Howl of a day By Margie Maccoll Every year for the past three years the locals at Peregian Beach set aside a day to celebrate their dogs. Last Sunday Doggy Vibes was the biggest event to date with dogs of all shapes and sizes and their owners taking part in activities, competitions, enjoying the entertainment and investigate the dog market. Led by Jon and Brett of Peticular, the Peregian Beach Business Association initiative brought together canine services, rescue organisations, dog services and dog product producers. Jon said Peregian Beach is such a dog-friendly place people enjoy it so much they want to keep doing it and every year businesses get to show their wares. Best in business After hundreds of hours of judging, the finalists’ results are in for the 2023 Sunshine Coast Business Awards with Noosa businesses featuring strongly. Sunshine Coast Business Awards Chair Jennifer Swaine said this year saw more entries submitted than ever before. “We are very excited to announce this year’s finalists. Overall we have 137 across 16 different categories,” Mrs Swaine said. Mrs Swaine said this year’s entries were

again of a very high calibre. “Year on year, we see higher and higher quality entries, and it is very clear entrants are working hard on their applications, so I would like to congratulate this year’s finalists and also thank everyone who entered,” Mrs Swaine said. Mrs Swaine said the finalists would now enter the next stage of the judging process, with interviews taking place over the coming weeks.
