The Sacrament of Bap sm: will take place on the 4th Saturday of every month At 11:00 a.m. in Saint Michael Parish. ================================= SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE: Arrangements must be made with the pastor six months in advance in order to fulfill Diocesan requirements. Couples rather than parents or wedding coordinators should contact the church. ================================= CARE FOR THE SICK: In the occasion of an emergency call the rectory immediately. Call the rectory for a visits at home to the elderly and inform or when someone enters the hospital and wishes a visit from the parish priest. ================================= SPONSORSHIP: Sponsorship: In order to be a sponsor/godparent for Bap sm or Confirma on and receive a le er of eligibility from the Pastor, a person must be a registered member of the parish for a minimum of 6 months, at least 16 years of age, received all the Sacraments through Confirma on, a ending Mass faithfully, and Married sacramentally.
St. Thomas Aquinas comments on John 14:6 where Jesus says “I am the way, the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father but by me.”
“Christ himself is the way, and therefore he says: I am the way. This certainly is eminently right for through him we have access to the Father. Since this way is not separate from its end, but joined to it, he adds the truth and the life; thus he is himself at once both the way and the goal. In his human nature he is the way, and in his divine nature he is the goal. Therefore, speaking as man he says: I am the way; and speaking as God he adds: the truth and the life. These two words are an apt description of this goal. For this goal is the object of human desire, and a man desires two things above all. In the first place he wants to know the truth, which is peculiar to him; and secondly he wants to continue to exist, which is common to all things. Christ is the way by which we come to know truth, though he is also that truth: Lead me, O Lord, in truth, and I shall enter into your way. Christ is also the way to come to life, though he is also that life: You have made known the ways of life. Therefore, he designated the end of this way by truth and life, about which we have spoken above with reference to Christ. First, he himself is life, for life was in him; then, he is truth, because he was the light of men, and light is truth. If, then, you are looking for the way by which you should go, take Christ, because he himself is the way: This is the way; walk in it. ATENCION PARROQUIANOS EXPOSICION DEL SANTISIMO SACRAMENTO
Aquí Santo Tomás de Aquino comenta sobre Juan 14: 6 donde Jesús dice: "Yo soy el camino, la verdad y la vida; Nadie viene al Padre sino por mí ". “Cristo mismo es el camino, y por lo tanto dice: Yo soy el camino. Esto ciertamente es eminentemente correcto porque a través de él tenemos acceso al Padre.
Puesto que este camino no está separado de su fin, sino que está unido a él, añade la verdad y la vida; Así él es él mismo a la vez el camino y la meta. En su naturaleza humana es el camino, y en su naturaleza divina es la meta. Por lo tanto, hablando como hombre, él dice: Yo soy el camino; Y hablando como Dios añade: la verdad y la vida. Estas dos palabras son una descripción adecuada de este objetivo. Pues este objetivo es el objeto del deseo humano, y un hombre desea dos cosas sobre todo. En primer lugar quiere conocer la verdad que le es peculiar; Y en segundo lugar quiere seguir existiendo, lo cual es común a todas las cosas. Cristo es el camino por el cual llegamos a conocer la verdad, aunque él también es esa verdad: Conduceme, Señor, en verdad, y entraré en tu camino. Cristo es también el camino para llegar a la vida, aunque él es también esa vida: Tú has dado a conocer los caminos de la vida. Por lo tanto, él designó el final de este camino por la verdad y la vida, sobre lo cual hemos hablado arriba con referencia a Cristo. Primero, él mismo es vida, porque la vida estaba en él; Entonces, él es la verdad, porque él era la luz de los hombres, y la luz es la verdad. Si, pues, estás buscando el camino por el cual debes ir, toma a Cristo, porque él mismo es el camino: Este es el camino; Caminar en ella. Y dice Agustín: Haced al hombre vuestro camino y llegaréis a Dios. Es mejor cojear por el camino que caminar por el camino. Para un hombre que cojea en el camino, aunque sólo progrese lentamente, llega al final del camino; Pero uno que está fuera del camino, cuanto más rápidamente corre, más lejos está él de su meta.
