THE PRINCIPAL Dear St. Anne Catholic School Community, It is with great joy and profound gratitude that I write to you as Principal of St. Anne Catholic School. From the moment I first walked through the St. Anne gateway, I felt the blessing of the nearly century old calling of Goodness, Discipline, and Knowledge. My journey to St. Anne has been guided by God’s grace and by the Basilian Fathers’ timeless cornerstone of GDK. As a proud graduate of St. Thomas High School, my own faith and formation were deeply influenced by Basilian educators, who modeled what it means to teach goodness and lead with faith. To return now, in service to the St. Anne community that shares that same Basilian heritage, feels like coming home. Throughout my 20 years in Catholic education, I have witnessed the power of faith-filled learning which transforms lives. Here at St. Anne, I see that same spirit shining brightly in our students, families, faculty, and alumni. Together, we uphold a mission that continues to inspire and form young people who are grounded in faith, guided by wisdom, and driven to serve. As I begin this new chapter, I want to express my wholehearted support for the Advancement efforts that sustain our mission. The strength of St. Anne’s next 95 years depends on the generosity of our community and your gifts of time, talent, and treasure. Every act of service, every hour volunteered, every transformational gift made strengthens the mission upon which our students grow. I invite each of you to join me in championing these efforts, so that generations to come may continue to walk through the St. Anne gateway prepared to live GDK boldly in the world. St. Anne Catholic School relies on generous donations to offset the annual operating expenses and make investments to improve the physical facilities. We would like to thank all those who donate to benefit Catholic education. Annual Fund revenue reflects gifts raised in the previous fiscal year and transferred from reserves to support current-year operations. St. Anne’s operating revenues and expenses for the fiscal years 2024 and 2025 respectively, are as follows:

FIESTA 2025 found St. Anne Lost in FIESTA, a space-themed celebration that was out of this world! Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our FIESTA sponsors, student and faculty raffle sellers, and community supporters, this year’s mission was an interstellar success. Launching the FIESTA Season Every year, FIESTA asks every St. Anne student and staff member to sell a student quota of eight books of raffle tickets, which directly supports tuition assistance. The FIESTA season officially launched during the ‘Rock Rally, where cheerleaders kicked-off the raffle ticket campaign. Throughout the eight-week season, FIESTA pep rallies recognized top student sellers who earned FIESTA swag by reaching their eight-book raffle quota.

FIESTA Fest Celebration As a grand finale to the FIESTA fundraising season, the community gathered for FIESTA Fest, a parish-wide carnival of galactic proportions! The afternoon featured inflatables, games, cascarones, and food trucks that fueled fun and fellowship for all ages. Thanks to our generous FIESTA Fest sponsors for an out-of-this-world event! Mission Accomplished Through the dedication and enthusiasm of our students, faculty, and families, FIESTA 2025 raised more than $70,000 in raffle ticket sales to support tuition assistance. FIESTA is more than a fundraiser—it’s a beloved St. Anne tradition that keeps a Basilian Catholic education both affordable and accessible. LUCKY LINKS & SHAMROCK SMASH 2024 St. Anne smashed and yelled “FORE!”, at the inaugural Lucky Links and Shamrock Smash Golf & Pickleball Tournament on Wednesday, October 16th. The event brought together our spirited community for a day of friendly competition. Players spent the afternoon competing on the 9-hole par-3 golf course or rallying it out on one of six pickleball courts. As the sun set, guests gathered for the “Let’s Get ShamROCKED!” Clubhouse Party, complete with great food, drinks, and camaraderie-the perfect ending to a day celebrating St. Anne.

LET’S MAHJONG & MINGLE! An Evening of Chows, Pongs, and Kongs! In January, St. Anne mingled around the chalet for our most stylish game night yet, an evening of
Mahjong. Held in the cozy glow of St. Basil Hall, players gathered at the St. Anne Chalet for one unforgettable Apres Ski evening. Guests arrived decked out in Alpine Ski Chalet Chic, ready to shuffle, Charleston, and call “Mahjong!” while enjoying a night filled friendly competition. Theevent featured open play, light bites, fine wine, and a flurry of door prizes that
kept the energy as high as the mountain theme itself. Proceeds from the 2025 tournament directly benefited St. Anne Catholic School’s athletic and fine arts programming. As we look ahead to January 23, 2026, we invite you to join us once again for another round at the St. Anne Chalet — where community spirit and good fun always play a winning hand.

