PARISH NEWS • 3

WE REMEMBER OUR MODELS OF HOLINESS On Sunday, November 1, we celebrate the Solemnity of All Saints Day. It is a day the church sets aside to honor the “Church Triumphant,” all who have gone before us, both named and unnamed, apostles, martyrs, confessors and holy men and women who have lived their faith and been examples to us of Christian life. The Feast of All Saints Day has been celebrated on many different days throughout history, but was finally fixed on the first day of November by Pope Gregory III sometime between 731 A.D. and 741 A.D. Because it is a major Holy Day and falls on a Sunday this year we will celebrate it at all Masses.

Vince LaTona

Director of Music and Liturgy

On Monday evening November 2, we celebrate the Feast of All Souls’ Day with a special Mass at 7 pm. All Souls’ Day is when we, the “Church Militant,” remember the faithful departed nearest and dearest to us. We reflect upon our models of holiness, namely the relatives, family, and friends who have gone before us. If you wish to have a loved one remembered at this Mass, simply fill out the envelope from your monthly envelope packet or use the QR code in the bulletin. Envelopes are also available in the Gathering Space. As Roman Catholics we are asked to use the month of November to remember all who have gone before us. We are also encouraged to spend time during the month visiting the graves of loved ones and offering prayers. Our Book of Life will be on display in the sanctuary with the names of parishioners who have gone before us.

Annual Memorial Mass on November 5 On Thursday, November 5 at 7 pm, we will remember our parishioners who have been buried within the last year at St. Anthony on the Lake at a special Memorial Mass. This past year, we buried eighteen members of our parish. Please join us as we support those families that are still grieving the loss of a loved one.

All Hallow’s Eve – Fish on Fridays with Al McCauley November is an ideal month to take time to learn more about the Saints. Many came from very humble backgrounds and went on to do extraordinary things. Check out a special Fish on Fridays with Al McCauley, “All Hallow’s Eve,” to hear about some of our favorite Saints. Visit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xi8nIsJeZ9Q or scan the QR code to view.

Remember a loved one on All Souls Day Names can be submitted by scanning the QR code. All names received by Monday, October 26 will be published in the November 1 bulletin.

4 • PRAYER & WORSHIP

All Soul’s Day Monday, Nov. 2 If you wish to remember a loved one, please fill out an All Souls’ Day Mass envelope. Envelopes can be found in the Gathering Space or in your monthly envelope packet. Please print the names clearly on the envelope so we have the correct spelling for your loved one. Names can also be submitted by scanning the QR code. All names received by Monday, October 26 will be published in the bulletin November 1.

Keep Pope Leo in Your Prayers This Week For our Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, that God, the source of all healing and consolation, may guide those who care for him, grant wisdom to his medical team, and bring him renewed health and strength, let us pray to the Lord.

Annual Memorial Mass Thursday, Nov. 5 On Thursday, November 5 at 7 pm we will celebrate the annual Memorial Mass for all parishioners who have passed away within the last year. Many of our parish families are still grieving the loss of their loved ones and this Mass helps bring them additional comfort as they continue to mourn. Please join us to help support our parish families.

ATTENTION LECTORS!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

New Lector Workbooks are in the Fireplace Lounge ready for pick up. The new workbooks begin with the first Sunday of Advent on Nov. 29. If you are a new lector and cannot find your book, please contact the Music and Liturgy Office. Thank you.

New Audio System

Join the Women’s Choir!

Women of all ages are welcome to share their voices! We rehearse Wednesdays from 1–2:15 pm in church. Ensemble sings at the 5 pm Saturday Mass once a month, as well as the Lessons and Carols prayer service on December 20 and the 5:30 pm Christmas Eve Mass. Come share your voice and sing with us! Email questions to Julie Farrell at farrellj@stanthony.cc.

As part of the Love One Another Campaign, a new sound system will soon be installed in church. One person per Mass is needed to operate the new system, a total of four each weekend. Training begins soon.

Sunday Livestream

Help stream the 9 am Mass. Sign up for the weekends that work best for you. Training and support are provided for this important ministry to our homebound parishioners.

Ushers

Help welcome and assist parishioners, and collect their gifts at Mass. High school and older are welcome to help. Scheduled about three months each year. If you are interested in volunteering Contact Vince LaTona (262) 691-1173 ext. 1109 or email latonav@stanthony.cc.

“I guess you were right.” Although Jim and I don’t see our marriage as a competition, still this phrase is one of the sweetest things he can say to me. It usually comes after a disagreement in which each of us was sure we were right. It doesn’t remedy the mistake but it’s SO much better than “I told you so!” I turn toward him with love rather than self-righteousness. Is there something your spouse was “right” about this past week? (Susan Vogt)

Communion to the Homebound Would you like to bring Communion to someone who will miss Mass due to illness? The process is simple.

Before Mass, stop by the Eucharistic Ministry station near the vesting sacristy. Sign out a pyx and receive an instruction card. Take the pyx with you at communion time. After receiving communion, hold up the open pyx. After the Eucharistic Minister places a host in it, close the container. If you choose, receive the cup, then return to your seat. After Communion, the priest will ask you to stand and receive a blessing. It is important you deliver the Eucharist to the person immediately after Mass. Return the pyx to church the following week. Call Vince LaTona with questions at (262) 691-1173 ext. 1109, or email latonav@stanthony.cc.

PROMOTING GROWTH AND ACHIEVEMENT

St. Anthony on the Lake K5-8th grade students just completed their 2026 Fall MAP Testing. We are blessed to have a team of Teachers, Aides, and Resource Specialists who can provide on-level and remedial instruction, as well as enrichment to ensure we meet all students’ needs to promote growth and achievement.

On our recent Fall MAP Test, St. Anthony on the Lake students performed at a median 77th percentile for Reading and Math achievement and a median 82nd percentile for Language achievement. This is well above the 50th percentile national average. St. Anthony on the Lake staff and students continue to nourish the potential and opportunities God sets forth each and every day.
