STANG Magazine Special Edition Issue: Spring Fever 2026 Volume 3
Mustang enthusiasts have asked for a magazine that has no ads, no sales pitches, and no bogus “fillers” to eat up space. They have asked for a magazine that is free, easy to access, and nothing but focused on Mustang pictures and content. They have asked for a magazine produced and written by Mustang owners. They have asked for a magazine that highlights the daily drivers and the average Mustang that is driven and is not a trailer queen. They have asked for the chance to one day have their ride, their group, their club, or their cause to be recognized in print or online. It is our absolute pleasure to meet these standards and to give you STANG Magazine. We hope that both our message and our image will be seen in every Mustang community out there. Thank you Mustang fans and enjoy your ride! - Daniel Ramey, Editor-In-Chief

I NEED THAT MUSTANG IN MY LIFE...
MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!
It started with a chance encounter at Barber Motorsports Park in Leeds, Alabama. Working the event as an over-the-road technician, I crossed paths with actor and racing enthusiast Patrick Dempsey, who was behind the wheel of the Supercuts S197 Mustang GT - a car that had only been on the market a year or so. Standing trackside, listening to Dempsey describe how the car felt carving corners and ripping down the straights, something clicked. The S197 had done what no car had done to me before - it combined retro styling inspired by the original pony car with modern performance in a way that just made sense. The drive home was spent working up the courage to tell my wife I needed a Mustang in my life.
That conversation went about as expected, but her support wasn’t far behind, and it wasn’t long before a slightly used 2005 Mustang GT in blue was sitting in our driveway. It didn’t stay stock for long - intake, exhaust, a hotter tune, a shot of nitrous, clutch upgrades, a Boy Racer body kit, and 20-inch deep dish wheels made sure of that. The car was reliable, fast, and turned heads everywhere it went.
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquir ing this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!
Dyno tune all came together to create what I call “the Infidel.” Since the GT500 front end loses the factory fog lights, I took styling cues from my 2005 and fabricated custom light pods in the grille - keeping that aggressive look while adding function. Not long ago, the Infidel got a garage mate: “Unapproachable,” a Race Red 2022 GT500 that now shares the space alongside her. Two very different personalities, two very capable machines - and it all traces back to one afternoon at the track, one conversation with a Hollywood actor behind the wheel of a pony car, and the moment I thought to myself, I need that Mustang in my life.

A decade later, history repeated itself. The S550 arrived and hit me with that same gut feeling I had at Barber - I had to have one. I tracked down a 2015 Oxford White GT Premium with the Performance Package from Mark Martin Ford in Arkansas, and yes, NASCAR legend Mark Martin himself signed my dash. The build that followed was anything but mild - a ProCharger, Kooks long-tube headers, a three-pump fuel system, GT500-inspired front end, coilovers, and a Palm Beach

This is our 1966 Mustang that we restored. The old photo is from 1996 when we first bought the car from the original owner of it. She was gifted the car for her high school graduation in 1966, brand new from the local Ford dealership in Renton, Washington. We are the second owners and bought it from her in 1996 for $5000.

It is an original C code 289 3 speed manual. I tore it all apart with my wife in April of 2002. We painted it ourselves and it currently has a 347 stroker motor that dinoed at just over 400 hp with the new Holley sniper 2 hyperspark fuel injection, Radium fuel pressure gauge, and pulse eliminator. It has a Tremec 5 speed installed with hydraulic clutch using components from Modern Driveline. It also has Borg Warner aftermarket power steering, QA1 double adjustable coilovers up front on otherwise stock suspension, and 3.55 posi trac rear gear.
Needless to say it runs pretty strong but cruises all day long at 70 mph and 2000 rpm down the highway. We will never sell it and probably give it to my nephew when we finally pass it along someday.

