Participate in Moon Camp and design a space habitat! Take on a new space adventurer role and design a habitat on the lunar surface or go beyond the Moon and explore other worlds in our Solar System. Find classmates or friends to join your team and a teacher, educator or parent that can supervise and submit your team’s project. Select the topic and format that best fits your team and get creative! Moon Camp is a partnership between ESA and the national ESEROs and the Airbus Foundation All teams that submit a project will receive a participation certificate and will be invited to the final online livestream event with an astronaut.

The CanSat competition provides you with the opportunity to have practical experience working on a small-scale space project. You are tasked with designing and building your own simulation of a real satellite, integrated within the volume and shape of a soft drink can. The challenge for you to fit all the major subsystems found in a satellite, such as power, sensors and a communication system, into this minimal volume. CanSat teams will be invited to launch events across the UK to launch their CanSats on small rockets!

On the ESA Education YouTube channel you can find a variety of videos to inspire and engage your students, from how-to guides and explainers, to experiments, interviews with space experts, and exclusive behind-thescenes footage from ESA.

An Astrobiologist studies the origin, evolution, and distribution of life in the universe, investigating how life begins and adapts to extreme environments to determine the potential for life elsewhere. They work across disciplines, combining biology, astronomy, and geology to search for signs of life on other planets, such as Mars or Europa.

Space careers are a rapidly growing, multidisciplinary field far beyond just astronauts, encompassing engineering, science, law, and business Employing roughly 50,000 people in the UK and growing globally, the sector builds satellites, develops robotics, and analyses climate change.

Key Information:

Around 39,800 international students are enrolled in South African public universities - accounting for 5.6% of all higher-education students. Outside the classroom, there's plenty to explore. You could hike Table Mountain, visit the Cape of Good Hope, go on safari in Kruger National Park, or check out the Cradle of Humankind, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

South Africa faces a number of socioeconomic challenges, including inequality and varying safety levels. Crime rates differ by area, so it's important to research where you'll be living and studying English is the main language of instruction, but South Africa recognises 11 official languages, including Zulu and Afrikaans. There are 26 public universities in South Africa, 7 of these are in the QS World University Rankings 2026.
