IT HAS BEEN A GOOD LEARNING CURVE...
MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!
This is my 1966 Mustang Coupe and it has gone through a bare metal rotisserie restoration. The panels and paint were done by the previous owner and the engine, suspension, and running gear done by myself and friends of mine. The car is running a mild 302 Windsor, C4 auto with a shift kit and a 3000 stall. Wheels are Street Pro 002 15 x 6 on the front and 15 x 8.5 on the rear with BF Goodrich radial T/As all round. It
has Dakota digital VHX gauges, AeroFlow Bangshift ratchet shifter, 2.5” exhaust with Hooker aero chamber mufflers, reset rear leaf springs, and lowered front springs with Koni red shocks all round.
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquir ing this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!
As far as my passion goes, the decision to build a Mustang came from my wife. She is a big fan of the 66 coupes. My must haves were decent panel and paint and the rest we can do at home. Since having the car, it’s given us the opportunity to meet a lot of super cool, friendly, and helpful people that live and breathe Mustangs new and old.
Having come from Rotary’s, it has been a good learning curve but building on a solid base has made life easy due to the car and the parts that are available has blown me away.
People I’d like to thank are my wife Kelly, daughter Kenzie, Ayrton, Corey, John, Matt R., Kurto, James, Matt W., Adrian, Warren at Roadway Customs, Ken at Totally Tuned and Rob at Sydney Mustang Parts.

SILVYA - 2013 MUSTANG GT

SHE WAS DESTINED TO BE MINE...
This is my 2013 Mustang GT named Silvya.
I was in the market for a car. Driving past the dealership one day, there she sat. She had been there for a while and I never dreamed that I would own her or any other Mustang for that matter. We had taken our annual trip to visit my parents in Florida. While at a car show there, I decided that if by chance that Stang was still at the dealership when we returned home, I was going to have her.
So we returned home and first thing I did was go by the dealership and what do ya know, she was still there as beautiful as ever. She was destined to be mine and the rest is history. She is my dream car. Took me until my kids were grown to get one, but now I’m living the dream.

I IMMEDIATELY FELL IN LOVE...
Here is my GRABBER... a 2011 GT California Special premium. It has the 5.0 V8 Coyote engine, 6 speed manual transmission, 302 BOSS intake manifold and JLT Cold intake, 19 inch Argent machined aluminum stock wheels, halo projector headlights and dual chrome Flowmaster exhaust with the Shaker 1000 stereo system. Interior is leather trim sport seats, charcoal black natural grain with carbon fiber accents. It is #17 out of 170 manufactured in the Grabber Blue color for that year. It is certified by Ford Performance Group as a limited special edition.

It all started after seeing the movie Gone in 60 Seconds, I have since admired the Ford Mustang with its sporty streamed line body, rumbling exhaust, and it’s vibrant colors. I even named my youngest daughter Shelby after the car. My first Mustang was a black 2002 V6 convertible that I owned for five years. I decided to sell that and upgrade to a 5.0. I wanted the car in blue and Grabber Blue was my go to. I searched online for months looking for the right one. I found one 500 miles away at a reputable dealership. I basically bought the car over the phone, sight unseen, only had pics and videos from the salesman and I had a shipping company pick it up and bring it right to my home. It was one of the happiest days of my life and I immediately fell in love.
The car is my pride and joy. It is my escape from bad days and brings me relief. There is nothing like driving around with the windows down and the music blaring. It brings joy to others seeing it in public and at car shows.

TRUE STORY - 2014 SHELBY GT500

TIRES SHREDDING, GAS BURNING BEAST...
This is my 2014 GT500 I bought back in 2019. It’s my very first manual car. When I first got approved to get it, I was supposed to take it for a test drive but didn’t because I couldn’t drive a manual. The sales person couldn’t as well. True story. It started to drizzle a little and the car had those original Good Year F1 tires on it. Worst tires to ever own by the way. So I told the sales person I’m not test driving it in the rain with those bald tires. After signing all the paperwork, I had to get the sales manager to load it up on the car trailer. I could ride a motorcycle but at the time, not drive a manual car.
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. My first mod was muffler deletes. Then it progressed to cams, long tubes, pulley, injectors, E85, Cobra Jet lowering springs, and BMR upper/lower control arms. It’s now a 780 hp, tires shredding, gas burning beast. #Loud5.8 is my Tik Tok.

GERTRUDE - 2021 MACH 1

MY 2021 FORD MUSTANG MACH 1 IS EXTRA SPECIAL...
I’ve had several Mustangs through the years, but my 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1 is extra special. Her name is Gertrude, named after my Great Grandmother who adored ponies/ horses. They called her a “horse woman” in the early 1900s. She loved working with the horses in the fields. Gertrude is my “last ride.” I had to trade in my 6 speed Mustang because I had a stroke. I also deal with MS and a number of other problems.
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. My first car was a 1978 Mustang II. Through the years, we have had several Mustangs including a 2006, 2014, and a 2017. When my husband and I bought the Mach 1, it was stock. Since purchasing her seven months ago, I have changed her look. Mach 1s were built as “street legal race cars”, so that became my theme. Slowly, I have been adding the decals and dressing up the engine. We hope to be adding a Procharger in the next few months. Currently, it does have a tune on it and is pushing 500 hp. Now, I love to spend time at car shows and meets with our Mustang club and close friends.

