RESPIRATORY CARE Do you see yourself making a direct impact on patients’ lives? Are you a problem-solver who also enjoys building relationships with people? Do you enjoy working as part of a team? To give someone breath is to give them life. Our respiratory care program was one of the first in the country and over the next 10 years, demand for these professionals is projected to grow 23%. You’ll receive a foundation in the liberal arts and basic sciences, along with a variety of clinical experiences ranging from neonatal to pediatric to adult critical care. Upon graduation, you’ll be eligible — and prepared — to take the Entry-Level Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) Examination. From the start, 100% of our graduates have passed the CRT exam and 100% are employed, largely in the Twin Cities area.
YOU WILL LEARN TO: • Interview and examine patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders • Perform diagnostic tests • Work with physicians to make treatment plans • Monitor and record patients’ progress • Teach patients how to take medications and use equipment • Provide mechanical ventilation to patients in respiratory failure
