STANG Magazine August 2026 Issue

Page 1

Mustang enthusiasts have asked for a magazine that has no ads, no sales pitches, and no bogus “fillers” to eat up space. They have asked for a magazine that is free, easy to access, and nothing but focused on Mustang pictures and content. They have asked for a magazine produced and written by Mustang owners. They have asked for a magazine that highlights the daily drivers and the average Mustang that is driven and is not a trailer queen. They have asked for the chance to one day have their ride, their group, their club, or their cause to be recognized in print or online. It is our absolute pleasure to meet these standards and to give you STANG Magazine. We hope that both our message and our image will be seen in every Mustang community out there. Thank you Mustang fans and enjoy your ride! - Daniel Ramey, Editor-In-Chief

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!

If you asked me if I thought I’d be writing an article for STANG Magazine for my car this time last year I would’ve said no. If you asked me if I would be writing it about a different car than the 2005 Roush Mustang I had I would’ve said hell no. I loved that car but acquir ing this one reinvigorated my passion for car shows and events!

IF YOU HAVE A DREAM, CHASE IT...

Hello my name is Christie and this is my baby. I fell in love with Mustangs in my late 20s and then getting my first one in 2015 which I shared with my son. A year later, he wanted his own so we traded that one in and he got his 2016 GT which he still has.

Fast forward to May 2017, I found my dream Mustang. Her name is Storm and she’s a 2013 Shelby GT500. She’s been to several car shows and cars and coffee. She’s stock as you can get for a Shelby which is a lot and the only thing I have done is lowering springs. I don’t want to change her. She’s perfect. I am 55 now so if you have a dream, chase it. It is not too late. Enjoy life to the fullest because we are not guaranteed the next day. Love life.

STEEL LEGACY - 1965 AND 2015 MUSTANGS

MEMBERS OF THE STANG MAG FAMILY ARE MORE PASSIONATE ABOUT FUN AND INCLUSION THAN THEY ARE THEIR CARS AND THAT SAYS A LOT!

IT WAS PART OF WHAT BROUGHT OUR LIVES TOGETHER...

Some people choose their cars. In my family, the Mustangs chose us.

My connection to Ford’s most iconic pony car began long before I ever held a set of keys. In 1964, my dad bought the very first Mustang released in our county - a red convertible that turned heads everywhere it went. That car wasn’t just transportation. It was a statement, a spark, the beginning of a tradition none of us realized was forming.

By the time I reached high school, the Mustang legacy had already taken root. My first car was a 1965 Mustang coupe with a 289 and a 3 speed transmission. It was simple, honest, and full of character - the kind of car that teaches you how to drive, how to wrench, and how to appreciate the sound of a small block V8 on a cool morning.

My wife was right there beside me, literally. She drove a 1966 Mustang coupe, a 6 cylinder with a 3 speed and a bench seat. Two teenagers, two classic Mustangs, and a whole lot of memories made on back roads and small town streets. Looking back, it feels like the Mustang wasn’t just part of our lives, it was part of what brought our lives together.

That history set the stage for the two Mustangs that define my story today.

MADE ME FALL IN LOVE EARLY...

Ever since I was little, Mustangs have been more than just cars to me - they’ve been part of my everyday life. Growing up around them, hearing the rumble of the engine, and watching the way people turned their heads when one drove by made me fall in love early. There’s something about the way they look, the sound, and the history behind a Mustang that just feels like home to me. It’s not just a car l like, it’s a passion that’s been built into me over time.

Building my own Mustang isn’t just about looks or performance, it’s about legacy while also representing my family and the way we’ve always shared that love for Mustangs. Buy resembling my uncle’s Mustang since he has passed, it’s become even more meaningful, but this build stands for all of us, the memories, the late nights talking cars, and the passion that runs through our family. Every detail ties back to where I come from.

RACING HAS ALWAYS BEEN ABOUT MORE THAN COMPETITION FOR ME...

My name is Tony Gaylor and this is my 1992 Mustang Hatchback called “Scarface.” It is equipped with a 427 Dart LS, 102 mm turbo, Reid powerglide transmission with pro brake, and Performance Fab 9” with 4.30 pro gear.

This car isn’t just a showpiece, it is built for the love of drag racing. This Mustang represents years of passion, late nights in the garage, and dedication to performance. It’s a fun car, but it’s also a serious street/strip build that truly reflects the heart of grassroots drag racing.

Racing has always been about more than competition for me, it’s about community, family, and the adrenaline that only a Mustang can deliver down the track.

THE ROAD AHEAD BELONGS ENTIRELY TO YOU...

This is my 2022 Mustang GT Performance Package called Remi. My Mustang passion started at a young age. The Mustang has always been more than just a car to me, it’s a feeling. The moment the engine turns over, there’s a sense of freedom and confidence that comes with it, like the road ahead belongs entirely to you. From the unmistakable rumble to the bold, timeless design, a Mustang carries a spirit that refuses to blend in. It represents independence, strength, and the courage to go your own way.

What I love most is how every Mustang tells a story. Whether it’s a quiet evening drive with the windows down or the thrill of open highway miles, each moment behind the wheel becomes a memory worth keeping. It’s not just about speed or style; it’s about passion, connection, and the way a Mustang turns ordinary drives into something unforgettable.

This is my 2018 Shelby GT350 in Kona Blue. I’ve named her St. Anger after the song from Metallica... “I want my anger to be healthy, and I want to set it free.”

Just like every time I start this engine, “I feel my world shake like an earthquake.” This pony rumbles and the world around me comes alive.

And just like in the song, “F*$k it all and no regrets..”, I have no regrets getting this Shelby. We have been on countless adventures and there is nothing better than the open road and hearing that engine roar!

A GREAT INSPIRATION TO ME...

This is my 1995 Mustang GT Convertible, 5.0 5 speed, original from Michigan with 120, 000 miles. Nicknamed “Dad’s Pony”, I inherited this Mustang from my father in 2020.

My dad bought this after he had a bad motorcycle accident at 81 years old and unfortunately only got to enjoy it for a year before he passed away.

I won 1st place for my class 94-99 at Great Lakes Stampede in Michigan in 2023 before moving to Florida. I recently won my class at Mustangs at Daytona in 2025.

My dad never got the opportunity to show it so I’m taking great pride in sharing Dad’s Pony in memory of my father.

It was my daily driver until this year. It is now licensed as an antique. I’m so grateful to be able to drive such an awesome vehicle and share about my father who was an Army Veteran and a great inspiration to me.

THIS ONE BY FAR IS MY FAVORITE...

ThIs is my 2010 Mustang GT. I am from Santa Claus, Indiana. A cool fact about this Mustang is that it has a glass roof.

This Mustang is also 1 of 1 with all the options it was built with according to the Marti Reports, including the all numbered security coded body panels it came with from the factory. It is black with the blue accents in the interior, with many options on it.

I have had a lot of Mustangs since the mid 60s and this one by far is my favorite.