PTO ACCOMPLISHMENTS The St. Anne PTO is proud to reflect on another successful year and is thankful for all our supporters – parents, teachers and administration – who helped the St. Anne PTO provide opportunities to enhance the educational, spiritual and social lives of St. Anne students and their families. Together, we achieved remarkable milestones that have enriched the lives of our students and strengthened our school community. We also had a lot of fun along the way! Below please find the accomplishments of our dedicated Committees and Grade Chairs. It was a privilege and honor to work with you this year.
SCHOOL SERVICE • $2,365 gift to the school for the new wooden podium and custom St. Anne emblem to be used for school events and presentations. • $6,969 awarded for 13 teacher grants. • The Teacher Appreciation Committee coordinated meals, treats and staff recognition for inservice days, teacher appreciation week, parent/teacher conferences and holidays. • The Helping Hands Committee volunteered over 200 service hours for teacher projects. • The Grade Chairs hosted back to school socials, moms nights and dads nights, and Christmas gatherings; provided classroom support and teacher birthday celebrations. → $1,250 donation for 2nd grade students First Communion gifts → $1,250 donation toward 8th Grade Graduation celebration
COMMUNITY BUILDING The Welcoming Committee hosted multiple new student and teacher welcome events, as well as all-school Welcome Coffee events for over 80 new families. The Community Outreach Committee raised $500 by collecting leftover Halloween candy for U.S. troops and delivered Easter cards and door hangers handmade by our students to residents at St. Dominic Village. The Care Committee celebrated births and offered prayers for community illness and deaths by showing support and sending bereavement cards and flowers.

school year, more than 60 parents contributed their time, talents, and energy to support meaningful programs, events and fundraisers. SPECIAL EVENTS AND FUNDRAISING
The Special Events Committee hosted two well-attended events for our community. The popular Trunk-or-Treat in partnership with the parish and donuts for Go-Texan day walk-in. The Book Fair Committee raised over $2000 for the school library purchases and even more books donated directly to the library and classroom libraries. The Breakfast with Santa Committee hosted two sold-out seatings and transformed St. Basil Hall into The Polar Express. They even choreographed and performed to the beloved Hot Chocolate song and welcomed performances from the St. Anne choir and scouts. The Fundraising Committee raised over $3,500 across several shopping and dining fundraisers throughout the year. The Used Uniforms Committee and Spirit Spot Committee raised over $9,500 combined on lots of uniform and spirit wear sales. The Booster Club hosted the Junior High Spring Sports banquet.

“St. Anne has been my professional, spiritual, and family home for more than two decades” During the most challenging times, Mrs. Martinez led with faith and determination, so that St. Anne remained a place of learning, prayer, and connection. For more than two decades, Dawn Martinez has been the steady heartbeat of St. Anne Catholic School. Over her remarkable 23-year tenure as the St. Anne Assistant Principal and later Principal, she has watched more than 1,000 students cross the graduation stage and guided over 1,200 children to their First Holy Communion. When Martinez arrived at St. Anne, she found more than a school; she found a family. “St. Anne has been my professional, spiritual, and family home for more than two decades,” she reflected. “It has been a privilege to work alongside our faculty and staff, whose dedication to the Basilian Fathers’ mission of Goodness, Discipline, and Knowledge, never wavers.” As principal, St. Anne achieved milestones that strengthened its legacy, like earning the National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence honors in 2016 and 2022, and NCEA accreditation in 2014 and 2021. Yet her true impact was measured in the relationships she nurtured and enduring devotion to St. Anne.
“The world is much different now than it was in 2001 when I joined the St. Anne community,” she said. “Our educators have worked through a pandemic, technological shifts, and the evolving needs of children and families. Through it all, their commitment to our mission has remained constant.” “I am so thankful to the Basilian Fathers for the opportunity to lead this fabulous community,” she shared. “Now it is time for me to pass the torch to a new generation of educators… who will continue to build upon the cornerstone of Goodness, Discipline, and Knowledge.”
As she embarks on the next chapter of her journey, we offer our deepest appreciation and warmest blessings. May God continue to guide and bless Mrs. Martinez, Martinez just as she has guided and blessed St. Anne Catholic School.

