DAVIS COUNTY: Growing into the future
World War II changed Davis County forever.
The war brought new military installations to Utah, many of which had a direct impact on the county. Several of these installations occupied land in Davis County and thousands of military members and civilian workers were drawn to the area. Hill Air Force Base opened in Davis County in 1940 and by 1943 was the largest employer in Utah. In the second half of the 20th century, Davis County experienced explosive population growth, with new roads, schools and homes being constructed throughout the area.
Today, Davis County continues to be an essential part of the engine powering Utah’s economy; it is anticipated to be one of the top five counties in Utah for job growth through 2060. And the growth isn’t over; the county’s population is expected to expand by another 66% by 2060.
Past Davis County Population Growth
2025 Davis County Estimated Population: 382,554 Source:
Davis County’s ongoing economic development efforts and projects include:
FALCON HILL AEROSPACE RESEARCH PARK:

NORTHERN UTAH ECONOMIC ALLIANCE (NUEA):
NUEA is an economic development partnership between Weber and Davis counties designed to increase high-paying jobs in targeted industries. These industries include aerospace and defense, advanced manufacturing and outdoor products.
NORTHROP GRUMMAN EXPANSION:
Aerospace company Northrop Grumman, is expanding its current operation in northern Utah, with an anticipated 3,000 new jobs and a $380 million investment over the two decades.
NORTH FARMINGTON STATION:
The North Farmington Station project is a major mixed-use, transit-oriented development in Farmington that is transforming undeveloped land near Station Park, a major shopping and business center, into a live-workplay environment. The project includes building out the “infrastructure backbone” of Innovator Drive and Maker Way for a new business park, creating a hub for tech advancements and establishing a world-class Transit Oriented Community by linking the new business center to the Farmington FrontRunner Station.
THE FUTURE:
Growth is expected to continue in Davis County, with its population estimated to reach 580,155 by 2060
According to the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute, Davis County ranks among Utah’s most economically diverse. Its future economic growth will be driven by assets such as a large and well-trained workforce, Hill Air Force Base and proximity to the Salt Lake City International Airport.
Davis County’s employment is projected to increase from 193,930 in 2020 to 310,889 in 2060. Leading growth sectors include construction, professional, scientific and technical services, retail, and health care and social services.

Silicon Slopes Davis Chapter
Growing the northern Utah business community
An entrepreneur who has founded five startup companies, Ben Rollins was curious about the business landscape of Davis County when he moved here about eight years ago from Lehi, an area also known as Utah’s Silicon Slopes. His research into Davis County led him to look into how many startups in the area had received investments from venture and seed funds. What he learned was not as positive as he had hoped: most
of the startup investments in Utah were happening south of the state’s capital city, with only a few occurring in the northern part of the state.
So, Rollins did what entrepreneurs do best — he got to work on a solution.
Today, Rollins serves as committee chair for the Silicon Slopes Davis Chapter, one of several chapters that make up the broader Silicon Slopes network. Headquartered in Lehi, Silicon
Slopes is a nonprofit organization that acts as a hub for Utah’s technology community where company leaders can connect, learn and grow their businesses.
Rollins, the founder of Axo Equity in Farmington, is one of six volunteer committee members that run the Davis chapter. The group organizes four to six events each year, usually lunchtime gatherings that combine networking, learning and inspiration. Each event features

