STEM Fair Scheduled We are partnering with Entergy Waterford 3 to present a STEM Fair on Tuesday, October 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the East Regional Library. Many elements of STEM— Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math—are scheduled to be on display and available for hands-on experiences for people of all ages, from preschool to adults, throughout the library. Volunteers from Entergy Waterford 3 will have activities and demonstrations in conjunction with Nuclear Science Week (October 15-19) for attendees to learn more about energy and nuclear power. Earth Science Week (October 14-20) will be celebrated with help from retired science teacher Marie Tizzard. She will encourage students to act like paleontologists by investigating ancient ocean sediments to discover and identify shark teeth, coral, sea shells, and more.

Monday Movie: BOO2! A Madea Halloween Madea, Bam and Hattie head to a campground where a group of teens are partying on Halloween, but chaos ensues when it turns out that the area is haunted by ghouls. Rated PG-13 Hahnville Branch Monday, October 1 ▪ 10 am
In partnership with the Louisiana State Bar Association and the Louisiana Library Association, we are participating in the fifth annual “Lawyers in Libraries” program on Tuesday, October 23. We will host two Ask-A-Lawyer sessions, where attorneys will provide free individual consultations on legal issues. Attorney Michele C. Stross of Southeast Louisiana Legal Services will be available beginning at 10 am at the East Regional Library. Attorney Scott J. Falgoust of Lemmon Law Firm will be available from 2 pm to 4 pm at the West Regional Library. The sessions are free and open to the public, but attorneys will not provide consultations on criminal cases. No registration is needed.
