STANG Magazine Special Edition Issue: Spring Fever 2026
Mustang enthusiasts have asked for a magazine that has no ads, no sales pitches, and no bogus “fillers” to eat up space. They have asked for a magazine that is free, easy to access, and nothing but focused on Mustang pictures and content. They have asked for a magazine produced and written by Mustang owners. They have asked for a magazine that highlights the daily drivers and the average Mustang that is driven and is not a trailer queen. They have asked for the chance to one day have their ride, their group, their club, or their cause to be recognized in print or online. It is our absolute pleasure to meet these standards and to give you STANG Magazine. We hope that both our message and our image will be seen in every Mustang community out there. Thank you Mustang fans and enjoy your ride! - Daniel Ramey, Editor-In-Chief

IT IS HARD TO BELIEVE IT IS THE SAME CAR I STARTED WITH...
My name is Ryan Kothe and this is my 2000 Mustang GT. I’ve owned it since I was 17 and have been slowly building it for nearly 10 years (10 this June). I’d say it’s about 70% finished. I’ve always been a Mustang fanatic, largely because of my dad’s 1970 Mustang Coupe, and he’s been a big influence and help throughout this build.
When I bought the car, it was mostly stock aside from a worn custom paint job and a tubular K-member. Over the years, I rebuilt the engine with forged internals, cams, and a 2.1L Kenne Bell. Like most builds, it escalated quickly. I shaved the engine bay while the motor was out and later bagged the car. From there, I started collecting and restoring body parts, teaching myself how to repair plastics along the way. The car now wears Roush skirts and rear extensions, a Saleen spoiler, an ’01 Cobra front bumper, Mach 1 sail panels, and a carbon fiber GT500-style hood, all brought together with a fresh wrap.
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquir ing this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!
There’s still more I want to do, but I’m proud of how far it’s come. It is hard to believe it’s the same car I started with.
This past winter, I focused on the interior. Carbon fiber accents, new carpet, a suede headliner, and S550 seats front and rear. The biggest challenge was fitting an S550 center console, which required relocating the parking brake and modifying the shifter, but everything functions like factory and is color-matched to the dash.

IT ONLY SEEMED NATURAL TO DUB HER ACCORDINGLY...
MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!
I bought the car last year and as a gift to myself I saved for a long time after retiring from the USAF (23 Years). The car had many bad modifications done to it, but also some good ones. The hood was custom painted by a shop that doesn’t exist anymore. The engine bay was in really good shape and only needed me to make some small changes to fit my style. Some of the badging was changed and I had to repaint some of the parts as they were showing some wear. The primary work that I did was the suspension as the person who owned it prior had it on a terrible set of lowering springs. It was so low I couldn’t go over speed pumps. I had to back it into my drive way just to get it into my garage.
The list of mods is pretty extensive. Here are the major details. First it is a 2009 SVT Shelby GT500. The engine is mostly stock except for carbon fiber JLT cold air intake and the smaller METCO 2.6 supercharger pulley and idler kit. The hood has and interesting story that was passed on to me by the previous owner who had some colorful words to say about the process (I’ll leave them out for to keep this G rated). It’s a Cervinis hood with the Shelby hood pin kit (that’s discontinued BTW dreading when I have to replace it). The pins didn’t fit the hood properly so the hood had to be drilled and the caps had to be fiber glassed in place and $6000 later, it was finally finished. Not long after the hood was complete the shop closed its doors because of some shady business practices. As previously mentioned the ride height and quality was like riding a go-cart as it felt like it had zero suspension. It was overly stiff and just too damn low. The excessive wheel hop had the back end breaking loose so bad I nearly wrecked it twice just getting on the freeway. So I did some research on adjustable coil over suspensions and happened to find a

company out of Australia that deals with a bunch of race suspensions from the V8 super car series, Pedder. I ordered the eXtreme XA coil over suspension along with a BMR boxed rear control arms and the control arm relocation brackets. The ride quality dramatically improved and the wheel hop pretty much disappeared. It hooks up nicely now. The interior has a vinyl overlay that I’m not entirely happy with but, Italian leather is on the way. I am a huge comic book fan and and one of my favorites was the Roy Thomas and Barry Windsor comic Red Sonja. Since the car was red, it only seemed natural to dub her accordingly.

IT IS THE CULMINATION OF A LIFELONG JOURNEY BEHIND THE WHEEL...
My obsession with the Mustang was born in the passenger seat of my father’s, then new 1989 LX, where the smell of burnt rubber and the adrenaline of childhood donuts cemented the Foxbody as the gold standard of American soul. By sixteen, that spark became a reality with my first ’89 GT; it wasn’t a showpiece, but it was a masterclass in mechanical potential. Between installing Trick Flow intakes and cams, I learned that a Mustang’s true beauty isn’t in its paint, but in the feeling of shifting gears and surprising unsuspecting drivers with a car that ran much faster than it looked. Over the years, that passion matured through a series of Foxbodies - including a pristine ’93 GT I kept for sixteen years and a teal ‘93 Cobra that I modernized with a Boss 302 swap. Each car was a project that deepened my expertise in paint, custom tuning, and ground-up engine builds, teaching me exactly where the limit of control lies.
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. for all its technical sophistication and cornering prowess, the greatest joy isn’t found at the track - it’s in the simple, everyday moments, like flipping the exhaust into Track Mode and seeing the smiles on my kids’ faces as I drop them off at school. It may not be the rarest Shelby on the road, but it is the culmination of a lifelong journey behind the wheel.
While my heart will always belong to the analog era of the SN95 and New Edge platforms - like my 843-wheel-horsepower ’03 Cobra - there is a unique, refined ferocity in the modern S550. Transitioning to a 2020 GT500 has been the realization of a dream sparked by watching “Gone in Sixty Seconds” in high school. Heavily modified with long tubes, ID1300 injectors, and an SPE pulley, this 800-wheel-horsepower beast offers a different kind of thrill; it’s a car that feels most alive when you free it from its electronic shackles. Yet,

