He’s unbreakable By MONIQUE KUZEFF DURING a dismal time in which dairy farmers are having to slog it out through the pitfalls of a shaky milk industry, a former dairy farmer has shared his story of how he battled through 30 years of running his own dairy farm in Northern Victoria. He experienced high interest rates, low commodity prices, flood and drought, financial troubles and family issues. And 47-year-old Warren Davies im-
parts to farmers currently experiencing hardships that “resilience, persistence and determination” were the keys to getting him through the “hard times”. Having moved with his parents, Ron and Sandra, from Melbourne suburbia to a farm at Merrigum in regional Victoria at age 15, Warren quickly grew accustomed to the rural lifestyle his parents had built in the country. By the age of 22 he purchased his first farm at Tongala and married his wife Merrilyn, and they had five children together.
But little did he know that over the next 20 years he would be faced with challenges that would “shake him to the core” and teach him the harsh reality of being a dairy farmer, which eventually forced him to walk off his farm. “Back in 2004 my family and I basically had to walk off our farm due to the drought,” Warren said. “But prior to that, we had experienced floods, low commodity prices, and a family breakdown, which all had an impact on my mental health and
led me to some really dark places. “I remember waking up one morning and the farm was waist-deep in water and I had nowhere to feed the cows so I had to feed them on the road.” By 2004, if he and his family had stayed at their farm much longer, they would’ve had the banks knocking on their door, Warren said. He experienced about a $220,000 loss in one year. He could not see a way through the 2004 drought which had a detrimental
impact on his farm, so he had to make the tough decision to pack up and leave their home, their farm, their life. “I had to bounce back, I had to find a way to do it,” he said. He and his family relocated to Mt Gambier where he picked up a job managing a farm. But the troubles he left at Tongala followed him as he had to meet loan repayments through agistment because his farm was not quickly sold during the slump. Continued page 3

Heroes care SOCIAL inclusion and personalised companionship for both elderly people and those living with a disability is the mission of a new social startup, Home Care Heroes, which was developed after a phone call from an Albury resident suffering with Parkinson’s Disease who needed domestic assistance. The initiative, launched in January, was founded by two young people – Mathieu Bertrand and Jenna Leo – who realised the need for social companionship and assistance for elderly and disabled people. While these groups of people particularly can often feel excluded from social activity, the initiative enables them to receive the care that caters to their needs to help improve their lifestyle by matching caregivers and seekers based on interests and hobbies as well as location and service. Mathieu said the primary goal of Home Care Heroes was
“social inclusion” as this could provide care seekers with psychological and physical benefits. “The social and communal aspect of the organisation is very important to us,” Mathieu said. “Because of their condition, they are often isolated in their house and don’t get out in the community that much,” Mathieu said. “It’s that social inclusion we are trying to enhance in our community so if the elderly or disabled want to participate in a particular activity, their carer can take them out.” The biggest advantage for those using the service is that they are paired with a carer who has similar interests and hobbies or can communicate in same language, Mathieu said. “In choosing their carer, they are able to access full-detailed profiles with biographies so it’s very personable and they can connect with an individual instantly.
“We offer a local outlet and at a flat rate for affordability.” He said while the initiative welcomed anyone from university students, professionals, retirees and individuals wanting to earn bit of an income or help someone in need, anyone registered must go through a comprehensive screening. “All our care givers go through a thorough screening process including police checks, background checks, Skype interview and require two reference checks,” he said. “We are quite fussy about who we let on our website as we want to ensure that the individuals registered are the most suitable people around to help others.” Mathieu and Jenna encouraged anyone wanting to “give back” to their community and help someone in need to visit their website at www.homecareheroes.com.au for further information.

Mr Shaw said about $2 million had been collected for the drought fund through the efforts of the Rotary clubs. He recognised the efforts of the Burrumbuttock Hay Runners and praised Brendan Farrell, instigator of the initiative, at the dinner. “My hometown of Yass doesn’t quite suffer as much as these towns out the west but they have their moments as we all do,” Mr Shaw said. Border Rotary clubs have also supported Mudgee with hay runs when the area was affected by bushfires in 2009 and provided a ‘drought trailer’ to other drought-affected areas in 2008. Warren Davies, author of the The Unbreakable Farmer, was a guest speaker on the night sharing his inspirational story of overcoming challenges and adversities during the 30 years as a dairy farmer, to which he saw through with sheer resilience, persistence and determination.

