This newsletter is a collation of all the opportunities we have heard about from employers and universities. Please use the links included to read more information and apply to anything you are interested in. Links are underlined.

Opportunities

Insight into University is a comprehensive virtual experience allowing students to explore STEM studies at university including degree apprenticeships and the career opportunities that these subjects lead to. It provides access to information on university and student life, STEM projects and activities set by leading UK universities and global STEM companies, first year undergraduate lectures, live interactive sessions with academics, admissions tutors, apprentices, employers and current students.

Are there lots of questions about university going around in your head? Would you like to know what it's like before you take the leap and apply for a STEM university degree? With EDT’s Industrial Cadets Residential Insight into University experiences, you get the chance to try out a STEM degree subject at leading universities throughout the UK Each opportunity has it’s own eligibility criteria.

There are two new areas to explore on the Springpod website: Networks - This feature allows you to discover companies aligned to your interests. You can enrol in unique programmes and unlock additional opportunities.

Opportunities - This is where you can discover internships, jobs, apprenticeships with employers.

With careers tools, course tasters, apprenticeship vacancies, city guides, and more, the UCAS Hub shines a light on your future, your way. Start by exploring your options, favouriting subjects, and using our handy tools

From construction and operations, to marketing and HR, there’s a career in nuclear for you. This three minute quiz will help you identify your strengths and align them with exciting opportunities within the sector. Simply select the options that best resonate with your professional aspirations and skillset to discover a new professional path.

Unibuddy is a feature on the UCAS website that allows you to speak to current university students. You can filter the list by university or subject to find students with similar interests to you. You can ask them about their journey, application tips or what university life is really like. This is a great way to get honest opinions.

Fire Safety Engineer

A fire engineer has an important role. They use science and engineering principles to protect people and property from the devastating effects of fires. Fire engineers design fire safety measures, conduct risk assessments and ensure the structural integrity of buildings.

There are concerns around the availability of STEM skills in the UK workforce. 49% of engineering and technology businesses report difficulties with recruitment because of skills shortages. This makes STEM a great area to focus your development as you’ll be in demand!

Think the RAF is just about flying? Think bigger. Explore careers. Build real skills. Prove your potential. The RAF virtual work experience platform allows you to explore RAF careers, develop your skills and prepare for your future.

If you’re looking to explore careers in the Armed Forces but are unsure whether the Army, Air Force or Navy is best for you, this guide on the Government website is a good place to start.

The Forage is a catalogue of free, virtual “job simulations” designed to help you explore careers and build practical skills Each simulation typically takes a few hours and is created in partnership with major employers, giving a “dayin-the-life” preview of different careers They’re free, require no application or prior experience, and are meant to help you gain confidence, explore roles, and prepare for job applications.

The University Guys are here to support students in exploring, preparing for and applying to universities all over the world. They run a variety of webinars to help you understand the application process in different countries. They also have a range of guides, a podcast and helpful FAQs.

Take a look at the Study in Czechia portal and choose from over 1,000 degree programmes in English.

94% of tuition fees range from 0 – 6,000 EUR/year.

315,000 students are studying at Czech universities, out of which more than 55,000 are international students on degree programmes Study in Czechia ambassadors are international students who share their everyday experiences of living and studying in Czechia. After graduation, you can stay for up to 9 months and find a job or start your own business.
