In Matthew’s Gospel this weekend, Jesus tells the parable of The Laborers in the Vineyard. Some are called early in the morning, while others are invited to work later in the day. Yet, at the end of the day, all receive the same generous reward.

This event provides a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and show our encouragement for the seminarians who are dedicating their lives to the service of God and His people. In particular, we would like to express our support for our own seminarian, Michael Milam, who has been faithfully journeying through his formation and is an inspiration to us all.

This parable reminds us that God’s invitation is extended to each of us. We are all called to be part of God’s work, no Our part Military matter how long we have been of theParishioners Church or where we are in our faith journey. There is always an opportunity to say yes and to make a difference! This message is at the heart of stewardship. Everything we have is a gift from God, and we are invited to share those gifts with others. We each have gifts of prayer, time, talent, and treasure to offer. For one person, stewardship may mean volunteering at an event or getting involved in a ministry. For another, it may mean sharing a special skill, praying for those in need, welcoming someone new, or making a financial gift to support the mission of our parish. We don't all have the same gifts, but what matters is that we recognize what God has entrusted to us and ask how we can use those gifts to serve others. Where is God inviting you to work in the vineyard? This week, I invite us all to take a moment to prayerfully consider how each of us might share our prayers, time, talent, or treasure. There is a place for each of us, and together, our gifts help our parish Live the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Seek the lost, Commit to worship and lifelong faith formation, and Serve others in need.

Our wonderful choir helped lead the prayer at the Archdiocese of Milwaukee Pallium Lecture on Wednesday, Sept. 9. We are so grateful for the beautiful gift of music they shared. We are blessed to have such a talented and dedicated choir as part of our community!

New Audio System

As part of the Love One Another Campaign, a new sound system will soon be installed in the church. Included are new microphones for the priests and deacons, at the ambo and cantor stand, and over the choir. There will also be new speakers over the congregation, updates to the speakers in the Gathering Space, new projectors, and enhancements to the cameras for streaming. One person per Mass is needed to operate the new system, a total of four each weekend. Training will begin soon. Beginning in October, St. Anthony on the Lake will be holding a Taizé Prayer service once a month. Taizé Prayer is a simple, meditative form of Christian prayer that originated with the Taizé Community in France. It centers on reflection, Scripture, silence, and the repeated singing of short, meaningful chants. Rather than many spoken words, Taizé prayer invites people to slow down, listen for God’s presence, and pray together in a spirit of peace and contemplation.

9 am Sunday Mass | Open to All Children Ages 4 - Grade 1 During 9 am Mass, kids age four through Grade 1 are invited to an age-appropriate Liturgy of the Word designed just for them. Children gather in front of the altar with their catechist and are then sent forth by the presider to learn about the Sunday Scripture through prayers, songs, and readings. They return to their families following the Prayers of the Faithful. No registration needed.

No street shoes please! Gym shoes (as long as they have not been worn outside) socks or slippers are fine. You are welcome to bring a snack and eat at the tables in the lobby by the gym.

Off to Another Great Year in 3rd Grade! Ms. Mary Heebsh, 3rd Grade Teacher

There have been many activities that we have participated in this year so far. The 3rd grade students have hosted their first mass of the year! It was amazing to have students read the word of God and also many students in the choir who are now school mass singers as well. Students also learned the deeper meaning of this years’ mission which is: Models of Holiness, Witnesses of Peace. This is the year of St. Francis, and students explored many ways that St. Francis was a model of holiness by the ways he treated creation. After talking about many animals that St. Francis helped, students choose from a worm, wolf, dove, bunny, or fish to paint in representation of St. Francis. This is a reminder to everyone how a small gesture of holiness can change the world for the better. Students also tied blankets in preparation for the Gold in September mass to give to people who have cancer. They took time to pray for those people who will receive the blankets as they tied them together. We can’t wait for all of the amazing things 3rd grade will experience throughout this school year!