A CHEQUE totaling $21,500 for the Burrumbuttock Hay Runners cause was presented to the president of the Rotary Club of Sydney Alex Shaw – who was the delegated courier of the proceeds at a combined Rotary club dinner on Thursday night. The cheque was a part of a $71,500 sum raised by the Rotary Clubs of Albury Wodonga Sunrise, Belvoir Wodonga, Wodonga Central and Wodonga West to assist the Burrumbuttock Hay Runners in their next run up north. An additional cheque of $1500 was also presented to Mr Shaw on the night, chipped in by the Albury Wodonga 4x4 Club. The proceeds will be dispersed to the hay runners through the Rotary Club of Sydney, which has organised drought relief in Queensland. Rotary Club of BelvoirWodonga secretary Bob Matejcic said many Rotary clubs
around Sydney and in Wodonga have contributed to the drought relief fund organised by the Sydney club. “We are all in the community service that’s the main thing about Rotary, it’s about giving back to the community whether that be local, national or international,” Mr Matejcic said. “The drought relief fund aids those in Queensland, and while the money here tonight will be handed out by the Sydney club we know that it will filter back this way,” Mr Matejcic said. “What the Sydney club will do is it will redirect the money to those people involved in doing the hay runs up to Queensland.” The proceeds were raised at a multicultural auction night in May, organised by the four clubs, which saw about 280 tickets sold, and the other sum of proceeds was presented to Brett Lieschke, Burrumbuttock Hay Runner spokesperson, in the form of BP fuel cards last month.

Unbreakable farmer’s tale From front page EVENTUALLY he moved into rural real estate for a while and undertook some finance and business courses before returning to farm management roles. But managing other farms was not the same for him, he said. He couldn’t “settle” and he felt he had “lost” his identity as a farmer, husband, and father. “I struggled working for someone else because I had worked for myself for 20 years," Warren said. “Having changed my working life for a while it taught me that every business has its own challenges and the same idea of resilience and picking yourself up when you get knocked down is similar through all industries. “One of the main lessons dairy farming taught me was resilience, persistence and determination but it also taught me to be resourceful and a problem solver.” Warren has now started a new chapter in his life as a speaker, sharing his inspiring journey by imparting his skills and paying forward his unique story as the “Unbreakable Farmer”. “I’m only one in thousands because there’s a lot of people that have gone through or are going through a similar situation as I did, I just wanted to step up and speak about. I want to help them. “I had to step into that title.” His main piece of advice to those currently experiencing downturns in their farming business was to “communicate”. “You must communicate rather than going inside your

there and if you can play the bigger game, that’s what it's all about.” Warren is an ambassador for the children’s charity ‘Cottage by the Sea’ and an online intervention suicide prevention platform, ‘The Ripple Effect’. He hopes that his experience can help others to get through the hard times.
WHILE subsidy for blood glucose test strips have been “removed” from the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS), this change has no serious repercussions on diabetes sufferers registered with the National Diabetes Services Scheme, women with gestational diabetes, and insulin users. People with diabetes registered with the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS) still have access to subsidised test strips. While people with Type Two diabetes using insulin will receive an initial six month supply of subsidised test strips under the NDSS, they become eligible to further access the test strips subsidy after the six months if their doctor or other health professional considers it necessary. Health Minister Sussan Ley said medical research had shown that people with Type Two diabetes and not on insulin get “minimal benefit” from blood sugar testing. She said they were able to “better manage” their diabetes with “active engagement” with their doctor and by developing a “chronic disease management plan”. “If a doctor or diabetes educator wants their patient to continue to use test strips as part of their management they can. “These changes to the NDSS
actually make test strips cheaper for the patient that they were on the PBD.” The price for a box of 100 test strips costs $38.30 for general patients under PBS, and $16.50 under NDSS. For concession patients under the PBS, a box of 100 test strips costs $6.20, and $1.30 for pensioner under NDSS. The changes were implemented to make it easier for people living with diabetes to access their required products, as well as ensuring the ongoing sustainability of the scheme, Ms Ley said. People registered with the NDSS are able to access the test
strips and other necessary products including needles, syringes and urine test strips from their local community pharmacists. This way it benefits those living in smaller communities where the local pharmacy will be able to dispense test strips or, for the first time, insulin pump consumables. “These changes actually give people living with diabetes better access to their products through their local community pharmacy,” she said. “There are no funding cuts to the NDSS and no patient with a clinical need for ongoing access to test strips will be affected.” AT T

