Making Comics Workshops Join us for "Making Comics," a series of hands-on workshops led by artist Becca Hillburn. Hillburn, author of the educational art blog NattoSoup, grew up in St. Charles Parish and currently works as a comic artist, illustrator, and art teacher in Nashville, TN. The workshop series will guide participants through the comic making process, including how to make zines and how to write and ink comics.

Yoga at the Library and Home Sara Lyon, a licensed professional counselor and registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance, leads an all-levels Vinyasa Yoga class every Monday at 6 p.m. at the West Regional Library. In the one-hour class, Sara guides attendees through a series of invigorating movements with breath, focus, and mindful meditation. The class is designed for all levels, but participants must be able to get up and down off the floor. Please bring a yoga mat. Presented in partnership with Creative Family Solutions. We also offer other ways to try yoga. From DVDs at the library to streaming videos through hoopla, you can start your yoga journey at the pace you want.

Wirecutter is a New York Times company that researches and tests gear and gadgets for people who want to save time when trying to figure out what to buy. Season of Light gives you an up-close look at the traditions and customs celebrated around the world during this time of year.
The Alien Who Stole Christmas returns this holiday season!
An extended version of The Alien Who Stole Christmas will run for our Saturday matinee.
You will learn about the winter solstice and our planet’s seasons as well as the astronomical possibilities behind the Star of Bethlehem.
An alien nabs Santa Claus on Christmas Eve and takes him on a tour of the solar system. You will learn about the planets and about some children Santa left off his list.
It includes a winter star walk that will share the wonders of the winter night sky with you and your children, both young and old.
