STANG Magazine December 2026: Editor's Choice Issue
Mustang enthusiasts have asked for a magazine that has no ads, no sales pitches, and no bogus “fillers” to eat up space. They have asked for a magazine that is free, easy to access, and nothing but focused on Mustang pictures and content. They have asked for a magazine produced and written by Mustang owners. They have asked for a magazine that highlights the daily drivers and the average Mustang that is driven and is not a trailer queen. They have asked for the chance to one day have their ride, their group, their club, or their cause to be recognized in print or online. It is our absolute pleasure to meet these standards and to give you STANG Magazine. We hope that both our message and our image will be seen in every Mustang community out there. Thank you Mustang fans and enjoy your ride! - Daniel Ramey, Editor-In-Chief

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquir ing this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!
ONE OF THE BEST THAT I HAVE EVER HAD!
My first car was a 1969 notchback Mustang. I’ve had about a dozen since then! All of them in high school. I also had an Orange 1970 Mach 1 that was a 428 with orange interior! I sold it in 1984 because I was buying a house and having the first of three sons.
My current ride is a 2005 Saleen but my two other toys are a 1935 Ford pickup and a 2003 Shensin edition Miata. I bought my Saleen in 2011. It is quite a unique Mustang and one of the best that I have ever had!

THIS CAR WAS MY BEST FRIEND’S...
My name is Mark Kirsch and this car was my best friend’s from high-school. He was killed on a motorcycle in 2008. It is a 1965 Mustang. I call her “Lita 2.0.”
Someone else bought the car and had it until 2024. I found out that person passed away also and his wife was selling everything. I found the car in a body shop all stripped.
I had a shop years ago and my body/paint guy kept working with my customers. He told me he would help put it back together. This was a 6 month restoration and the pictures show what it looked like when I bought it.

A LIFE MEANT TO BE SHARED...
My name is Lucia Martuccio and this is my 1966 Ford Playmate Pink Mustang GT Convertible nicknamed “Mustang Sammy.”
In the late 1970s, at the age of 33, my father Sam was injured in an industrial accident before I was born, leaving him legally blind and unable to work. My dad’s car passion turned into something completely remarkable, restoring three classic cars visually impaired; a ‘65 Fastback, ‘64 Falcon, ‘66 GT Convertible.
In the early 80s, a pink pony was a dream as a kid helping my dad in the garage as he was restoring a Mustang for my brother. He taught me how to read by reading him classified ads to look for parts as there was no internet available then. The dream came true in 2008 when my dad and his friend brought home a 1966 Mustang Convertible in need of a lot of love.
In 2010, after 2.5 years of working daily in the garage, this Mustang was given a new life and gifted to me for my 30th birthday. I named her Mustang Sammy after my dad. The car itself is stunning! But the real beauty is the man behind the rebuild who overcame his challenges.
Though my dad has since passed, not only did he leave behind special cars, he left something bigger than himself - a life meant to be shared.

NOTHING SOUNDS QUITE AS GOOD...
This is my dad’s 1969 Mustang; a few years ago I saved up some money and went to Michigan to pick up this old girl to give it a new home to my very deserving and loving father, Darrel Skifton.
He’s been solid as a rock my whole life and I’m grateful to be able to put a smile on his face any chance I get. The car’s name is “SUSIE” after my mom; they have been married for 48 years so far, and still going strong on the family farm in Caledonia, MN.
The car is a 1969 Mustang Grande, originally a 6-cylinder car; now with a Blueprint 302, outputting around 315HP, mated to an AOD automatic transmission, MBRP exhaust, mid-length headers, and a Holley Sniper EFI system. Nothing sounds quite as good as a Small Block Ford!

IT IS A TRUE STAND OUT PIECE...
My Mustang passion runs deep, especially for the blend of performance, heritage, and raw driving feel that the Roush builds bring to the table. There’s something special about the sound of a supercharged V8 coming to life and the way it transforms every drive into an experience rather than just transportation. I’ve always appreciated cars that have personality, and this Mustang delivers exactly that - aggressive when you want it, but still refined enough to enjoy on a relaxed cruise.

