East Regional Library Wednesday, September 12 from 5 pm to 7 pm. Attendees will enjoy refreshments, activities, and giveaways while browsing information tables about these resources as well as learning about afterschool activities for children and teenagers.
An American Marriage by Tayari Jones
Many library resources can be used when the library is closed and from the comfort of your home! Library staff will be on hand to provide hands-on demonstrations of these resources and how they can benefit busy parents and students. The library also provides many afterschool activities and events for adults, teens, and children. Learn more about these as well as the types of things you can check out from the library for homework help or just for fun!

I " I David and Marieanne Arata collect early pressing irons and trivets—these ordinary, everyday objects have a fascinating history! Mr. Arata will share this history during a presentation at the East Regional Library Monday, August 27 at 6 pm. He will show a PowerPoint presentation of the collection while explaining the purpose and timeframe of select pieces. There will also be some of the irons on display.

Are you a fan of jigsaw puzzles? Join us at the East Regional Library Saturday, September 8 at 9 am for our first Jigsaw Puzzle Competition! Competitors will compete against others—and the clock—to assemble a 300-piece jigsaw puzzle.

For the second year, the Friends of the St. Charles Library sponsored the grand prizes for the library’s annual summer reading program. The grand prizes for the children’s, teen, and adult reading programs are a library prize pack, which includes an Amazon Fire Tablet. Summer Stargazing highlights the stars and constellations of summer.
One World, One Sky: Big Bird’s Adventure introduces young children to the wonders of stargazing with Big Bird and Elmo.
In Earth, Moon & Sun, you will join Coyote, a confused but witty character adapted from American Indian oral traditions.
They will join Elmo and his friend from China, Hu Hu Zhu, on an imaginary trip to the Moon and learn how it differs from Earth.
Coyote explores common misconceptions about the Earth, Moon, and Sun.

You will also learn to find your way around the summer night sky using the stars as your guide and that there are more than just stars in the evening sky.
