Sandon due A long-delayed corruption watchdog report into planning decisions at a council in Melbourne’s southeast is set to be published within days after a late bid to block it failed. Millionaire property developer John Woodman on Monday sought permission to appeal an earlier Supreme Court ruling dismissing his request to stop the release of the Operation Sandon report into Casey council. But his case was thrown out by a three-justice bench in the Victorian Court of Appeal after about an hour of arguments. It paves the way for the Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission to release the report as early as this week, although Mr Woodman could still take his fight to the High Court. STORY PAGE 3

Masked fear Pakenham residents were awoken in the early hours last week as a masked individual conducted suspicious activity and broke into cars along a residential street. Around 4am on Wednesday 19 July, multiple incidents were reported on social media and to the police along Wakenshaw Crescent in Pakenham. Resident Michael Donaldson was awoken at this time to a notification of someone at his doorstep, his security camera caught footage of a masked individual approaching his front door with an unknown item in their right hand. It was later on in the day when Michael posted the video to social media and reported the incident to the police that he found out other incidents occurred on his street. STORY PAGE 5

Builder collapse Local building company Kleev Homes Pty Ltd has gone into liquidation early this month, leaving over $3m owed to over 100 creditors. Originally based in Upper Beaconsfield,
they have had numerous residential home builds across the State. News.com reported of the liquidation on Tuesday 25 July, where they obtained documents from the Australia Securities and Investments Commission that showed Kleev

Homes owed $3.29m to creditors as of earlier this month. It’s reported that the collapse was sudden with communication to the company through their phone and website being currently shut down.
This is one of many liquidation in the industry this year as cost-hikes that have left companies exposed, starting the with the collapse of building giant Porter Davis. STORY PAGE 3
