FINANCIAL ECONOMICS Do you like problem-solving? Are you curious about investment and market analysis? Do you have an aptitude for analytic reasoning?
As one of the few programs of its kind in Minnesota, financial economics combines economics, accounting, and finance for students looking to work in a financial career. Overall, it is the examination of choices that consumers, businesses, and governments make to get what they want within their resources. Students majoring in financial economics develop strong analytical and reasoning skills that enable them to make good financial decisions. Financial economics opens the door to jobs within government, private industry, banking, accounting, international trade, financial services companies, and more.
YOU WILL LEARN TO: • Conduct financial and cost analysis • Write financial reports • Apply economic policy skills in business decision-making and forecasting • Interpret financial/economic data on the regional, national and global economy • Develop writing/speaking skills to present financial and economic information
