SOCIAL WORK When you see someone mistreated, do you want to step in and do something about it? Would you like to relieve people’s suffering while fighting for social justice? Does a career with meaning, action, and diversity sound like a good fit for you? When you commit to social justice, you change the world for the better. And there are so many exciting ways to make a difference with a social work degree from St. Catherine University. Here, you’ll develop a critical understanding of oppression at all levels in society, and learn how to work with individuals, families, communities, organizations, and government to solve challenges and inequities people face – and meet their needs. Our accredited program finishes with a 400-hour internship during your senior year under the supervision of a licensed social worker to boost confidence and real-world experience.
YOU WILL LEARN TO: • Advance human rights and social, racial, economic, and environmental justice • Engage anti-racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion in practice • Apply research-informed practice • Intervene to help individuals, families, communities and systems solve problems