a local founder or executive who speaks about their business experiences as well as time to meet and mingle with others in the community.
The events are free and open to anyone — from early-stage founders working out of their parents’ basement to executives leading large companies.
“Our goal is to connect and learn and serve,” Rollins said. “This is for the poorest entrepreneur or the executive who’s built his or her company up to a thousand people.”
The events have featured speakers such as Becki Write, founder of Proximity, a Bountiful-based software startup transforming how candidates connect with voters. Some events are hosted by local businesses, including Revel Media Group, a digital signage company headquartered in Kaysville and founded in 2009 that has grown to 44 states across the U.S.
“We want people from all stages, all types of companies to be involved,” Rollins said. “I want people to come away feeling inspired and that they’ve learned something new from listening
to a speaker and then also to come away having made a new connection with someone who has gone through what they’re going through or is going through it at the exact same time.”
Rollins believes as people get involved in the chapter, they’ll be surprised at how much is going on in Davis County’s business community.
“There’s a lot happening here north of Salt Lake City,” he said. “I think we’re just a little more hidden and a little more quiet about it.”
Those interested in attending Silicon Slopes Davis Chapter events can sign up by going to siliconslopes.com, then clicking on the “Chapters” link and joining the Davis County regional chapter. They can also go to linkedin. com and search for “Silicon Slopes Davis County Chapter.”

AI in Davis County & Utah
What local businesses should know
By Bennett B. Borden Founder & CEO, Clarion AI Partners
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer just a futuristic idea — it’s becoming a core business tool, helping organizations streamline operations, improve decisionmaking and compete more effectively.
Utah ranks among the top states in per-capita AI usage, with companies and individuals adopting tools like ChatGPT and Anthropic’s Claude for everything from content creation to machine learning support.
This surge means opportunity — but also risk — for local businesses. Those that move thoughtfully can gain an edge, while those who wait or move forward without proper governance risk being left behind.
PRACTICAL BUSINESS APPLICATIONS
For Davis County businesses, AI offers immediate benefits:
Operational efficiency: AI can automate routine tasks such as scheduling, answering customer inquiries, forecasting inventory and generating marketing content. Retailers in nearby Salt Lake City have reported up to a 40% reduction in support tickets after implementing chatbots, freeing
employees for higher-value work.
Better decision-making: AI’s ability to quickly analyze large datasets allows businesses to see which products are moving, what marketing efforts are paying off and where supply chain risks may be. For local manufacturers, distributors and tech companies, these insights can sharpen their competitive edge.
Innovation & Growth – AI tools lower barriers to entry, allowing entrepreneurs and small teams to build and iterate faster. Some Utah entrepreneurs have launched six-figure businesses in days with AI-assisted development. As data center investment accelerates in the state, including a $2 billion AI-focused campus, opportunities to pilot and adopt cutting-edge solutions will expand.
GUARDRAILS FOR SUCCESS
Adoption should be thoughtful. Businesses must manage risks around transparency, compliance and workforce readiness: Regulation & trust: Utah’s AI Policy Act requires disclosure when generative AI is used in customer-facing interactions, and more regulations are certain to be enacted in future legislative sessions. Businesses should adopt clear internal guidelines and be

Bennett B. Borden
transparent about how AI is used. Workforce development: AI works best when employees know how to use it. Investing in training on data literacy and change management can ensure staff are comfortable and effective with these new tools.
Infrastructure & data: Good results require good data. Companies should ensure data is accurate, secure and wellorganized, with cybersecurity protections in place before scaling AI efforts.
WHY DAVIS COUNTY IS WELL-POSITIONED
Davis County’s economy — built on manufacturing, aerospace, distribution, health tech and digital

media — makes it an ideal location for AI adoption. Its proximity to Salt Lake City’s tech ecosystem, combined with strong business retention programs and workforce initiatives, positions local companies to lead. The county’s economic development office can be a valuable partner in connecting businesses with training, funding and talent pipelines.
GETTING STARTED
Businesses considering AI should take small, focused steps:
1. Audit workflows to find tasks suitable for AI optimization.
2. Pilot a small AI project (such as a chatbot or forecasting model), track results and learn before expanding.
3. Implement governance to manage risk, define who owns the data and decide how AI outputs are monitored and disclosed.
4. Leverage local partnerships with universities, chambers of commerce and AI consultants to tap into expertise and workforce development resources.
By approaching AI adoption strategically — balancing innovation with ethics, investment with training — Davis County businesses can become models for responsible, effective use of technology. Those who act early and thoughtfully will not just keep pace with change but turn AI into a lasting competitive advantage.

