Thank You, St. Anthony on the Lake!
As a huge fan of Classic Rock, I often find myself reflecting on lyrics and sometimes even applying them to my own life. Such is the case today as I recall the musings of “Goodbye Stranger” by Supertramp: “It was an early morning yesterday and I was up before the dawn. And while I really have enjoyed myself, I must be moving on …” In other words, after nearly 40 years, I’ve decided I must be moving on from the life of an educator.

Stepping away from the principal role at St. Anthony is bittersweet for me. I’m super appreciative of the support I have received from Father Tony, my staff and virtually every parent and student at St. Anthony. I truly love the students here and they are the reason that I come to work every day. They are joyful, respectful and treat me like someone they are the best!
My wife and I have been members of the St. Anthony on the Lake Community since we married in 1991, so I take comfort in knowing that my final days as principal in June won’t necessarily be a goodbye but rather a “see you later.”
To say that I have been blessed during these forty years is an understatement. During my tenure as a teacher and administrator in the Pewaukee School District, I was surrounded by talented, committed educators who worked diligently to produce high quality students and citizens. Needless to say, the same has been true these past four years at St. Anthony on the Lake.
It was not an easy decision to re -emerge from semi-retirement in 2022 to return to leading a building; however, it is one I am supremely grateful for having made. The students, parents, teachers and staff at St. Anthony on the Lake are second -to-none in their dedication, their commitment, and their overall concern
And even though “New Kid in Town” by the Eagles reminds us, “they will never forget you until somebody new comes along,” I hope you’ll remember me as someone who left SAL better than I found it.

All fathers both living and deceased will be remembered at Masses the weekend of June 20 & 21. Parishioners are invited to dedicate a Spiritual Bouquet in honor of their Dad, Grandfather, Godfather, and Dad -like figures. Names received by June 15 will be published in the bulletin that weekend. There will be a table in the Gathering Space for you to submit names, as well as pick up greeting cards. Suggested stipend is $20.

On Sunday, June 7, the church celebrates the Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, also known as Corpus Christi. The weekends of May 30 & 31 and June 6 & 7 there will be information in the Gathering Space about this feast day and the practice of Eucharistic Adoration. Members of the St. Anthony’s Adoration Group will be on hand to give to more information about Adoration and how you can become an Adorer.

The Waukesha Chapter of Wisconsin Right to Life will be hosting an information booth at the Waukesha County Fair, Wednesday, July 15 through Sunday, July 19. The 8th grade class at St. Anthony on the Lake School recently visited Washington, D.C. on their 8th grade class trip. Highlights of the trip included visiting memorials, including the following: Jefferson, FDR, Martin Luther King Jr., Pentagon, Korea, Vietnam, World War II, and Lincoln, a student favorite. In addition to exploring Mount Vernon, Ford’s Theater, Petersen House, the Washington National Cathedral, and several Smithsonian Museums, the students also toured the United States Capitol Building. The trip concluded with a visit to Arlington National Cemetery, including four of our 8th graders laying a wreath at the tomb of the
Unknown Soldier after witnessing the changing of the guard. The students represented St. Anthony on the Lake admirably as all enjoyed the historical scenery and an unforgettable experience.
