Wise beyond years Grey hair, moustaches and walking sticks were common accessories at Mt Evelyn’s Birmingham Primary School on Friday 24 July. The 100 days of Prep celebration was embraced by not only the school’s youngest cohort but also the oldest. Making up a core memory of their years at Birmingham, the Grade 6 students, who missed out on their own 100 days because of the pandemic, were eager to don the centenarian attire for a day. String of fires a Paris Court property in Mooroolbark just before 6pm after a fire broke out in a garage. The quickthinking occupants kept the internal door closed, starving the blaze of oxygen, and evacuated safely with their pets. Mooroolbark Captain Craig Turner praised their actions, which prevented flames from spreading into the home, while reiterating the crucial need for working, interconnected smoke alarms.