Davis County joins in celebrating the founding of our country
On July 4, 2026, Utahns will join the rest of the nation to commemorate and celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States — but the celebration will reach far beyond that single day.
The America250 Utah initiative — led by a commission of community members appointed by Gov. Spencer J. Cox — is bringing communities across the state together during the coming months for events and activities that promote unity, engagement and
education.
For example, Clearfield City hosted a United in Service event on Sept. 13, 2025. This service project, led by America250 Utah sister agency UServeUtah partnered with Intermountain Health, the United Service Organizations and Clearfield City, was held to support military members and their families. Some 500 comfort and activity kits were completed for military children.
Kaysville City formed the Kaysville Utah250 Committee, which is coordinating the city’s

2026 4th of July celebration with the America250 initiative.
Statewide celebration events and activities will include the following.
MUSEUM OF UTAH OPENING
For Utahns and visitors alike, one exciting aspect of the anniversary celebration is the new Museum of Utah, which will open its doors on June 27, 2026, as the gateway to the Utah State Capitol complex in Salt Lake City. The museum, which has been years in the making, will engage visitors with world-class exhibits, programming and community spaces in four permanent galleries: Becoming Utah, Building Utah, Connecting Utah and Inspiring Utah.
WALK 250
Sponsored by Zions Bank
Utahns, along with Americans across the country, have created paths to explore and survive, from seasonal migrations of the Northwestern Band of the Shoshone to pioneer trails and transcontinental railways to shoreline routes. Walk250 Utah challenges residents to walk or move 250 miles before July 2026.
Construction is ongoing of the new Museum of Utah near the Utah State Capitol. The museum will be located on the garden and first levels of the building; the upper floors will house state offices.

“THE PEN IS MIGHTIER: WRITING A REVOLUTION”
Sponsored by the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation
Inspired by the Declaration of Independence, this Utah State Capitol exhibit — which launches in January 2026 — will showcase communicators in the American Revolution. In addition, a traveling display will be exhibited across Utah, including at Layton’s Heritage Museum, through Feb. 1, 2026.
EDUCATION RESOURCES: 500 FOR OUR FUTURE
Sponsored, in part, by Daniels Fund
America250 Utah has launched a new collection of educational resources for K-12 social studies, art, and language arts teachers. Resources include lessons and activities about our nation’s founding as well as explorations of Utah’s people and places in 1776. Along with Utah Valley University’s
Center for Constitutional Studies and others, the initiative will offer professional training and resources for civics education to 500 K-12 teachers.
EXPLORING
THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE AT 250
This speaker series, presented in partnerships with Utah’s universities and colleges, is focused on America’s founding values. These conversations aim to include the full range of America’s voices in the 250th commemoration.
SERVING A COMMON CAUSE
Sponsored by Intermountain Health
The founding of our nation in 1776 was a community effort as well as a political revolution. Ordinary people came together in pursuit of a common cause: liberty, equality and the creation of a government by and
for the people. America250 Utah challenges all Utahns to honor our founding values through action and to join together in acts of service, unity and civic engagement.
AMERICA’S POTLUCK
Utah is leading a nationwide initiative, America’s Potluck, for neighborhoods to host gatherings on Sunday, July 5, 2026, to connect through a shared meal and conversation. Through this experience, communities can create connection and belonging amongst people from all walks of life and honor the freedoms we enjoy as Americans.
For more information about the items and events listed here or other America250 events in Utah, visit america250.utah.gov. For more information about the Museum of Utah, visit history.utah.gov/museum/.
The 23rd Army Band plays in front of the Utah State Capitol as part of the kickoff celebration for America250 Utah on July 1, 2025.

• Yield wisely: bikers yield to hikers; everyone yields to horses. Uphill hikers have the right of way.
• Dog etiquette: Keep dogs leashed (unless posted otherwise) and under control, and always clean up after them.
• Respect wildlife: Look from a distance — never feed or chase.
• Be courteous: Keep voices and music down, and share the path with a smile.