I MISSED THE MEMORIES...
Back in 2022, I had the awesome experience of my 2004 Mustang being published in STANG Magazine under the name of Sonic. It was such a cool experience to see my own car with my own spin actually in a magazine for the world to see.
MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!
Back in 2024, I had sold my car due to some life changes... positive changes. One day I was skimming through old photos of Sonic and seeing how much the kids grew up around that car, as I had it for several years. From holding the flashlight at late garage nights to washing it and giving it a good detail. I didn’t only miss the car but I missed the memories that came with it.
In early 2025, I had the opportunity to buy another one that was exactly like Sonic. It was in perfect timing, but not in perfect shape. It has seen a few rear bumpers in the past.
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. and DLR headlights, Magic Drift side skirt extensions and rear apron. I had to throw on the Cobra spoiler with Rex tail lights and Rex smoked high mount third brake light.
Still tons of ideas for this car to reach my goal but myself and my kids fell in love with this car all over again with lots of new memories to come. This car has been to many school dances, graduations, and proms and more to come.
Thank you STANG Magazine for giving me another opportunity to be involved in this awesome magazine!

The night I brought it home we had already written a list of parts that needed replaced - hood, bumper, headlights, basically a new front clip, a few rear end parts, and fix a few spots in the rear quarter panels. From then to now, I am happy to introduce you to my 2003 Mustang GT “Sub-Zero.”
Nothing too crazy with performance parts. It has a BBK throttle body with matching BBK CAI, BBK X pipe, MGW short throw shifter sitting on BMR lowering springs and a nice Memphis 12 for a bit of tunes .
Exterior includes a front Cobra bumper with halo color changing fog lights, complemented with a Magic drift lip kit

PAPPY’S PONY - 1969 MUSTANG
MORE THAN JUST A RESTORED MUSTANG...
This is a 1969 Ford Mustang Coupe nicknamed “Pappy’s Pony.”

It has an original 302, LeMans cam reproduction by Howard’s Cams, solid lifters, long tube headers, Pertronix Distributor, Holley Street Avenger 670, Original C-4 transmission with shift kit, and Flowmaster American Thunder exhaust.
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. Pappy’s Pony came to be because of a promise made from a daughter to her father. Ray “Pappy” Strubhar purchased the Mustang in 2013 and slowly began gathering parts to restore it. In June 2022, he was diagnosed with cancer, and his daughter Jennifer made him a promise - that she would make sure his project would be finished. Ray passed away in January 2023.
Jennifer brought the Mustang home in March 2023 as a roller and, with the help of her father’s cousin, learned how to rebuild the top end of the original 302 engine herself. The car was painted in the color her father had chosen. In May 2025, Pappy’s Pony attended its first car show, where it took home 3rd place.
More than just a restored Mustang, Pappy’s Pony is a symbol of the love Jennifer has for her father. Every time the engine fires to life, it feels as though a piece of him lives on - like her father’s heart beats once again. According to his wishes, the Mustang will one day be passed down to his grandson, keeping both the car and Ray’s memory alive for another generation.

I
LOVE THE SOUND IT MAKES...
This is my 2017 Mustang GT Coyote. My passion for Mustangs began with my husband, after seeing his cars. My first Mustang was a 2012 model, followed by a 2015 convertible, but I fell even more in love with the GT.
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. I am absolutely in love with my car, and in the future, I hope to own a Shelby. To me, it is my “little bluebird.” The thing is, once you test-drive them, you always want to step up to the next level of power.
I love the sound it makes in the morning, and I enjoy driving down the open road and listening to the raw power of this engine.

BLACK JADE - 1969 MACH 1
APPEARS ALMOST BLACK IN LOW LIGHT...
MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!
My love of Mustangs goes back to 1966, when my dad bought a 1966 Mustang coupe. I was heartbroken a few years later when he traded it in. For my 17th birthday, I convinced my dad that the perfect present was a car. He tried very hard to persuade me that a Falcon was the sensible choice, not a Mustang. I stood firm - the only car for me was a Mustang. I did have to compromise on the engine, though. As my dad reminded me, it was the “Energy Crisis,” gas had climbed above a dollar a gallon, and fuel economy mattered. We went to an Auto Action in Niagara Falls, New York, and came home with a 1967 Mustang Sprint Edition coupe in Vintage Burgundy. I kept that first Mustang for 35 years.
That car began a lifelong passion for Mustangs. Over the years, I have also owned a 1965 six-cylinder coupe in Vintage Burgundy, a 1966 289 convertible in Nightmist Blue with a white top, a 2007 Roush Stage 1 convertible in Redfire with a black top, a 2007 Shelby GT-H convertible, and a 1969 Mach 1 with a 351 Windsor in Black Jade. Black Jade is a very dark metallic green that appears almost black in low light but reveals deep emerald highlights in the sun. The name caused confusion, so Ford renamed it Dark Ivy Green Metallic for 1970. Colors like Black Jade and Silver Jade became iconic because they paired perfectly with the Mach 1 blackout hood treatment. Today, the 1966 convertible and the 1969 Mach 1 are beautiful drivers, while the 2007 Shelby GT-H is primarily a show car. The 1965 is now with my brother. Driving these cars is a major passion of mine. The 1966 has lived a full life on
the road. It traveled from Florida to Oklahoma to Charlotte and back to Florida for the Mustang’s 50th anniversary celebration. It has also driven the Oklahoma-to-Chicago portion of Route 66 and recently helped celebrate Route 66’s 100th anniversary in Seligman, Arizona. Once a few additional projects are completed, the 1969 Mach 1 will begin sharing those driving duties.