I HAVE AND WILL ALWAYS LOVE THE MUSTANGS...
My name is Richard Soesbee II and this is my 1992 Mustang LX Coupe nicknamed “Steel.” have owned Mustangs since the early 60s. My first Mustang was a 1967 coupe, 4 speed, 289ci.
I had a 1965 2+2 Fastback 289 auto, 1965 coupe 6 cylinder, and then got married, raised a family, and started back in the 90s and had a 1993 4 cylinder Coupe (had it for over 20 years, when we had the shortest of gas).
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. I then bought a 1997 Mustang Cobra 4.6 (put a supercharger (Vortech) on it, 4:10 gears, lowered it, and added many other mods to it). After that, I then bought this coupe in 2019 and kept everything stock (my favorite body style of the mustang).
It has been displayed in the Mustang Museum in Charlotte, North Carolina. The most recent Mustang I bought last year was a 2023 GT Premium with a coyote motor. I have and will always love the Mustangs.

MY DREAM HAS COME TRUE...
MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!
I love this car. I have wanted a 60s Mustang since I was in high school and always loved seeing the Mustangs lined up at car shows. When I came across this ‘68, it was an opportunity to finally own one. The car was used as a drag car and was badly abused. The car sat in my garage for ten years before the decision was made to start the full restoration. The project took 3 years to complete. The car has a numbers matching 302 which has been refreshed along with a custom interior. The gauges were not salvageable, so I went with a digital dash which came out perfectly! I wanted to stay true to era as much as possible, so the radio has an original fascia but it has blue tooth functions along with a USB port for all the music fun. When it gets warm out and I want to cruise, I use the original window cranks with a simple push down or up for the power windows to kick in.
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. All the glass needed to be replaced which took 6 months to acquire, finding places all over the U.S. to get the correct pieces. The chrome trim that was kept was all repaired and salvaged. Then the decision of Kona Blue was decided for the exterior color, with matching interior seats. The project was performed by Tony Gerweck of 2theT Customs in Jackson, MI. The car is a blast to drive and at night the LED Halo lights make roadways bright as day. The car has adjustable suspension giving it a great ride. My dream has come true with this beautifully transformed 1968 Mustang.

IT GAVE ME GOOSE BUMPS...
My name is Robert Alsup and I’ve owned 3 1/2 Mustangs so far and would still like to have a few more. The first one was an 1980 Mercury Capri then an 87 GT, 21 GT and this is “Praevelox”, a 2024 Dark Horse. Praevelox is Latin for “quick.”
The day I had seen one in person at the St. Louis Auto Show, it gave me goose bumps and I knew I had to have one. I’ve had her since December 2023. She stays in the garage but not for long. I’ve made some modifications to her and still have a wish list of more to come.

ORDERED THE MUSTANG WITH THE OPTIONS I WANTED...
My name is Harold Odahlen and this is my 1970 Mach 1 with a 351 4V Cleveland 4 speed. My wife nicknamed her the “Metal Mistress” as I was spending more time with the Mach than with her.
I am the original owner of the Mustang. I walked into the local Ford dealership in Brintwood, California back in November of 1969 and ordered the Mustang with the options I wanted. I put down $770 and on December 4, 1969, I took position of the Mustang. In March 1970, I was drafted into the Army but I was able to delay entry until August 1970. The Mustang sat in the garage for the next 2.5 years until I got home from the service.

In 1984, I had all the modifications performed. They are all done in metal, no fiberglass. I was the only modified Mustang in the nation to be in the 25th Anniversary calendar of the Mustang, by Mustang Club of America.

NOTHING MORE AWESOME AND POWERFUL AS THE MUSTANG...
MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!
I was born about 4 years before the Mustang was born and by the time I got into cars, which was about 6 or 7, I knew one day I would own a pony car. Both my dad and step-dad were mechanics and loved hot rods, so I came by loving them as well. I was always helping to soup their cars up. I was just in awe of how the Mustang progressed from the first ones then the Shelbys and the Boss to pretty much all of the different versions. The Chevrolets and the Mopars were ok I guess but to me there was nothing more awesome and powerful as the Mustang.
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. It is sad to say but I didn’t acquire my first pony car until I was 54, which was a 2014 Ruby Red metallic hard top. V6 and automatic, I know manual is the true muscle car. I added a Roush CAI, removed the mufflers for the low rumble, and had it tuned. Ran and sounded pretty good for a V6. Had it for about 6 years and alas traded for a F150 (Ford all the way) so I could haul lumber and other gardening and farming things. In 2023, I had the opportunity to purchase a low mileage 2007 Shelby GT500 and I did. I have done a few modifications to make it even better but I must say that adding the Eleanor side exhausts is my favorite. God willing I will have this one until I can’t drive anymore. Like I said my current car is a 2007 Red, with white stripes, Shelby GT500. I call her the “Beast” because of the pure power it has when I launch.

The color is Gulf Stream Aqua which was a Ford color and we tried to make it look all original by leaving the door handles, rear scoop, and louvers, and making the interior mostly original looking, not all aluminum sheet metal.
