Summer Faith Formation Activities Summer faith formation is a different kind of busy. The regular schedule that characterizes the school year gives way to unique summer experiences. The mission of forming our faith continues thanks to dedicated staff and volunteers. Summer is a wonderful time to serve the Lord, learn about our Catholic faith, and grow in discipleship. That is true for our children, teens, and adults! We are so grateful for the dedicated work of Tasha Baures for the leadership she provided in the joy filled, memorable Bible Camp this year. Anyone who was involved was blessed to experience the vibrant week on the “Peace Train” where they learned stories from the Old and New Testament. Just ask any scripture scholar camper about Nehemiah or what Jesus said about the Sheep and the Goats. Tasha said about Bible Camp: Our Bible Campers hopped on the Peace Train in June. They learned through the Bible how we can be peacemakers in our daily lives. They met Saints whose lives have shown us the way to peace. We sang, we danced, we played and made crafts, but most of all we came together as a community. Bible camp could not be successful without the many hands who come together. We had 80 teen and adult volunteers helping this year! We are so grateful for our community. Tasha also leads the Middle School Outreach Camp. She gives us a glimpse of what our middle school students experience: St. Anthony middle school students had the opportunity to participate in Mission of Mercy again this year. 30 - plus students are gathering in July to serve our local community through service. We will be the hands and feet of Jesus as we care for others. Our youth will be serving at homeless shelters, food pantries, adult day services, and senior living centers. It is a fulfilling week for those who serve. We will also have the chance to pray together and strengthen friendships old and new .
We are grateful Taylor Baar will be leading the high school mission trip this year serving in Waterloo, IA, July 12 -17. Taylor shared: Dr. Kathie Amidei Throughout the week, Pastoral Associcate teens will serve the local community through a variety of projects, including minor home repairs, helping with children's camps, and assisting organizations such as St. Vincent de Paul, local food banks, and other nonprofits wherever help is needed .
Each day begins with Mass before heading out to serve. Evenings are filled with opportunities for prayer, praise and worship, games, and fellowship as they continue to grow in their faith. It is a wonderful opportunity to live out the Gospel by being the hands and feet of Christ in our world. Thank you for keeping them, the people they serve, and all those participating in Catholic Heart Workcamp in your prayers. They will share about their service at a Shareholder Gathering July 19 after the 9 am Mass. Thank you to Tasha and Taylor for leading our children and teens this summer to grow in the footsteps of Jesus to love God and serve those in need. We also appreciate Al McCauley helping our adults to grow in faith with wonderful summer presentations on the Sacred Heart of Jesus and St. Mary Magdalene as well as facilitating a Summer Book Read on Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom on August 18. There have been much other behind the scenes work being done including Baptism preparations and celebrations led by Ann Grunwaldt . And welcoming and onboarding our new Director of Youth Ministry, Matt Losiniecke ! We thank our staff and many teen and adult volunteers who keep our Lifelong Faith Formation year - round ministry alive, active and faith - filled! July 12, 2026

High School Mission Trip Begins Monday! Please keep our high school students and their adult leaders in your prayers as they participate in the Catholic Heart mission trip in Waterloo, Iowa. Throughout the week they will serve alongside teens from neighboring parishes and from all around the Midwest, making a positive difference in the community while growing in faith through service and prayer. May God bless them, keep them safe, and guide them as they share Christ’s love with others.

MIDDLE SCHOOL MISSION OF MERCY Jesus calls us to serve others just as He served us. This past week, our middle school youth are putting their faith into action by spending time serving our local community. Throughout the week, they have helped at food pantries, visited with seniors, and supported those who are in need. Through these simple acts of kindness and compassion, our middle schoolers are learning that even small acts of service can make a big difference. We are so proud of the way they are sharing God’s love with others!