Antelope Island State Park
Named for the presence of pronghorn antelope on the island, Antelope Island State Park in the Great Salt Lake is a popular location for viewing wildlife and enjoying recreational activities such as biking, hiking, horseback riding and camping. With more than 28,000 acres of land, Antelope Island is the largest island in Great Salt Lake, stretching 15 miles long and about 5 miles wide. Once used as a private ranch, the island is now one of Utah’s most popular state parks, attracting more than 800,000 annual visitors.
Visitors access the island by driving across a causeway from the mainland to the island. They can
then enjoy spectacular views of the lake and island scenery from the park’s backcountry trails, stroll along sandy beaches or spend the night at one of the island’s campsites or cottages. Some of the best sunsets in Northern Utah are seen from Antelope Island, which offers an unobstructed view to the west over the Great Salt Lake. The park has also been named an official “International Dark Sky Park” by the International Dark Sky Association. Antelope Island State Park is home to the third-largest freeroaming bison herd in the country as well as mule deer, bighorn sheep, pronghorn and many other desert animals. Millions of birds
congregate along the island’s shores, offering unparalleled opportunities for birding.
The island is the perfect place to enjoy the waters of the Great Salt Lake, the largest saltwater lake in the Western Hemisphere. The salinity of the water, which is greater than the ocean, makes it easy for swimmers to float in the lake, and the calm waters make it ideal for kayaking or paddle boarding.
There are several events and activities held on the island throughout the year, including guided hikes and walks, wildlife programs, history demonstrations, music events and the annual Bison Roundup.

Outdoor Recreation
Davis offers more than 500 miles of trails that are perfect for hiking, biking, running and walking.
With a variety of paved and natural surfaces, mountain paths and lakeshore routes, there’s something for everyone — from cyclists and joggers to walkers and strollers.
Adventurers will be treated to breathtaking views of the mountains, valleys and lakes. Additionally, ATV, dirt bike and snowmobile trails can be found between Bountiful and Farmington
canyons.
During warm weather, golfers can enjoy nine public golf courses and one private course in Davis. During the winter months, Davis County offers easy access to nine renowned ski resorts, all located within an hour’s drive, making it a prime destination for skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts.
Snowbasin Resort, just a 30-minute drive from Layton, offers championship-level skiing across nearly 3,000 skiable acres with an average snowfall of 300 inches and
3,000 vertical feet.
Named the “Best in the West” by SKI Magazine, Snowbasin promises an unforgettable experience for skiers of all levels.
For more outdoor experiences, the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Wildlife Education Center at Farmington Bay serves as a gateway to the stunning Great Salt Lake wetlands. Visitors can explore exhibits about this unique habitat before venturing out on nature trails for an up-close look at the local wildlife.

Special Events
Davis is home to distinctive features like the Great Salt Lake and Hill Air Force Base, making it the site of truly one-of-a-kind events. The Great Salt Lake Bird Festival offers a chance for all ages to learn about the lake’s avian inhabitants and observe them in their natural habitats, with guided birding field trips led by local experts.
In June, Bountiful’s charming Main Street transforms into a canvas for the Bountiful Chalk Art Festival, aptly named “Magic on the Sidewalk.” Local artists create stunning chalk masterpieces, inviting the public to stroll through and admire their work. During midsummer, Antelope Island State Park hosts the Antelope by Moonlight Bike Ride, a familyfriendly, noncompetitive event that allows cyclists to traverse the island
under the glow of the full moon alongside themed activities for all ages. The summer also brings the biennial Warriors Over the Wasatch Air Show to Hill Air Force Base, attracting hundreds of thousands of attendees. This spectacular event showcases the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and features a variety of military and civilian aerial performances and ground displays. With access to hundreds of miles of scenic trails, Davis is a popular destination for ultrarunning events. Highlights include the Antelope Island Buffalo Run, one of Utah’s largest trail running races, and the Wasatch Front 100 Mile Endurance Run, which starts at East Mountain Wilderness Park in Kaysville and concludes at Soldier Hollow in Heber Valley.

