I WILL NEVER FORGET THOSE MEMORIES GROWING UP.
This is my 2006 Mustang GT. 199k miles daily driven for the last 10 years. Since I was a boy I can remember my father bringing Mustangs home, the burnouts and riding shotgun... I will never forget those memories growing up. September 1, 2025 my father passed. RIP POPS.
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquir ing this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!
I had my first Mustang GT at age 16 and it was a 1986 convertible white with black top, black stripe on hood, and 347 under the hood. Five or six Mustangs later is this gorgeous 2006 Vista Blue Mustang GT that I call THE MUSSY. It has JLT3 CAI, full ported throttle body, no cats, X-pipe, single chambered Blackwidow Angry Housewives mufflers with Mother Thumper cams, phaser lock out, Mcleod clutch, and lightened flywheel with a few other odds and ends as well as it is tuned. Bama has been tuning it for the last 10 years.
I take all my own photos and I have no problem stopping and jumping out for pictures. My other half Tasha used to think that I was crazy but now Tasha is a huge supporter and has MUSSY gear made all the time . She is always making sure my shirts and sweatshirts are up to date. One thing I can say is
after 10 years, the smile on my face every time THE MUSSY starts makes me feel like a kid again and I still enjoy doing all the work myself... thanks to my father.

OFF OF ONE OF MY CHILDHOOD SHOWS.

To me the S197 is as close as we’ll ever see to the original Fastback probably and to me personally, the last true Mustang body that keeps that classic Mustang look to it. After getting rid of my New Edges, I was on the hunt for another Mustang. I’ve always loved the S197s for their original 60s Fastback retro look and little did I know taking a trip out of state would land me being drawn to a S197. On the way near the state line, I ran across this little off the wall lot with a black 05 Premium sitting at it. For some reason my mind went to instantly wanting that Mustang as if it put a spell on me. Always wanting a Fastback and being young, I knew the S197 was my second best bet to that considering the sleek retro look Ford brought out for that model. Once I picked it up I started planning out what I called, at the time, project “retrofied.”
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I tracked down original OE, not reproduction parts, and modified to fit the car. I started with the fender badges and scripts and worked my way up.
out there and learned a lot while doing so with welding, trimming and cutting, and stuff like that.
While right now I can’t make that childhood love of the first gen Fastback come true, my S197 is dang close to it. I plan to keep adding to the retro theme and keeping this one long as me or it survives. While I love all Mustangs and have been a Mustang lover since I was little (introduced to them by a 98 that my mom had) this is probably my favorite of the ones I’ve owned. Even though it isn’t perfect, it is still one of my favorites and fun to build ones.

As for the nickname, yes I get a lot of hate for it being called Lucifer. But while having the retro theme this Mustang is also based off of one of my childhood shows. The Dukes of Hazzard. Lucifer was a 68 I believe or 67 black Fastback mustang driven by Amy Creavy (Roz Kelly) in the episode Luke’s love story. I wanted to both incorporate the retro theme along with a unique Dukes of Hazzard tribute into one car as that was a unique done S197 and a nice modern take on the classics both Dukes wise and first gen wise.
While it may not be everyone’s taste, I built it as my own vision and something more unique compared to a lot of the S197s

SHIFTING MY FOCUS FROM A SHOW CAR TO A SERIOUS PERFORMANCE MACHINE.
Krystal, a stunning 2001 Bullitt Mustang GT, is more than just a car; she’s a rolling piece of personal history. As one of only 722 produced in True Blue, she was a rare find, brought home in 2019 completely stock. The “New Edge” Mustangs held a special allure for me, representing the peak of cool during my high school and college graduations. Initially, the plan was a nostalgic build - outfitting her with the retro-cool parts I lusted after as a younger man. That vision, however, took a sharp left turn at Ford Fest in Bowling Green. One exhilarating ridealong on the autocross course was all it took; the immediate rush and competitive challenge were completely captivating, permanently shifting my focus from a show car to a serious performance machine.
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. pieces like the Carter’s Custom chin spoiler, rear diffuser, and hood heat extractor hint at her new purpose. This journey isn’t just mine; my son and I now regularly enjoy autocrossing with the KYSCCA and taking Krystal to major events like Ponies in the Smokies and Ford Fest.