Votes for all By MONIQUE KUZEFF BELVOIR Special School Year 12 students were among the many groups across Victoria to receive a vital lesson that should see them contribute to the democratic outcome at the upcoming local government election. The Victorian Electoral Commision (VEC) organised a session at Belvoir Special School, Murray Valley Centre and Wodonga TAFE to teach students living with a disability how to vote and to encourage them to partake in the upcoming council election on 22 October. The message to the students was that voting was a chance to actively participate in democracy and that no-one should be underrepresented - and that also
goes for people living with a disability. VEC disability co-ordinator Wendy Oxley has been visiting the schools across Victoria to encourage students who are approaching voting age to “make their vote count�. She said she wanted to make the students aware of their “right� and “responsibility� as an Australian citizen to vote in Australia’s federal, state and local democratic elections. “We’ve got a great democracy in Australia and It’s very important that the younger generation get out and vote,� Ms Oxley said. “Even if you’ve got a disability or you don’t understand the language, we offer sessions to assist those who might need it.
“We even go out into prisons and remote areas to encourage everyone who is entitled to vote to do so.� The Belvoir Special School students were taught how to fill out a sample ballot paper inside a real voting booth and then submit it in a real ballot box. Ms Oxley said the students enjoyed the voting process and learnt quite quickly what to do. “They love it, they were enthusiasts, and they’re really well informed students,� she said. “Voting is very straightforward and we try to show them how to proceed once they know what candidate they want. “We inform them to put numbers on the ballot papers, not crosses or ticks.�

IT’S that time of the year again when about 4000 young competitors join at Albury Entertainment Centre for the annual Albury Wodonga Eisteddfod competitions over 14-days. The Border and surrounding area locals are welcome to watch the performances of the region’s most talented in disciplines of music, debating, speech and drama, highland dance and other styles of dancing. The two-week long music event – which is made possible by the eisteddfod committee volunteers – offers young competitors the opportunity to gain confidence in performing in front of an appreciative crowd. Linda Martin, who has been chairman of the eisteddfod committee for six years, said the eisteddfod is open to anyone no matter their level of music ability.
Ms Martin “values� what the eisteddfod has to offer young country people. “Music is very creative and triggers imagination as does the performing arts and that’s what it’s all about – so they can expand their minds and come up with new things,� she said. “Presenting themselves in front of any audience, their grooming, their timing and their presentation helps with their development and these skills transfer over to the workforce.� The event is now in its 35th year since the revival of it by AlburyCity Council and has brought in local service businesses in about $500,000. Ms Martin is “passionate� about providing country competitors with equal opportunity to those in the cities. “I’m passionate about country competitors having equal
opportunity to city competitors,� Ms Martin said. “As they’re performances improve I have seen some of them go to Sydney and other cities to compete. “It’s for enjoyment, fun, equal opportunity and co-operation as everyone in an orchestra needs to co-operate at the same times otherwise its chaos.� She encouraged the Border communities to attend a session or two to encourage the young performers in their practice and performances. “Anyone who comes along will be just amazed by the performances given and the dignity in which these children present themselves.� The Albury Wodonga Eisteddfod will be running to 7 August. Uni celebrates its roots with a meal By MONIQUE KUZEFF CHARLES Sturt University’s (CSU) students and staff joined in on a Red Winter Lunch and cake cutting ceremony held at the Thurgoona campus’s Gums Cafe on Wednesday as they celebrated the establishment of the campus almost three decades ago. The annual CSU Foundation Day recognises the Thurgoona campus as one of the three foundation campuses of CSU, along with Bathurst and Wagga Wagga. Dressed in shades of its traditional colour red the students and staff enjoyed games, music, prizes, bonfires, food and fun
as they celebrated the 27 years of history and future outlook of the local university. Head of Campus Julie Cleary who has been working at the campus for 15 years said she had “marveled” at the transformation of CSU. “We are proud of how much we have evolved over the years,” Ms Cleary said. “We are healthy, growing, vibrant and changing all the time. We often have far more applicants then we can provide places for.” Ms Cleary said the students and staff enjoyed conversation about the achievements of the university and the future outlook of the campus.
“In many ways we are punching above our weight and increasing our student load. “It’s becoming quite competitive but we have fantastic future partnerships that we are working on and in a way we are re-inventing the university so applicants can have more choices. “We’ve also increased our online presence and its certainly becoming who we are. “We are growing really well and that’s a lot to celebrate.” The proud sustainable, ecological and environmentally friendly campus has a rich history offering a wide range of courses in diverse fields.

