NOVEMBER 2026

Mustang enthusiasts have asked for a magazine that has no ads, no sales pitches, and no bogus “fillers” to eat up space. They have asked for a magazine that is free, easy to access, and nothing but focused on Mustang pictures and content. They have asked for a magazine produced and written by Mustang owners. They have asked for a magazine that highlights the daily drivers and the average Mustang that is driven and is not a trailer queen. They have asked for the chance to one day have their ride, their group, their club, or their cause to be recognized in print or online. It is our absolute pleasure to meet these standards and to give you STANG Magazine. We hope that both our message and our image will be seen in every Mustang community out there. Thank you Mustang fans and enjoy your ride! - Daniel Ramey, Editor-In-Chief

My path to automotive delinquency began in the summer of 1984. I was an eleven-year-old, folded into the non-existent back seat of a silver and black Foxbody Mustang 5.0 like a piece of human origami. My friend’s dad, a man who clearly viewed speed limits as gentle suggestions, wound out each gear until the telephone poles blurred into a picket fence. The car’s guttural roar permanently rewired my adolescent brain.

Fast forward to the spring of ‘93. I’m a fresh-faced Airman at Little Rock AFB, reporting for duty, when I see it: a Cherry Red LX 5.0 Coupe gleaming in the parking lot like a beacon of poor financial decisions. The dormant gearhead goblin in my soul awoke with a screech. Unfortunately, my finances at the time consisted of instant ramen and a profound misunderstanding of interest rates, so a horse of my own remained firmly out of reach. Life went on. Then, thirty years later, I’m watching a YouTube review of the new 2024 S650 Mustang. That was it. My inner eleven-year-old had had enough. He kicked down the door to my sensible adult brain and screamed, “WE’RE DOING THIS!” I called my Ford salesman, Chris. He, being the devil on my shoulder I needed, recommended I go to Ford’s website to “just look.” “Spec out your dream car,” he said. “We can talk numbers when it gets here.” The logic was flawless. I’m turning 50 this year. Time is running out to be this irresponsible. Later that day, there I was, tongue out, brow furrowed in concentration, clicking options like a kid assembling a puzzle. Performance pack? Yes. Obnoxiously loud exhaust? Absolutely. After an hour of fiscally questionable choices, I hit “submit” and unleashed my creation upon the Ford Motor Company.

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquir ing this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!

Mustang. As we pulled into the dealership, there it was. My car. “What did you BUY?!?!” my wife shrieked, as the seatbelt’s inertia reel locked her in place with the force of a fighter jet maneuver. “Okay, look,” I stammered, pointing frantically. “Chris made me do it! He gave me the website and I went nuts. He’s an enabler!” The air in the showroom was thick enough to cut with a knife as we walked in. Chris greeted us, completely missing the marital storm cloud overhead. “Hey! Good news and bad news,” he said cheerfully. “The Mustang is here, but I couldn’t get the red seatbelts.” “Chris,” I hissed through a clenched smile, “She just found out about the car. Read the room.” We shared a nervous laugh. I turned to my wife, preparing to deploy every ounce of charm I had left. She just stared at the car, then back at me, a slow smile spreading across her face. “So, you bought a Mustang, eh?” she said. “Well... at least it’s not another woman or booze.” And just like that, I had my car and a green light. My Mustang story has come a long way, finally satisfying that little boy from 1984. And apparently, I have one “get out of jail free” card left.

The following months were a masterclass in obsession until the delivery day finally arrived, shrouded in secrecy. My wife, blissfully unaware of my treachery, was on her way with me to pick up her new, very sensible, 2023 Ford Escape. I had, through a stunning act of cowardice, not yet mentioned the

THAT’S JUST A NICKNAME...

My name is Daniel Desruisseaux and this is my 2004 Mustang GT Type R (Manual).

It is named “KITT” (after Knight Rider), featuring a 2005 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor engine, upgraded camshafts, and a modified locking differential with a mini-spool.

And the “Type R” designation? That’s just a nickname.

My name is Flora Bugg and I have a 2015 Mustang GT 50th Year Edition. I call her Island Girl. My passion is entering Island Girl in car shows around the counties here in Kentucky.

The Mustang is one of my dream cars since I was a teenager. I enjoy going to car shows and love the atmosphere. I enjoy meeting and hanging out with friends and meeting new people. When I’m not at shows, I work on adding new accessories to my car just to give more appeal to it. Oh and the best part of it, it is a manual. Need I say more!

EVERYONE LOVES THE SOUND OF...

This is SIlver Shadow, my 2006 Ford Mustang V6. I’ve always been interested in Mustangs since I was little. It has always been my dream to own one and now that I am able to finally get one, I can cross that off my bucket list.

I’ve always loved the body style of the pre facelift S197s. They have such elegant body lines. They also have the final edition of that amazing 4.6L 3 valve motor that everyone loves the sound of. I have very few mods on my car which include a cold air intake. Some future mods that I have planned are new rims and tires, a tune, and an exhaust.

ONE OF THE BIGGEST THRILLS OF MY LIFE...

My name is Stephen Labargo and this is my 2022 Mustang GT nicknamed “Cyberstang.” This was a retirement gift to myself that I special ordered with the Cyber Orange color, 6 speed manual, 3.55 ratio limited slip axle, Coyote 5.0 engine, and 18 inch wheels all around.

