Welcome from the Coordinator

A decade has passed since I was appointed as the Coordinator of the Mildura Field Days and I am as excited for the 2026 event as I was for my very first Field Day in 2015.

The committee that I work with are some of the best people, there is no fuss, they just get on with the job and do what needs to be done.

For most of the year they are dried fruit growers or retired growers and they come together to set up for and host our fantastic annual event.

It would be remiss of me not to mention my trusty assistant Nicky, who is responsible for making sure all of the correct documentation is supplied and much more. Thanks Nicky!

The question has been asked as to why!

Why do we work hard to hold the annual event?

Results from our vendor survey showed that we are on the right track and that the event is important from an economic and business perspective for the region.

But just as importantly, the event is an important social event, where the community comes together and where children can learn about agriculture.

Without introducing children to agriculture, we don’t have an agricultural future and who doesn’t love to see the smiles on the faces of the children as they visit the many exhibits at the annual event.

The event is two days of fabulous exhibits, delicious food and family friendly activities.

Welcome from the Committee

The Mildura Field Days Committee welcomes you to the 2026 Mildura Field Days and look forward to sharing with you the very best in agriculture and everything our event has to offer.

Come and see the latest technology, enjoy the free activities and entertainment and maybe even pick up a bargain or two.

You never know, you might come away with a new idea or opportunity.

The Mildura Field Days is where agriculture and community unite and is an important tool in linking those on the land with the latest in technology and the broader community to agriculture.

Our gate prices remain the cheapest in the country at only $10 per adult, $5 for aged pensioners, and students, 18 & under free, along

It is a place to learn, a time to socialise and enjoy.

So “Let’s Have a Field Day”

Field Days

with any supervising teachers and staff

The Mildura Field Days have come a very long way from a Gadget Day which celebrated the ingenuity of local dried fruits growers to being a premier event on the annual calendar.

In 2027 the event will celebrate the 75th anniversary, which is testament

to the importance of the event and the efforts of many over that time.

Our thanks to Dried Fruits Australia who continue to support the event and to all the exhibitors, volunteers and attendees for helping us to make the Mildura Field Days the great event it is.

Mildura Field Days Committee

It is a pleasure to acknowledge the 75th Annual Mildura Field Days, an event that continues to play an

role in celebrating the

and community spirit.

Each year, the Mildura Field Days brings together local producers, businesses,

families, and visitors to showcase the very best in horticulture, farming practices, emerging technologies, and regional food and craftsmanship. This event highlights the diversity and capability of our industries, and the dedication and ingenuity that define our community. Sincere thanks go to the

organisers, volunteers, sponsors, and exhibitors whose hard work and commitment ensure the ongoing success of this event.

To everyone attending, including those visiting from outside the region, I hope you enjoy all that the Mildura Field Days have to offer and take the time

to experience the unique character, hospitality, and natural beauty of our area.

Best wishes, Cr Ali

Ascending through adversity with Steve Bell

One of the highlights of this year’s Mildura Field Days will be former Mount Everest guide Steve Bell who shares the hard earned lessons of time spent in the mountains.

More than just an account of daring climbs, Steve’s talk offers a captivating perspective on how we can navigate the “Mount Everests” we face in our own lives, drawing comparisons between decisions made under pressure on the mountain and the challenges of daily existence we all face.

Through gripping stories of his experiences, he reveals how to face adversity with confidence, embrace uncertainty and take courage in our inborn ability to not merely survive, but also to ascend.

Steve’s presentation is entertaining and inspiring. He shares gripping stories - from a ninety meter fall on an Alpine north face to a life saving decision to turn back on Annapurna

III, to show us that adversity is unavoidable and is essential to shaping us.

His message goes well beyond survival, it is about how we can adapt to the curveballs that life throws at us.

Steve’s journey; which includes his time with the British Antarctic Survey and a commission in the Royal Marines highlights the importance of leadership under extreme pressure, and how you should listen to your

instincts; your inner voice.

He translates his mountaineering experiences into practical life lessons for us to draw on.

“My talk employs the drama of mountaineering to demonstrate our incredible ability to deal with hardship,” Steve explains.

“Whether chosen or forced upon us, adversity shows us what we’re truly capable of.”

There will be an opportunity for a Q & A session at the end of Steve’s presentation offering a chance for personal connection with him.

Steve’s presentation concludes with a rousing call to action; to face adversity with confidence, embrace uncertainty, and take courage in our inborn ability to not merely survive, but also to ascend.

Steve Bell’s presentation will be held between 12:00pm - 1:30pm in the Dunn Bar.

C.H.A.I.L.I.S Making a difference! in the lives of sick children

C.H.A.I.L.I.S (Children Having an Illness Living in Sunraysia) is a local charity which was born from one man’s desire to make a difference and what a difference it has made to the lives of many local families who have found themselves on a journey with a child with an illness or life limiting disability.

The C.H.A.I.L.I.S Family Support Program has been operating since 2015 and at any given time C.H.A.I.L.I.S has a portfolio of families being supported and depending on the circumstances and the child’s or children’s health needs at the time, financial support is given to families to enable them to focus on their children’s journey to wellness rather than carrying the stress of financial pressures.

The support provided to families by C.H.A.I.L.I.S is as individual as the families themselves.

Support is not restricted to purchasing equipment for example with families supported according to the family’s needs. Support includes monetary,

travel, accommodation and equipment requests.

The other unique aspect of C.H.A.I.L.I.S is that 100 per cent of the funds that are raised or donated is passed onto families.

Administration costs are covered by annual fees paid by Board members or by direct payment by those same members of accounts such as insurance.

Mildura Field Days are proud to support the work of C.H.A.I.L.I.S and encourage patrons to make a donation into the collection buckets of the C.H.A.I.L.I.S volunteers at each gate or make a donation online or over the counter at any branch of the Bendigo Bank.

Science anyone? It’s fun!

Love science?

Want to get involved in some really cool science workshops?

If you’re curious about the weird and wonderful world of science, you won’t want to miss one of their shows, so make a beeline for the Fizzics Education site and see what the team have prepared for you.

A highlight you absolutely can’t miss is the stunning Liquid Nitrogen Show, promising spectacular effects.

Equally engaging is the Science of Toys Area.

This highly engaging workshop utilises station-based activities to explore the fundamental principles of push and pull forces, gravity, and energy change.

But the learning doesn’t stop when the shows conclude.

Between each demonstration, you’ll enjoy hands-on activities, with the chance to explore, touch, and experiment.

The Fizzics Education team is ready to deliver truly interactive science workshops, where “hands-on“ means exactly that.

This is more than just watching; it’s about doing.

Come prepared for a session of interactive fun, and walk away with a greater understanding of the world around you.