A TRUE ICON AMONG MODERN MUSCLE CARS...
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. This is my 2006 Ford Mustang GT with a Cervini body kit, which captures everything I love about classic American muscle while blending in modern performance and comfort. Powered by a 4.6-liter V8 Little Ellie delivers the unmistakable growl and rear-wheel-drive excitement that made the name legendary. I love the retro-inspired styling that pays tribute to the Mustangs of the late 1960s, with bold body lines, an aggressive stance, and timeless character that still turns heads and makes people smile everywhere I drive here in the UK.
What makes Little Ellie special to me is not just her performance, but the experience behind the wheel. From the deep exhaust note to the raw acceleration, she offers a driving feel that is engaging, mechanical, and authentic in a way many modern sports cars have lost. Whether cruising through the streets or opening it up on the motorway, Little Ellie delivers a perfect blend of nostalgia, power, and personality, making it a true icon among modern muscle cars.

I DECIDED TO DEDICATE THE CAR TO MY LATE WIFE...
My name is Phil Harper and this is a 2020 Mustang Ecoboost named Boostedspirit.
I purchased this Mustang in 2020 with only 39 miles on it after my test drive. I wasn’t a Mustang person but fell in love with the Fastback design. My son bought me an 04 GT that was wrecked and was taking too long to get done as I needed something to get me back out into the world.
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. I decided to dedicate the car to my late wife and the awareness of lymphoma. I love driving this car and it is still my daily driver with over 90,000 miles and climbing. Each year I have added something new to get it where it is now including vinyl graphics, Diode dynamics lights, emblems and engine components dipped by Tuckahoe Hydrographics, and hood liner mural by Philly Native Clothing. It creates a lot of attention at shows.

YOUR MUSTANG IS CRAZY...

Growing up I have always had a passion and a strong love for the Ford Mustang. I was first introduced to the Mustang as a teenager in the 90s by my best friend and his dad. I remember stepping into there garage and helping remove the car cover as it quickly slipped off from all the wax revealing a well designed shiny Red 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback.
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. As that strong horse powered engine started and I heard the loud continuous rumble as we drove it around town, I knew then I was hooked on the Mustang and had to have one of my own someday.
Today I’m still a proud owner of a Mustang and blessed to have owned three Mustangs in my life time. To this day, I can be out and about and hear that roar and rumble of the engine that only the Ford Mustang has and feel like I did as a teenager since that first time I laid eyes on that 65 Mustang Fastback!
As my family and friends say, “James, your Mustang crazy!”

I am the original owner of this car. I wanted something fun to drive and wanted out of 4 door sedans. I test drove this 2014 GT and I knew this was the one for me. I had my wife drive it and we knew this was going to be our new sports car. I grew up at the race track and my first car was a 1974 Ford Maverick. It had a 351W and a 3 speed slap shifter. My dad built the car and I had to restore it, which gave me the love and knowledge of how to work on my own cars.
After about six years of owning the car, I wanted to start modding it to my liking and that’s when I met my soon to be “family” in the car club. We instantly got along and I started pouring money into this car to make it my one of a kind street car.
My wife and I love taking turns driving our boys and enjoying time with our car family!
