STAMFORD COLLEGE SELECTED TO WORK WITH HOUSE OF LORDS’ ENVIRONMENT AND CLIMATE CHANGE COMMITTEE
During the programme, students from the Business Leadership and Management T Level will feed into the Committee’s current inquiry into drought preparedness and meet with committee Members in Parliament to discuss the inquiry and other environmental issues that are important to them and their community.
Baroness Sheehan, Chair of the House of Lords Environment and Climate Change Committee, said: “They will play a vital role in informing the committee on the really important issue of drought preparedness and wider environmental issues that are important to them.”

GREEN WORLD AWARDS 2026: INSPIRE EDUCATION GROUP WIN GLOBAL RECOGNITION
Inspire Education Group (IEG) has achieved international recognition by winning a Green World Environment Award in the global search for the world’s greenest countries, companies, and communities. IEG’s “A Circular Solution for Waste Management” project was entered in the Education and Training sector within the Waste Management category.
Selected from more than 500 nominations worldwide, IEG will be presented with a prestigious Green World Award trophy and certificate at a glittering presentation ceremony to be held at the iconic Cardiff Castle in Wales on 13 April 2026.

HITACHI ENERGY DELIVERS EMPLOYER-LED SESSION TO SUPPORT GREEN ENERGY SKILLS AT STAMFORD COLLEGE
IEG continues to strengthen its links with leading employers to ensure students are developing the skills needed for the future workforce, with Hitachi Energy UK recently delivering a specialist session for electrical students at Stamford College.
By working with organisations such as Hitachi Energy UK, IEG supports students to develop industry-informed skills while helping employers contribute to the future talent pipeline.

THARAKI HETTIARACHCHI WINS 2ND BEST PAPER PRIZE AT INTERNATIONAL ACADEMIC CONFERENCE
We’re incredibly proud to celebrate the success of our very own Tharaki Hettiarachchi, Construction Lecturer at Peterborough College, who had her research win “2nd Best Paper Prize” at an international academic conference.
Tharaki’s paper, “Sustainability Literacy and Stakeholder Engagement: Delivering Affordable and Sustainable Social Housing in the UK”, was presented at a conference on Smart Villages and Rural Development, organised by the Smart Villages Lab at the University of Melbourne, in collaboration with SASTRA University, in December 2025.