My current Mustang is a 2010 Ford Mustang Roush RPT Convertible, supercharged and built as a limited production car with only 35,000 miles on the clock. It is a true standout piece that I often refer to as the “Roush RPT.” The photos capturing this car were taken by Deb James and Mel James, showcasing both the detail and character that make this Mustang such a meaningful part of my garage and driving life.

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!
I have always been a Mustang admirer since childhood but never owned one until 2024. I started looking into Shelby GT500s in particular and lucked into this pre-production car that I found on the internet. It turns out that this Shelby is the first Kona Blue Mustang made in 2011 and the third Shelby Mustang made of the 4,150 coupes. This pre-production car was used for product planning and styling by Ford and has a very low serial number 100151. My car has the glass roof and Performance Package options. My Shelby has 52,000 miles now but Ford put the first 20,000 miles or so on the car. I drive it as often as possible. Just as Carroll said, these cars were meant to be driven. Being a man of faith, the first thing I did after purchasing was to have the under-hood insulator hand painted to reflect that faith.
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. planted during spirited driving sessions. The JLT intake and the smaller pulley were on the car when I purchased it. I’m looking to swap the supercharger to a larger unit soon and add more power. This Shelby is so much fun to drive and handles like a real American muscle car. I feel really privileged to own such a part of Mustang history.
2011 is a year of many firsts like the aluminum block 5.4L, glass roof, electronic power assist steering, and the SVT performance package. This Shelby had some performance upgrades from previous owners and I continue to add more as the mileage goes up and components wear. Recent upgrades are aluminum driveshaft, MGW shifter, Mantic dual disc clutch, 2013/14 seven blade fan plus shroud and VMP triple pass HE. I’ve also added lots of suspension components and the Velgen VF-9 wheel/tire combo to keep the power

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!
This is my 1993 GT convertible in Reef Blue. She is mostly stock, 13k miles. Two years ago I put a new top on it, the old one started to dry rot. Last year I lowered her, using SR Performance progressive rate springs. Everything else is original. I am the second owner. Marti report shows she is 1 of 46 with these options.
She is the baby of the house. I put about 2k miles on her a year. Such a fun car to drive! Her name is Foxy... or Tiffany. My husband says Tiffany fits better, she is like the little blue box with the white bow on top.
When I was in high school my first car was a 1981 hatchback. Complete piece of junk, but i loved it. Bought it myself, $800. 4 cylinder, 4 speed. I always wanted a 5.0, but my dad said no way, you’ll just get in trouble with it. Then life happened, hubby, house, kids... and cars put on hold. When my youngest turned 16, I started my search for my dream Foxbody. Took me almost 2 years to find her and when I did, oh boy I was in tears. The first person I called was the hubby! But the first place I drove her was to my dad’s. I pulled in the driveway and announced, “well I finally got my 5.0.” He laughed, took the keys and off we went. Been nothing but fun since day 1!
My daily driver is a 1966 Mustang coupe. I6, 3 speed manual. I call her Green Machine. 81k miles on her and all original, even the paint and interior! Everyone thought I was crazy, I sold a 2013 to buy Ole green. Telling everyone I want to drive something cool, something fun and something simple. She is absolutely the best! My dad loves this one the most. There are days he will walk into my work, hand me the keys to his truck and hold his hand out for the keys to green. Shes all yours dad! Go have fun!
My husband has a 1989 LX Hatchback. Slightly modified! After I bought my second Mustang the hubby couldn’t take it anymore. He just had to join the fun. That’s when the search started for his toy. After about 6 months of searching we came home with “Waldo” named after his father. The car has been a rollercoaster of fun and issues. 90/20 fun to headaches.
I work for the greatest place to work for being a Mustang owner and lover. I work for RFK Racing as the museum curator. I spend my days babysitting some of the coolest Fords and Mustangs ever. Often I park my beauties right at the front door.

BOTH WORLDS - 1969 MACH 1 AND 2024 DARK HORSE
MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!
IT IS THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS...
I grew up with Mustang. I have built every generation of Mustang or Cobra for over 25+ years.
In my mind, the 1969 Mach 1 is the quintessential Mustang. When most people hear Mustang, this is the model they see.
The Mach 1 was the every-person car; it was the affordable Shelby-Lite version that most people could afford at the time. In 1969, this car sold for a base price of $3022.70 and $4032.11 with options. That’s a solid buy in 69.
If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. The 2024 Dark Horse is the pinnacle of Mustang production. The very first of its kind, built by Ford specifically for racing.
In this build, I had it with all the fixings, handling package, performance package, and the cherry on top, carbon fiber wheels at no extra cost. The only thing missing is a supercharger.
It’s like Jekyll and Hyde, Ying and Yang, apple pie and ice cream. It is the best of both worlds.
I can pick up the kids from school in it, I can go grocery shopping with it, and have it at the racetrack that night.