Reversing can send a wallet backwards are often playing, walking or riding bikes, which really highlights the need for drivers to take care when reversing. “We urge parents and carers never to let children play in driveways and to make sure they know what is going on behind their car at all times.” RACV recently released its annual Reversing Visibility Index, which tested 240 vehicles on a scale of zero-to-five stars to help motorists choose a model with better rear visibility. This year, 65 per cent of vehicles tested scored five stars, compared with 53 per cent in 2015. RACV has welcomed the improvements in reversing visibility technology in vehicles, but has called on car manufacturers to have cameras included as standard in all models. “Motorists who are not ready to upgrade their car to one that has a reversing camera could consider having a camera or sensors retro-fitted, which could improve the visibility of the car to a five-star standard,” Mr Northey said. “Even if your car has park-
ing sensors or a reversing camera fitted, you should not rely on these alone. “Make sure you also check the rear-view mirror and look over your shoulder to ensure there are no people or obstacles in the vehicle’s path.” Mr Northey said that for the five-year period to 2015, more than half of the reversing collision claims resulted from incidents where the insured driver was at fault either by causing a collision with another vehicle (34 per cent) or reversing into an object (23 per cent). “Motorists need to recognise when they are driving in confined and busy spaces, or when they are stressed. Take your time, stay calm and be courteous to other drivers,” he advised. Riding into winter days WINTER is well and truly here and while it’s not everyone’s favourite time of the year to ride there are still plenty of people out there riding for all kinds of reasons. The Albury Wodonga motorcycle club has been hosting plenty of well-attended practice days down at the Lincoln causeway complex as well as two highly successful race meetings held one each on the dirt track and moto cross track where once again local riders performed exceptionally well. For those who have never seen motorcycle racing up close I would highly recommend checking out the complex on the causeway to experience some of the diverse range of racing motorcycles can offer. On the international scene, all the world championships are well under way and while some are about to take a summer break in Europe there is always racing somewhere to keep us entertained. Safety is always something close to my heart and has been out front in the media recently with all the talk and concern over ATV safety. The ATV industry has a set of guidelines and some very useful material to help users identify and safely use the correct vehicle for the job. They have a FCAI five-star safety guide which covers selecting the right vehicle, protect yourself, be trained, safe riders and loads and understanding and following the manufacturer’s recommendations. A THIRD of collisions in Wodonga and Wangaratta were the result of a reversing car, new RACV data has revealed. About 800 reversing collisions were recorded in the Wodonga and Wangaratta local government areas in the five-year period to 2015, according to RACV claims statistics. RACV General Manager Insurance, Paul Northey said reversing collision claims accounted for 24 per cent of all collision claims. The average cost of these collisions rose from about $1800 in 2011 to more than $2600 in 2015. Mr Northey said car parks (including shopping centres) and driveways were the two most common locations for reversing collisions, accounting for 28 and 26 per cent respectively for the five-year period to 2015. “Close to a quarter of a billion dollars’ worth of claims were lodged for reversing collisions in driveways during the past five years,” he said. “More importantly though, these are areas where children

Quad biking into the danger zone By Monique Kuzeff WHILE a quad bike is an important vehicle for farmers, 68 per cent of quad bike fatalities since 2001 have occurred on farms making it one of the greatest dangers in rural workplaces. In response to the issue of quad bike safety, the NSW government has handed out a $2 million quad bike safety rebate program to help NSW farmers engage in safer work practices and to reduce quad bike accidents on farms. It provides support to farmers to undertake harm prevention training in relation to quad bikes through a range of programs and will be available until 30 June 2017.
Farmers with small farming businesses are also eligible for a rebate of up to $500 to them assist in the purchasing of operator protector devices such as roll over bars, side-by-side utility, ATV Lifeguard and helmet to help prevent injuries and deaths. NSW Farmers industrial relations chair Richard Chamen said at the NSW Farmers conference in Sydney on Tuesday that the rebate was a “move in the right direction by Government”. He said it will help make farmers more “aware” of the importance of quad bike safety activity and protection and to make safer choices. “We are hopeful that this program will provide clear
guidance on the way hazards relating to quad bike use can be practically managed on farms,” Mr Chamen said. He told News Weekly that harm prevention training is particularly important for farmers who own their own businesses to ensure their employees ride the quad bikes safely. “If you are in a position where you have employees, then having them learning how to ride properly and safely will certainly help your enterprise and prevent injuries which could cost you money. “I encourage as many people to buy helmets, quad bars and educate themselves through this rebate,” he said.

