JOURNALISM STUDENTS GET AN EXCLUSIVE FIRST LOOK AT WORLD’S LARGEST DINOSAUR AT PETERBOROUGH CATHEDRAL
Our very own Journalism students were among the first in the city to come faceto-face with a prehistoric giant, as the world’s largest dinosaur officially opened at Peterborough Cathedral.
Students also engaged with local residents to gauge public reaction and capture the community’s excitement, while the sheer magnitude of the full-scale Titanosaur allowed them to practise descriptive, largescale reporting on one of the world’s most impressive natural wonders.

We are proud to celebrate the international recognition of Bhagya Manjaree Hewa Siliyange, Lecturer in Science, who has been invited to present at a global Development in Action webinar this month as a Commonwealth Alumnus.

Led by Anne Buckland of ‘We Do Stories’, the workshop explored how to craft compelling award entries, from identifying key achievements to presenting clear, evidence-based narratives. Attendees also heard from Dr Mike Greene, Deputy Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, who shared insight into prestigious accolades such as the King’s Award.

PETERBOROUGH COLLEGE FIRST TEAM MAKES HISTORY WITH FLAWLESS LEAGUE TITLE WIN
Peterborough College is proud to announce that its Boys’ First Football Team has been crowned league champions for the fifth consecutive year, achieving a historic perfect season that sets a new benchmark for the College’s athletic programme.
Securing a fifth straight trophy cements the programme’s status as a powerhouse in the region. While the team has enjoyed a long run of success, this year’s squad has raised the bar by going undefeated through the entire 16-game schedule. Read more here.
STAMFORD COLLEGE BRICKLAYING STUDENTS TRADE THE CLASSROOM FOR COMMUNITY PROJECT AT LOCAL PRIMARY SCHOOL
Level 2 Bricklaying students from Stamford College stepped out of the workshop and into the community to deliver a restoration project for St George’s Primary School. The group, who are currently ahead of schedule with their qualifications, volunteered their time to carry out essential repairs to a “brick on edge” wall and to deliver and position a new garden planter for the school’s outdoor space.

COLLEGES’ NATIONAL GREEN WEEK 2026: INSPIRE EDUCATION GROUP HIGHLIGHTS SUSTAINABILITY LEADERSHIP
IEG marked the Association of Colleges’ National Green Week by showcasing how colleges are helping to tackle climate change, reduce their environmental impact, and prepare students for careers in the growing green economy.
IEG’s sustainability work was recognised nationally, winning the Sustainability Award at the 2025 Peterborough Telegraph Business Awards and a Silver Green Apple Award. The Group was also commended by Investors in the Environment for a decade of green accreditation.
