Journaling as a Spiritual Practice
The next Membership Coffee takes place today at 11AM in N101. Whether youāve been attending a few weeks or even a few years, we invite you to consider taking the step to saying āyesā to becoming a member of St. Lukeās.
Learn about putting your thoughts, feelings and inspirations on paper or into your computer today, 11AM-Noon in the Spiritual Life Center, or Monday, March 4, 7-8PM in the Modular Building, or Tuesday, March 5, Noon-1PM in E105.
Outreach of the Month
Under Age 50?
Each month, St. Lukeās will promote and support a different local or global partnership, giving you the opportunity to share your time, talents and/or treasure. Our March Outreach of the Month is Habitat for Humanity of Hamilton County. We are excited to help make a difference in our community and in the life of the Davis family in Westfield. St. Lukeās has made a commitment to take on the expense of the home. Each Sunday this month you will have a chance to leave your mark on the Davis home. We will have the OSB boards in the West Passage that will be used to build their home -- our goal is to get 7000 handprints. If you want to keep your hands clean, you may make a donation and place it in the offering basket (made payable to St. Lukeās with āHabitatā on the memo line) or donate at www.stlukesumc.com. Under age 50 adults are invited to bring their ponderings, their questions regarding faith and ultimate concerns and personal needs for a dialogue with other seekers. Bring your friends and join Merri Leffel on Wednesday March 6, Noon1:30PM or Friday, March 8, 5-7PM in the Spiritual Life Center. Register at www.stlukesumc.com (search āunder 50ā).
Childrenās Music Fundraiser The Chili and Mac & Cheese Cookoff is happening today from 10:30AM-12:30PM in the Great Hall. Tickets are $5/person (max $20/family) and can be purchased at the door. Enjoy the entries along with sides, salads and desserts and performances by our young singers, musicians and dancers. Proceeds benefit our Childrenās Music Program.
KidUnique Small Group Study What if our role as influential adults is to help kids discover who they really are? Thatās what youāll learn to do in a small group for four Sundays at 11AM beginning today and continuing March 10, 17 and April 7 in E102 using KidUnique by Dan Webster. Whether you are a parent, grandparent, work with children, or want to in invest in the future, youāll benefit from this study. Canāt make it today but would like to attend future groups? Indianapolis Youth Chorale Concert The dynamic Indianapolis Youth Chorale, an ensemble of talented 10th-12th grade students from the Indianapolis area, is under the direction of Cheryl West, Director of St. Lukeās New Song ensemble. They will perform in our Sanctuary on Friday, March 8 at 7PM. The concert is free.
Sowers Meeting The Sowers of St. Lukeās volunteer their time and talent to tend the Sowers Garden at the north end of the church. Gardeners are welcome to join us on Monday, March 11 at 7PM in the Parlor for a presentation on pruning by arborist Jud Scott, president of Vine and Branch. Lenten Retreat Join Terri Jump for a morning of quiet reflection, poetry, journaling, meditation and silence. Saturday, March 16, 9AMNoon in the Spiritual Life Center. Suggested reading is One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp. Register at www.stlukesumc.com (search āretreatā).
Hire a Teen/Silent Auction This annual fundraiser benefiting St. Lukeās youth, particularly for mission trips in summer 2013, will take place on March 17, 9AM-1PM in the Great Hall. The silent auction will include items donated from community companies, as well as hot items like dinners and events with St. Lukeās pastors. St. Lukeās youth will also offer babysitting, tutoring, lawn services, spring cleaning, organizing, etc. Stop by and show your support for St. Lukeās youth.
Easter Lilies Order forms are available in the church office and the Welcome Center, as well as www.stlukesumc.com. Flowers decorate the Sanctuary and can be designated in memory or honor of family and friends. Plant pick up follows the 11:15AM Easter service. To be included in the list, which will be available online as well as at the Welcome Center on Easter Sunday, orders must be received by Noon on Monday, March 25. A $10 donation per plant is appreciated.