moment – Idris Elba) and suddenly they are fighting for their lives, their ship and for the future of all mankind. And while this is a “big adventure” movie, the nice things about it are the small things. The main crew is paired off due to an accident and we see them interacting one-on-one. Of course Bones (Karl Urban) and Spock (Zachary Quinto) end up spending a lot of the movie together and this interaction is particularly fun and really well-written (and a homage to the original series). But we also see Uhura, Scotty, Sulu and Chekov come into their own too.
While the original show tended to be Kirk-centric, this is very much an ensemble piece (Zoe Saldana’s Uhura does a couple of things you’d have expected to see Kirk do in the old series). And although there are impressive fight scenes and big screen action scenes it’s the acting, the heart and the dialogue that really shines through in the third outing for this cast (and sadly the last time they will ALL be together due to the untimely death of youngest regular Anton Yelchin). This movie tries to be all things to all people and you know what? It pretty much pulls it off. – Tania Phillips

THIS was always going to be a slightly different Star Trek – no JJ Abrams at the helm (Justin Lin instead) and written by Simon Pegg (and Doug Jung – who makes a brief blink and you’ll miss it cameo as Sulu’s husband). And of course there were tributes to be paid to Leonard Nimoy who died as it was in production. And while the over-arching storyline felt a little familiar, like a cross between the first two of the Nu-Trek movies, this was a great piece of story-telling, fun, adventurous and well put together – and some of the visuals are just breath-taking. The USS Enterprise crew is three years into its mission exploring the unknown and it’s becoming monotonous and wearing them down, particularly Kirk and Spock, who for very different reasons, are feeling the pull of a more normal life. Social tribes take over the housing market landscape OVER the next decade the housing market in Australia will be divided in to 10 household ‘social tribes’, according to research released by the Commonwealth Bank. While Australian households or ‘tribes’ have remained fairly consistent - flatting friends, newlyweds, big families and empty nesters - the CommBank Future Insights Series suggests an evolving population with housing market dynamics producing new groups. Commonwealth Bank Executive General Manager Home Buying Dan Huggins says the emergence of new household groups will have a direct impact on the design, build and renovation of Australian property, which will also affect how it is bought and sold. “Technological advancements, evolving housing design coupled with population growth, continued migration and changing age demographics, will bring with it new housing norms,” Mr Huggins said. “We know that most of these groups have existed for some time, but the newest to emerge, and the ones that will have the biggest impact on how
the home is set up in the future, will be the Home-Work group, Social Singles and Multi-Generational Clans.” The 10 household tribes identified include: Social Singles DINKs: Double Income No Kids Lifestyle renters The Home-Work Tribe Nuclear Family Multi-Generational Clans Property accumulators Peter Pans City Switchers Midlife Flatmates The research shows that one in three workers will be employed on a freelance basis by 2030, giving rise to the Home-Work Tribe. similar lifestyles. We are not necessarily bound to the social norms and structures that formed our past, and we are increasingly looking to housing and architecture to better reflect this freedom.” A dramatic increase in the ability to reconfigure and adapt homes will allow home owners and renters alike to scale their dwellings in line with their financial capacity and living needs. Think flexible floor plans, sliding walls, mechanical ceilings and robotic furniture - all ways that architects and designers are making small spaces feel big. Architects are also designing small, basic homes that can be expanded and embellished as people grow their savings. In 2030, many Australian homes will do far more than provide shelter - they will also help occupants feel better. Sensors will assess people’s moods and breathing rates as they walk in the door, altering light and music accordingly. Homes will also monitor health and fitness, reminding people to be more active, and helping Peter Pans to live independently for longer. By 2030, more Australian homes will function as self-sufficient ecosystems, generating their own electricity, disposing of waste, recycling water