I have never owned a Mustang and my cousin Dennis talked me into it. I have won several awards - I believe mostly because of the color which seems to be more yellow in daylight and then more orange as it gets darker out. I enjoy driving a manual, especially on long journeys. She shifts smoothly and is aerodynamically stable. One of the biggest thrills of my life was being allowed to drive my car on the Daytona racetrack for a charity cause. I use my car more of an occasional driver as it has only 10,000 miles on it.

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. A PERSONALITY OF HER OWN...

My name is Tim Alexander and this is my 2021 Mustang GT named “Christine” just like the movie. If you have never seen it, the movie Christine is about a bullied teenager who buys a car named Christine that exhibits a toxic personality and becomes a bad influence on him. After the main character of the movie buys Christine, he undergoes a strange metamorphosis and he becomes cool. He develops an unhealthy obsession with his car.

My Christine definitely has a personality of her own and she is a 6 speed manual residing with me in Harrisburg, North Carolina. PHOTO CRED: TIM ALEXANDER

I HAD IT SHIPPED TO PENNSYLVANIA ON MY WIFE’S BIRTHDAY...

My name is Brian Gallik and this is my Mustang. It is a 2005 Mustang GT that I bought new that year from Corbin, Kentucky because my local dealer couldn’t get the Legend Lime color. I had it shipped to Pennsylvania on my wife’s birthday. She loved it!

Since we got it, l have changed the front to a 2007 GT500 with all Ford parts. I also changed the hood and installed hood struts. I also replaced the rear spoiler with a GT500 spoiler and replaced the stock rims. I then installed Bassani exhaust, under drive pulleys, a cold air intake, and a tune by Breenspeed.

SECRETARIAT - 1998 MUSTANG GT

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!

IT ALWAYS MEANT SOMETHING MORE THAN JUST A CAR...

My Mustang has been part of my life from the very beginning. My mom bought it brand new in 1997 when I was a freshman in high school, and it became the first car I ever drove. It wasn’t just transportation - it was pride, freedom, and something I learned to respect early on. Over the years, life changed, priorities shifted, and the car spent time tucked away in my mom’s garage, but it was never forgotten. No matter how much time passed, it always meant something more than just a car.

Today, nearly 28 years later, that same Mustang is sitting in my driveway, still turning heads and still a part of my everyday life. I’ve always called it “Secretariat” - a name that came from the power under the hood, but also from the fact that it stayed hidden away for years before making its return. Now, I get to enjoy it with my boys, sharing the same feeling I had when I was their age. It’s more than a build to me - it’s a piece of my past, my present, and something I hope to pass down one day.

WHITE LIGHTNING - 2009 MUSTANG GT/CS

NOW I HAVE TWO SPECIAL CARS...

This is my 2009 Ford Mustang GT/CS. I call it “White Lightning.” I purchased this 2009 Mustang GT/CS about three years ago with only 5,700 miles on it. I always wanted a white Mustang with a black stripe down the side and when I saw this 2009 GT California Special I said that’s the car I wanted.

I also have a 70 Mach 1 Twister Special clone. I told myself now I have two special cars - a Twister Special and a California Special. I went ahead and purchased it from the owner that the husband had passed away. He purchased it brand new at Ford Performance, put a Roush supercharged set up on it, fiberglass hood, and changed the rear end with the spoiler and the sequential tinted tail lights. It also has Foose 18 inch wheels on it, a 5-speed stick shift, long tube headers, custom detailed engine compartment, and the interior has all detailed custom items installed.

The GT/CS gets a lot of compliments wherever it goes. I take the car to a lot of shows and it has won many awards and one Best of Show.

PERF PK2 - 2020 MUSTANG GT

MY CONNECTION TO THIS CAR RUNS DEEPER...

I purchased my 2020 Ford Mustang GT with the Performance Package 2 option on Memorial Day 2022 and it immediately felt like more than just a car. It felt like a milestone. Finished in striking Velocity Blue with a bold Showstopper Red interior, it has a presence that turns heads everywhere it goes.

The Performance Package 2 option transforms a basic Mustang into a true driver’s machine, with razor-sharp handling, upgraded suspension, and track-ready capability that makes every drive feel intentional and connected. What makes it even more special is its rarity. Marti Report verified as 1 of just 3 produced in this exact color and trim combination out of 673 PP2s built for 2020. That level of exclusivity adds a deeper sense of pride every time I get behind the wheel.

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. CHUCK DEKETT

My connection to this car runs deeper than specs or rarity, it is rooted in family history. When I was a kid, my father owned a 1967 Shelby GT500, and that car left a lasting impression on me. The sound, the styling, and the feeling it created planted the seed for a lifelong passion for Fords. Owning this Mustang feels like carrying that legacy forward, blending modern performance with the emotional connection that started decades ago. Every time I start the engine, it’s not just about the drive, it’s about honoring where that passion began and keeping it alive.

SPEED IS A WAY TO SAY WHO YOU ARE WITHOUT WORDS...

This is my 2007 Shelby GT/SC #34 of 50 produced and fully documented by Shelby American. It is a National show winner and featured in a National calendar, which I’m very proud of.

Cars are not just transportation; they’re a way of life. Speed is a way to say who you are without words. I always preferred factory stock limited examples. Carroll Shelby was always my hero. I had the opportunity to buy this very limited production Shelby, and since it was a Shelby, it was a no brainer.
