Get Summer Started at the Library! Visiting the library is always free fun, but there is so much to do during the summer you’ll wonder how you can fit it all in! Come for a musical performance, craft, activity, to use the computer, or just to get out of the heat.
And while you’re having fun, remember that visiting the library is a great way to help children’s reading skills stay sharp while school is out. Studies show that students who read during the summer have an easier time transitioning back to school in the fall. Parents, spending summer at the library is a way to spend quality time with your children. Read to them or let them read to you – sign up each member of your family and reach your reading goals together! Listening to audiobooks, being read to, and attending storytime counts too.
Storytimes And WeePlay Storytime features stories, activities, games, songs, and crafts. Tiny Tots Storytime introduces books and reading to children ages birth to 24 months. WeePlay encourages caregivers to “play” with their child and use their imaginations while exploring.