AM JUST GOING TO KEEP CRUISING...
My first experience with a Mustang was my parents’ 1994 V6 convertible. Forest Green with a tan top and tan interior. It was basically new in 1995 when they brought it home. I was 8 years old. Fast forward to 2007, the transmission on my 1997 T-Bird grenaded while drag racing it. The 94 convertible was given to me. 225,000 miles, a torn top, and I drove it with the top down for almost six months.
Fast forward again and it is now 2014. I’m at the Oregon State Fair. Ford has a booth there with a 2015 Mustang GT, 6 speed, and in Shadow Black. I said I will own that car one day. It took me until 2021 to get it. I drag race it, autocross, and show it. I love every second driving it. It is stock under the hood. It has Magnaflow catback exhaust and Steeda springs. It also has the factory Recaro leather seats. I added the wing and vinyls. One day it will get a Whipple, but until than, I am just going to keep cruising!

SENDYLOU - 1984 MUSTANG GT
UNAPOLOGETICALLY ROWDY...
MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!
My name is Crystal Noe and this is my 1984 Mustang GT hatchback, “Sendylou.”
Sendylou wasn’t a pristine survivor - she was a $400 rescue. We purchased her from a friend who had accumulated three Foxbody Mustangs while attempting to build one complete car. By the time we brought her home, she was in rough shape. The original engine was locked up, the 5-speed transmission was sitting in the rear hatch, and the rear brakes had been gutted with the lines pinched off - someone’s improvised version of a line lock. She deserved better.
We had a drivetrain ready for a future project and she quickly became the one. What followed was nearly two years of late nights, rebuilding, correcting past shortcuts, and carefully bringing a forgotten Fox back to life. Like any true project car, she continues to evolve - but today she is fully street-driven, track-proven, and unapologetically rowdy.
Current setup includes 5.3L LS engine paired with a 4L60E transmission (Chevy Express van donor), AJE tubular suspension, Power Stop braking system, 3.55 rear gears and long tube headers with full 3-inch exhaust.
The LS-powered combination in a lightweight ’84 GT gives the car a unique edge. She’s loud, responsive, and built to be driven - not trailered. I regularly compete at our local 1/8-mile tracks where she delivers strong, consistent passes and often surprises those who don’t expect that kind of attitude from a hatchback.
I grew up in a Chevy family, but I always admired Foxbody Mustangs. When I was a kid, there wasn’t much that could
outrun them. Building Sendylou allowed me to combine that childhood admiration with hands-on craftsmanship and a drivetrain setup that reflects both sides of my automotive roots. There’s something fitting about a little cross-brand rebellion inside a classic ’84 GT.
Sendylou isn’t a trailer queen. She’s driven, raced, and earned every bit of her story. She’s savage and sexy and she turns heads for more than one reason. She represents resilience, creativity, and grassroots performance - a once-overlooked Foxbody brought back with purpose and personality.

ENJOY THE OPEN ROAD UNDER A CLEAR BLUE SKY...
My wife and I live in Stewiacke, Nova Scotia in Canada. We have always enjoyed going for day trips or splitting a week of vacation into two or three 2-day or 3-day road trips on our Harley Davidson Fat Boy for many, many years.
As we got older, my wife ended up needing a hip replacement and couldn’t get on the back of the bike anymore so I decided to sell it and get a convertible so we could still both enjoy the open road under a clear blue sky.
We didn’t have a certain vehicle in mind when we looked for a convertible but after lots of searching, we ended up buying a beautiful 2006 Mustang GT Premium Convertible in showroom condition from an elderly couple with only 35,000 kms or roughly 20,000 miles on it. It is the original “Redfire” paint and my wife named her “Marilyn Merlot” after her love of wine and the wine-colored car.

Edition “Bullitt-style“ chrome wheels and Michelin Pilot A/S 4 tires.
We love our car and the joy it brings us going to car shows and random road trips. It has been trouble-free and drives like a new car. Purchasing this Mustang has been one of the best decisions we have made.
Every year we would add something to personalize it. We started with a Kenwood 7” touch screen stereo with Apple Car Play and Android Auto, a back-up camera, cell phone holders and dual usb charging ports with battery/alternator voltage meter. We then installed a hood scoop, side scoop and chin spoiler. The following year, we added a styling bar and the year after that, a Roush cold air intake. A year later, we purchased a brand new set of American Racing, Special

NUMBERS MATCHING CAR...
This gorgeous car is owned by my other half, Greg Danowsky. He purchased her from a previous owner, had her painted in her original color, and put her back together himself.
This is a numbers matching car, original glass all around, and lots of time and love went into restoring her.
She is beautiful and proud to grace the pages of STANG Magazine!