STAFF HIGHLIGHTS
When alumni step beyond the St. Anne gateway, they carry with them more than academics. They carry the lessons of discipline, the joy of knowledge, and the practice of goodness that began here. They take those lessons into high schools, colleges, careers, families, parishes, and communities. And in many cases, they bring those lessons back — returning to enroll their children, grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Cristina Bahena, Pre-K3 teacher, earned her Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of St. Thomas. She was also inducted into Kappa Delta Pi, the international honor society in education, for academic achievement.
CLASS OF 1962 Louis LeBlanc, visited St. Anne in the fall and shared great memories of his time here. He remembered the name of every single classmate in his graduating class. CLASS OF 1978 Chevy Humphrey, President and CEO of the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, was named to the Forbes 50 under 50 list. CLASS OF 1981 State Representative Rhetta Bowers, visited with 7th Grade students during their trip to Austin. CLASS OF 1982 AND 1991 Stephen Hunter (‘82), Manager, ISS Computer Resources, International Space Station Program, and Audrie Lawton-Evans (‘91), Civil Court Judge, Black History Month Alumni Speakers. CLASS OF 2012 “Go to God. Open your heart and let Him speak for himself.”, says Theodore Birkofer, who chatted with junior high students about his life at St. Anne and his path to the priesthood. Birkofer is a fifth year seminarian at St. Faustina Catholic Church. CLASS OF 2013 Captain Evan Harris, an Army Simulations Operations Captain, where he helps generals train their staff in simulated scenarios, rather than sending tens of thousands of troops to the field. He rose through the ranks from the Armor branch, which includes the Army’s tank formations and its Cavalry scouts. Hailey Turner, graduated from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine and will be practicing in South Texas.
CLASS OF 2014 Alyssa Francis, received her white coat at the Foster School of Medicine, Texas Tech University. CLASS OF 2015 Jared Robinson, graduated from the Prairie View A & M, BA in Communication Studies, Minor in Social Sciences, Strake Jesuit. CLASS OF 2016 Braeden Benys, Class of 2018, graduated on December 13, 2024 from the Colorado School of Mines, with an Electrical Engineering degree. He played tight end for the football team. In January, he will join Baird, Gilroy and Dixon Electrical Engineers. CLASS OF 2018 Sarah Olmos, interned at the Texas state capitol as a Texas A&M Public Policy intern, during the 89th legislative session.
Catherine Lively, Junior High Literature teacher, graduated with a Master of Education in Administration from the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. Alison Turner, PE Teacher, was inducted to the Land O’Lakes High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
Leo Heuring, a Strake Jesuit graduate, starred in the season premiere of American Ninja Warrior and proceeded to the second round.
CLASS OF 2019 Andres Aleman, served as a Weapons Detailer during the Naval Academy Plebe Summer. Cortlandt Barrett, received the Outstanding Featured Performance in a Musical, for her role in “Next to Normal,” with the Central Square Theater and Front Porch Arts Collective. The Elliot Norton Awards are presented annually by the Boston Theater Critics Association. She is a junior at the Berklee College of Music. Ariel Francis, summer intern with DrFirst as a Professional Services Intern. She recently accepted the position of Student Assistant at University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine Neuroscience Graduate Program and the Cellular Physiology and Molecular Biophysics Program. Trey Robinson, wrapping up an incredible 9-week internship at WeldFit part of the Apex Heritage Group Internship Program. Miranda Santovena, a junior at Loyola Marymount University was awarded the Sophomore Service and Leadership Award. Angelica Vella, interned with DOCUmation over the summer as a Business Development Intern. She is a junior at Texas Christian University, majoring in Strategic Communication. CLASS OF 2020 Oliver Billings, a St. Thomas High School graduate, will attend Trinity University and major in Business Finance.
Pam McCollom, Math Interventionist, joined the Rice University School Mathematics Project as a Master Teacher in the Grades 2-5 program. She led teachers from all over Houston in discussions on Integrating algebra, geometry, and number through Steam Rice University.
CLASS OF 2022 Paloma Aleman, was a delegate to the HOBY Youth Leadership Program, as well as the National Hispanic Institute’s Lorenzo De Zavala Youth Legislative Forum, where she earned the top legislator award. She also attended the Westpoint Summer Leaders Experience (SLE) and the Naval Academy Summer Seminar. CLASS OF 2023 Clara Warnke, a sophomore at St Pius X earned the President’s Honor Roll, was awarded academic excellence in Honors Ancient World History, Honors English I, Honors Biology and Art Awarded academic excellence in AP Modern World History, AP Spanish, and Theology during her sophomore year. She was nominated and attended the 2025 Hoby Youth Leadership seminar, named 2025 CollegeBoard National recognition award for outstanding academic achievement and AP Scholar Spanish, German and Modern World History exams She also competed at the 2024 and 2025 TAPPS Swimming State Championships, inducted into the school’s National Honor Society Chapter.
