degrees are offered in both Arabic and English.
Non-Egyptian applicants apply through the Wafedeen office the foreign students department under the Egyptian Bureau for Cultural & Educational Affairs. Some private institutions will ask you to apply directly. Egyptian universities run a two-semester year, with the main September intake as the entry point for almost all international students. Apply four to nine months ahead of your intended start, especially through the Wafedeen channel as it requires document apostille, certified Arabic translations, and ministry-level approval, which can take months.