and growing fruit and vegetables. Not only will homes be so technologically advanced that they will be able to learn people’s habits and observe changes in their routines, they will also monitor their own energy performance and help cut energy costs. NEW REIV data shows house prices remained stable across the state in the June quarter, up almost one per cent to a median of $347,000. Despite a stable regional market, multiple towns recorded significant quarterly growth in the three months to 30 June. Portland in the state’s west experienced the largest quarterly change in regional Victoria with house prices there increasing 14.8 per cent to a median of $310,000. This was up from $270,000 in March. Similar price growth of 14.7 per cent was recorded in the Ballarat suburb of Lake Wendouree, where the median house price has hit $780,000 - an increase of $100,000 on March figures. In the three months to 30 June, proximity to the city remained a key selling point for buyers. A number of towns within commuting distance of the city experiencing price growth, including East Geelong and Geelong, where the median house price rose to $470,000 and $668,000 respectively - up more than nine per cent in both locations. Capital growth was also recorded in Gippsland with the median house price in Trafalgar up 8.8 per cent

Tough on a heavy track By OVENS AND MURRAY FOOTBALL ONE of Australia’s music icons had a country hit with “When the rain tumbles down in July” and those words have been true for this July with good steady rain falling on a regular basis. That’s fine, but what about the Ovens and Murray Football League matches at the weekend? Local Sport A true test of strength By PAUL INGWERSEN SUNDAY sees the 30th running of the John Woodman Memorial Wagga to Albury race. It is an event requiring physical and mental strength. The toughest section of the race looks easy on paper and is no obstacle in training, but each year on the Walla Walla-Jindera Road, between Walla Walla and the cutting before Bethel road, there is a constant trickle of riders getting dropped from their bunches. After hitting the 100km mark, with 5km of false flat, an uphill grind, and crosswinds it is no surprise. Local knowledge can give the mental edge, knowing that past the cutting is downhill to Jindera. This year, 23 Albury Wodonga riders are handicapped across the four bunches and here is a rough form guide. Jess Featonby: His legs may be fresh, after five weeks off the bike following a spectacular high-speed crash in Indonesia. Those training with him know he has kept some form. There is a difference between training and swapping turns for 135km in a scratch bunch, but if scratch catch limit, look out for Jess applying his time trial and hill climbing ability well before the finish line. Given his focus is later in the year, he is an outside chance, but would prove a popular winner. Gerard Wild: A team-mate of Jess Featonby’s and riding well after his stint overseas, Gerard is the sort of rider who will turn himself inside out for the scratch bunch. A few years ago he was a true picture of blood, sweat and gears after crashing on his face descending Jindera Gap. Expect to see him at the front if scratch plough through the other groups. Jess Featonby is back in action after crashing in this Indonesian race. While limit in a state open race is a different story to a club race limit bunch, his recent strong ride around Chiltern suggests he could feature if limit stays away. Stephen Kilpatrick: One of the local evergreen riders, with multiple top 10 finishes in this race, he will be looking for the top step of the podium. While well into the masters category he still gets handicapped with riders less than half his age, and this may hinder his chances. If his bunch is at the front of the race, expect to see his Full Cycle
A capital match
entered there will be some contest for the Peta Stewart Conveyancing 1st female sash. The Specialised Women’s racing team have the field stacked in their favour. While it is a tough call to outsprint the men for first overall, if the front two groups stay away, expect to see one of these talented women in the top five placings. Crowd favourites will be local riders Taryn Heather and Maddie Wright, but both are capable of playing the team game to see another Specialised rider take honours. A final true dark horse for the race
is Tim Schilling. A relative newcomer to this form of racing and better known for riding gruelling endurance events, the distance won’t trouble him. If he flies under the handicapper’s radar, expect him to put riders under pressure over Jindera Gap. He is just the sort of rider who could hold a gap for 5km all the way to the finish. The race is a great event on the local calendar and anyone is welcome to watch the finish at the Lavington Hall on Urana road, with the first riders finishing around 1.15pm.

CAPITAL league women’s hockey action was back at the Albury Hockey Centre on Saturday when the Albury Strikers took on ANU. The fast-paced round 13 game ended in a one-all draw between the two rivals.
