Warm welcome Over four years of waiting for an elected council has finally been over for the people of Casey. New councillors across 12 wards in Casey were all officially declared on Monday 11 November. In Casey South, the newly elected councillors are Gary Rowe for Correa Ward, Carolyn Eaves for Quarters Ward, Michelle Crowther for Cran-
bourne Gardens Ward, Shane Taylor for Kowan Ward, Lynette Pereira for River Gum Ward, and Jenner Dizon for Tooradin Ward. In Casey North, new councillors are Scott Dowling for Akoonah Ward, Kim Ross for Casuarina Ward, Anthony Walter for Dillwynia Ward, Dave Perry for Grevillea Ward, Melinda Ambros

for Kalora Ward, and Stefan Kooman for Waratah Ward. There are two councillors who served before, including Cr Rowe and Cr Pereira. The new Casey Council team has one Labor member Cr Kooman, one Greens member Cr Perry, and ten independents.
The Casey mayor election will be held from 4pm to 5pm on Tuesday 19 November at Bunjil Place. At least four councillors have declared their intention to run for mayor next week, including Correa Cr Rowe, River Gum Cr Pereira, Akoonah Cr Dowling, and Waratah Cr Koomen.