My is Jason Perilli and this is my 13th Mustang. My first one was a 1986 Mustang GT bought in 1992. I raced mod motor back in 1998 and 99. Had one of, if not the first 2 valve in the 1’s back in 1996 and won a few NMRA and Fun Ford races back in the late 1990s.

We switched to Super Street Outlaw in 2000 (with what would be my future brother in law... that’s another story) and placed 7th in points with a 1984 stock suspension Mustang that went 8.55@160.
Fast forward 10 or so Mustangs later and I now own a 2022 Mustang GT. It is a N/A car that made just under 500 rwhp. Actually put down 487/423. Mods are Stainless Works 1 7/8 long tube headers with their H-pipe and the stock Ford active mufflers and JLT cold air. Tuned by Lidio at Alternative Auto on E85.

My name is MJ Clemens and I don’t usually advertise my car. It’s been held quietly in a private collection for many years. I have the 1965 Mustang Shelby movie car used in the 2007 Warner Brothers filming of The Bucket List, and driven by Morgan Freeman. It is documented by VIN by Warner Brothers Studios and by the Hollywood builder, Ghostlight Industries.
This is the real movie car and it is a 1965 Mustang Shelby GT350R Tribute. You definitely have to watch the movie as it stars two of the greats - Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson.

LIL MISS ATTITUDE - 1965 MUSTANG FASTBACK
57+ YEARS LATER AND COUNTING!
In early March of 1969 I was 15 years old living in Cheyenne, WY where I was born and raised. I had just experienced the highest of highs as my father had just said yes to my question. My question? Could I buy a motorcycle from the money I had made from my paper route. Then my dream was squelched by my Mom who said absolutely not! So they conferred and from that said they would be willing to buy me a car. So on March 14, 1969 we purchased that car. A 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback, built 10/24/64, with a 289 2 Barrel Engine, C4 Transmission, Prairie Bronze Exterior color with Palomino interior color for $1,105.00. Little did I know then, she would still be with me to this day, 57+ years later and counting!

I loved that car but acquir ing this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!
My Father and I spent a great deal of time the first several years modifying the engine, changing the interior to Black and repainting her Fresca Blue in 1974. The Mustang was instrumental in meeting what would become my wife in the Summer of 74. We will be celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary September 4th of this year. She spent many nights while we were dating watching Dad and I work on the Mustang. I KNEW then she was the one! I left the car with my parents when I graduated from the University of Wyoming in May 1976 and moved south. I finally got to bring her down to Baton Rouge, LA in the Spring of 1984 where I had a garage I could put her in. Eventually issues arose that required mechanical work on her and she pretty much sat. Then in the Summer of 2016 Baton Rouge experienced a catastrophic rain event resulting in 4.5 feet of water flooding our home, vehicles, and completely submerging the Mustang. The Mustang sat for 6 years and then I reconnected with a college buddy Gerald Green, who is a Master Mechanic of over 40 years. He owns Black Widow Rod Shop in Daytona Beach, FL. He has been a builder of cars of all types for most of his adult
life, including several that have raced on the strip. I met him in Daytona Beach and we formed a plan to revive my Mustang. I spent the next 4+ months flying down on multiple occasions, each time staying a week or more to do a complete mechanical rebuild on her from back to front. We incurred numerous major internal part failures along the way resulting in us having to rebuild her completely on multiple occasions, thus my patient and understanding wife named her “Lil Miss Attitude.”
Over the last year I have had the interior completely redone thanks to Steve Bateman, owner of Pony Up Garage in Denham Springs, LA. Unfortunately my Dad never got to see this as he passed away but now I am finally able to enjoy taking her to weekend car shows and being fully engaged with our local Mustang Club - The Baton Rouge Area Mustangers, where I am currently serving as VP.
