NUTRITION SCIENCE Are you interested in how nutrition impacts the body’s overall health and well-being? Do you want to help people live healthier lives? The Nutrition Science program develops scientifically literate professionals who can confidently articulate the integration of food, nutrition, health, and related social issues. Advocate for justice and serve with compassion in the nutrition community, or naturally transition to medical, dental, occupational therapy, public health, and physician assistant programs. Nutrition Science can also be used as a stepping stone to advanced studies in fields like health communication or business and sales.

YOU WILL LEARN TO: • Understand how food is converted to energy that the body can use • Identify nutritional needs unique to different stages of life • Revise a recipe to accommodate special dietary needs • Debate both sides of a controversial nutrition issue
