A Busy Summer and Fall for Human Concerns Members of our parish who are part of St. Vincent de Paul, one of our Partners in Mercy, spent one week in June making lunches for up to 100 children at LaCasa in Waukesha. La Casa de Esperanza’s mission is to provide opportunities to achieve full social and economic participation in Terry Robinson society, with an emphasis Human Concerns on the Hispanic Coordinator population. They did a great job! In July, St. Vincent de Paul also ran a “Backpack Campaign” and collected several hundred school supplies and backpacks from generous donors in our parish. Thank you! On August 5, volunteers donated milk and dessert to Hope Center in Waukesha and other volunteers helped serve a meal that evening. On August 18, the Young at Heart hosted a “Best of the Lake” luncheon cruise on the scenic Geneva Lake. 48 participants enjoyed an afternoon of fun and the weather was perfect! Upcoming Save the Dates September 12 and 13, Padre Joe from our sister parish Santisimo Sacramento in Piura, Peru will be visiting our parish and speaking at all Masses. There will also be a quilt sale that weekend as well as Donut Sunday and blood pressure checks taking place. October is Respect Life month. We will have a “Baby Bottle” campaign collecting donations for Life’s Connections as well as collecting baby items for the Women’s Center in Milwaukee. On October 4 from 2:00 -3:00 pm, the Waukesha Right to Life group will have a LifeChain on the south side of Bluemound Road from Janicek Road on the west to Brookfield Road on the east. Signs will be available at both ends of our parish Respect Life location. On October 7 from 6:30 -8:30 pm, Our Faith in Action will host “Building Foundations” exploring Solutions to Homelessness in Waukesha County, the causes of housing insecurity, common misconceptions, and how our faith calls us to respond with compassion, dignity, and hope. Local speakers include Joe Nettesheim from Family Promise, and Jodie LaChapelle from SVdP. On October 8, the Young at Heart will celebrate Oktoberfest with a luncheon. The day will start with Mass at 10:00 am with Fr. Tony and the luncheon follows. Roger Bolle will be the entertainment playing the accordion. All ages are welcome! November 28 - December 13, we will once again have the Giving Tree in the Gathering Space. The Girl
Scouts are always so kind to make the gift tags and place them on the tree. Our high school teens are always so helpful moving things on the collection weekend. On December 10, the Young at Heart will have their Christmas luncheon. Mass will be at 10:00 am with Fr. Tony, and then the luncheon follows. All ages are welcome! January 2, 2027, will kick off the new year with a Blood Drive. Our Blood Drive on August 29 was a hug success. Thank you to all who donated! Thank you to all who donated gift cards to Family Promise in July and August and snack items for the Summer lunch program and backpack campaign. We are grateful for all the donations made and the volunteers helping with the Human Concerns’ mission. Special thanks to all the parishioners supporting our five Partners in Mercy needs bins in the gathering space, the SVdP Drop Box in the north parking lot, as well as our other ministries. Your outreach makes a big difference and is appreciated! Keep watching the bulletin for all our ministry and outreach updates.
Models of Holiness, Witnesses of Peace As we begin the 2026 –2027 program year, we are excited to share our parish and school theme: Models of Holiness, Witnesses of Peace. This theme grew out of the Jubilee Year of St. Francis, proclaimed by Pope Leo XIV on the 800th anniversary of St. Francis’ death. Rather than choosing a Scripture passage as we often do, we were drawn to one of the most beloved lines from the Peace Prayer attributed to St. Francis, “Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.” Throughout this year, we will reflect on the Saints and the saints among us who show us what it means to follow Christ. They remind us that holiness is for all of us. At the same time, our world longs for peace, and each of us has the opportunity to bring Christ’s peace into our conversations, relationships, and encounters. As we begin this new year together, we invite you to pray with our theme and ask God how you are being called to be a model of holiness and witness of peace. September 6, 2026

Our Parish Choir has been honored by Archbishop Grob and the Office of Worship to lead the Prayer Service to open the lecture!
Our Parish Choir begins regular rehearsals on Thursday, Sept. 10 at 7 pm in the Church. Anyone interested in joining is welcome to attend! All voice types are needed and no audition is required. The choir generally sings at the 9 am Mass most Sundays.

Women’s Choir Opportunity St. Anthony on the Lake is forming a women’s ensemble that will rehearse weekly on Wednesday afternoons from 1 to 2:15 pm. They will sing for the 5 pm Saturday Mass once a month, for the Lessons and Carols prayer service on December 20, and for the 5 pm Mass on Christmas Eve. NEWS FROM OUR SCHOOL
Meet Our School Resource Team St. Anthony on the Lake School is committed to helping all students succeed. In addition to the caring teachers and aides within the classroom, our Resource Team helps provide specialized instruction that is geared toward meeting each student’s individual needs. Brenda Schleifer provides instructional support to our students in 3K- 5th grade via individual, small group, and/ or whole group instruction. She oversees Math enrichment in 1st- 5th grade, as well as co - teaches middle school Writing Lab with Mrs. Anderson. Hailey Boelter - Eberhardt serves as our middle school Math teacher and provides Math support to 4th and 5th grade students. Jennifer Guthrie provides individual and small group instructional support to promote Literacy skills within our 3K-5th grade students. In addition, she teaches 7th Grade Literature. In addition to academic support, our Resource Specialists, Brenda Schleifer and Jennifer Guthrie, support our students with special needs, as well as their families. St. Anthony on the Lake school provides Educational Action Plans (EAPs) for students with special needs that specify the accommodations and

Calendar Raffle is Back! All funds raised go towards the St. Anthony on the Lake School’s 8th Grade trip to Washington, DC. Cost is $20 per raffle calendar, and all winning tickets get placed back in for another chance to win. Calendars can be purchased from Middle School students, in the School Office, and in the Gathering Space Sept. 19 & 20 and Sept. 26 & 27 after all Masses.
Backpacks Blessing at School Mass Fr. Tony shared with the children how we can look to the teachings of St. Francis to help us recognize the virtues we can “fill” our backpacks with as we come to school each day: kindness, compassion, care, and peace. The tags hanging on each backpack serve as a beautiful visual reminder that we, too, can spread joy throughout our school community by being instruments of God’s peace. May we carry these virtues with us wherever we go!

Autumn Day of Prayer Wednesday, September 30 Redemptorist Retreat Center with Deacon Larry Normann All are welcome to join us for a restorative day of prayer and faith. This retreat is a long - time favorite for many.
