‘Ban now’ There were calls to “immediately” roll out a proposed machete ban after a 24-year-old Clyde man died following an incident at the Marriott Waters shopping centre car park in Lyndhurst last week. Voices outside By Ethan Benedicto Residents gathered in numbers outside Bunjil Place on Tuesday, 18 March around 6pm, the same time when the Casey Council meeting was held online. People’s reaction to them being ‘barred’ from attending centred around disappointment and frustration, and sharing these sentiments with

each other. Roughly 100 people were in attendance, with a total of 11 police officers, alongside three security guards on the premises. Meanwhile, motions were passed during the meeting, with promises of a comprehensive review of the conditions of local laws, as well as applications and fees around it.