Major Event Venues
While the county offers a variety of small event venues, it also has two outstanding options for larger gatherings.
Western Sports Park (WSP) is now officially open, bringing a new era of sports and recreation to the region. Spanning 55 acres, the complex boasts six full-sized fields, including a championship field with seating for 2,000 fans. Its 120,000-square-foot indoor facility features two multiuse arenas: a brand-new arena with Teraflex flooring and a refreshed multi-purpose concrete arena. Together, they can accommodate basketball, volleyball and other
tournaments while also offering quiet rooms, team spaces and a full concessions market. The doors are open, the fields are ready and the future of sports in Utah starts here.
The Davis Conference Center offers more than 70,000 square feet of premium meeting space. The sky’s the limit here as this impressive facility can host everything from weddings to business conferences and group banquets.
The center has all the amenities needed to make your event successful, including an executive chef on staff to take care of your dining desires.

TOUMAC establishes and enhances business and military relationships in order to improve the quality of life for our military members and their families.
Hill AFB is home to nearly 60 mission partners, making it the second-largest base in the Air Force in both size and population. Employing over 27,000 military, DOW civilian and contractor personnel, Hill is the largest singlesite employer in Utah, providing $11 billion in annual economic impact to the state economy.

THE BENEFITS OF TOUMAC MEMBERSHIP
TOUMAC provides forums for committee members and military leaders to meet, partner and discuss issues and concerns related to national defense. This is your chance to give back to the men and women serving our country.
The annual events TOUMAC either sponsors or is directly involved in include:

• Ogden Raptors Military Night
• Biannual Senior Military Briefings
• Warriors Over the Wasatch Air and Space Show

• And so much more!
WHAT SOME ARE SAYING
“The Salute Picnic was so much fun. My family and I loved it. I have been to so many bases and never have I seen anything even close to this level of support from the community.”
“I love TOUMAC as a vehicle within the community that drives a variety of great volunteer work and unites an impactful group of leaders that all have a desire to support our military community.”

Chamber Member Experiences
I loved the Davis Chamber’s Leadership Institute Program! It strengthened my networking and leadership skills and introduced me to incredible organizations in Davis County. Taking a break from work to connect with others was refreshing, and I’ll always remember the inspiring tours, amazing leaders and lasting friendships I made.
- Colette West, Wasatch Integrated Waste
What started as a professional development requirement quickly became an experience that has enriched my career. Leadership Institute gave me the chance to collaborate with and learn from incredible professionals in our community. I’m truly grateful for the skills gained, memories made and the growth I’ve experienced — I can’t get enough!
- Kyle Braithwaite, Common Spirit Health, Holy Cross Health Foundation
Since joining the Chamber in May 2025, I’ve built meaningful friendships, gained encouragement and even received referrals while growing my business, The Leadership Mark. I value the accountability and opportunities to connect in smaller groups. The Leadership Institute has been an incredible way to network, learn and grow as a leader, and I’ve felt a strong connection to the inspiring presenters and their insights.
- Mark Erickson, The Leadership Mark
The Board of Governors is an incredible group of Davis County leaders committed to improving the business environment. We meet bi-monthly to build relationships that strengthen our businesses and community. I encourage others to consider joining as it is a valuable opportunity to learn, grow and collaborate with local leaders.
- Gary Petersen, A+P CPAs
We are so grateful to be part of the Davis County Chamber. From our first month, we felt an incredible sense of welcome, support and camaraderie. The kindness and encouragement from Chamber leadership stood out, especially at our open house and ribbon cutting. We’re honored to belong and excited to keep growing and giving back to this amazing community.
- Resilient Life Counseling and Wellness
The Davis Chamber of Commerce has been an incredible partner to our business and community. It has connected us with local leaders, opened doors to new opportunities and kept us engaged in efforts that strengthen Davis County. We value the Chamber for its business benefits, strong sense of community and events that bring people together to celebrate local growth.
