Last week we closed out Lent with the Easter Triduum. As a youngster, I always enjoyed Holy Week —most likely because it meant Easter Break and a respite from school. As an adult, I especially enjoy the Triduum as it marks the progression of the solemnity of the Last Supper and Jesus’ crucifixion, through the hopeful joy that the resurrection on Easter Sunday brings.
During the Lenten Season at St. Anthony on the Lake School, students enhanced their faith life through the participation in Lenten Reconciliation, Stations of the
Cross, the recitation of the rosary, and individual and group prayer. Almsgiving was highlighted with Tuna Tuesdays the collection of tuna for delivery to the Pewaukee Food Pantry. Our “Firsties” (1st graders), led the way by bringing in 320 cans on our way to surpassing our goal of 1,000 cans collected. Additionally, we continue to focus on the collection of aluminum can pop tabs to support the Ronald McDonald House.
We are thankful for the Spring weather that April brings
Lenten Season. The music for the Lenten Sundays, the cantata Lenten Sketches, the Triduum Days, and Easter Sunday all added to the solemnity and prayerful nature of our celebrations. On Easter Sunday the choir divided in half to lead both the 9 and 10:45 am Masses in song. Many of them adding their voices to both Masses.

That as the apostles shared all their goods, Christians may share their goods with those who feel they cannot carry their pregnancy to term, and assist them to choose life, we pray to the Lord...

Last season the Garden produced over 270 pounds of Vegetables and plus over 100 other items to feed the hungry at the Pewaukee Food Pantry. All thanks to our volunteers.
Volunteers are needed to help in the garden. You may sign up as an individual, family or as a group. Service is for one week to plant, water, weed and harvest. For more information, a tour of the garden or to sign up for a week this summer contact Kathy Waters at szowat@wi.rr.com.

Our 3K class has been joyfully exploring the wonders of God’s creation as we welcome the season of spring! Over the past few weeks, we have been learning about the changes that come with springtime, including new life, spring animals, and different types of weather. The children have especially enjoyed discussing how God cares for all living things and watching for signs of spring all around us.
In the coming weeks, we will begin a new unit on seeds and planting. The children will learn how plants grow, including the important roles of sunlight, water, and care. In the classroom, we continue to build strong foundational skills. The children are working hard to identify letters and their sounds, as well as recognizing numbers. We are also practicing important early math skills such one correspondence, and matching