Since that defining moment, Krystal has been undergoing a focused transformation aimed squarely at shaving seconds off the clock. She’s been outfitted with a formidable list of upgrades, including a Maximum Motorsports coilover conversion, a panhard bar, new rear control arms, and an array of bracing like the shock tower brace and k-member brace to tighten her chassis. The engine and drivetrain also got attention with 4:10 gears, Howard’s Rattler cams, and a short-throw shifter to deliver power more aggressively. Aerodynamic

IT WAS A GIFT TO MYSELF...
I purchased this 2020 Grabber Lime EcoBoost from Temecula Ford for a Christmas present to myself. I picked her up 12/24/20 as a new daily. I was transferring my job at the time to a different city and knew I needed something easier to drive than the 2014 GT I own. It was a gift to myself to remind me that it’s ok to start over. Life isn’t over just because a bad relationship ended.
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I don’t know the exact production numbers of the grabber lime color but I know there isn’t very many in the EcoBoost line for that year. Grabber Lime is a one year color for 2020.
The car is nicknamed Gir (like from Invader Zim) because she’s a cute little menace. Everyone always tells me they love the color of the car and it stands out wherever I go. She’s been everywhere and takes me to/from Vegas quite a few times a year. She’s a great traveling car with all the creature comforts like a big navigation screen, great speakers for music and a soft clutch that doesn’t give me issues in traffic. She brings a smile to my face every day.
I plan to build her into a somewhat personalized not full blown show car in the coming years just so that if I’m out somewhere
and just happen to come across a meet/show I’m not showing up with a completely stock car. She has a few mods on right now but most of that is suspension.

MAY BE THE EARLIEST PRODUCED 2022 MACH 1...
My name is Thomas Cooke III and this is my 2022 Mustang Mach 1, affectionately nicknamed “Cheeto.” This exceptionally rare car may be the earliest produced 2022 Mach 1 still in existence. Finished in Cyber Metallic Orange, “Cheeto” carries dash tag TT002 - likely the first Mach 1 ever painted in this color. It’s equipped with a 10R80 transmission, Steeda tuning, Steeda frame braces, and a Borla crossfire resonator delete, making it both a collector’s piece and a performance standout.
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. My passion for the Mustang began early, inspired by my father’s 1970 Boss 302 in Grabber Yellow. Ever since riding in that car as a child, I’ve dreamed of owning a Mustang of my own. About eight years ago, I fulfilled that dream with a 2010 GT in Candy Red, which I modified extensively with a Vortec supercharger and numerous performance upgrades.
I actually came across my current Mach 1 by chance while visiting my girlfriend at the time, now my wife, and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to own such a special car.

PROUD MEMBER OF THE CALIFORNIA SPECIAL WORLDWIDE MUSTANG CLUB.
Purchased as a retirement present from me to me, ROYS CS is a 2007 GT/CS which was nearly stock except for Eibach springs, a Roush Spoiler, and a Hurst short throw shifter. Mileage was 5310 and is currently 11300. I swapped out the Eibachs for some Ford Motorsports P springs for a smoother ride and added KYB shocks and struts with American Muscle 19” staggered rims wrapped in Sumitomo HTR Z III tires with 245/45 up front and with 275/40 out back.

Under the hood is mostly stock except for a JLT CAI with a SCT tune and chrome fluid caps for appearance, with some owner created under hood artwork for uniqueness. Audio is handled by a Kenwood 9903s head unit, with Rockford Fosgate 6”x8” speakers all around and a 10” powered Rockford Fosgate subwoofer in the trunk and 8” Kicker subs running off the stock amps provide for some thump. A backup camera and a 2010 steering wheel with audio, phone and cruise controls finish the entertainment system. And yes, all buttons work.
The Death Star shifter knob from Etsy adds a touch of fun.I am a proud member of the California Special Worldwide Mustang Club.
