To recognize and honor athletes, coaches, and teams for their contributions and achievements in athletics and their service and support of the SJCI athletic programs.
Nominees must have excelled in their respective sport(s), coaching role(s), or athletic department role(s). Alumni of St. Joe's may be considered for their athletic accomplishments as athletes or coaches at the high school, college, amateur, or professional level. Non-alumni may be considered for their coaching or athletic department accomplishments within SJCI athletics.

Soccer 1, 2, 3, 4 (Capt. 3, 4)
Tennis 3
William A. Boerema '15 made a lasting impact as a four-year starter in goal for St. Joeâs soccer program. His stellar play earned him accolades such as All-MMHSAA, All-WNY, SJCI Defensive Player of the Year, and SJCI MVP. With 34 career shutouts, William was a defensive force, helping lead St. Joeâs to three MMHSAA championships. In a thrilling conclusion to his senior season, William stepped up to score the game-winning penalty kick against Canisius, securing the title. He also captained the varsity soccer team, displaying leadership on and off the field.
Continuing his soccer journey at East Stroudsburg University (ESU), William was a four-year starter in goal, playing in 65 games the ninth-most in school history. His 17 career shutouts, including a record-breaking eight in 2017, cemented his legacy at ESU. That same year, William helped lead the team to a PSAC Championship, earning PSAC Tournament MVP honors. His outstanding play also earned him 2nd Team All-PSAC, 3rd Team United Coaches AllAtlantic Region, and a .83 GAA, with 214 career saves 5th most in ESU history. He capped his collegiate career with an appearance in the NCAA D2 tournament.
Now thriving in his professional life, William is the Area Sales Manager for Zynex Medical, overseeing seven territory managers in New Jersey. He is also a member of the Professional Disc Golf Association and recently captured the 2024 New Jersey State Championship. William currently resides in Mays Landing, NJ.

Rowing 1, 2, 3, 4 (Capt. 3, 4)
Kevin M. Cotter '92 left an impressive legacy at St. Joeâs as Senior Class President and captain of both the Crew and Cross Country teams. His leadership in rowing would foreshadow a remarkable athletic career on the world stage.
At Princeton University, Kevinâs talent in rowing flourished. He won two National Championship gold medals and later coached Princetonâs Division I crew team for three years following graduation. Kevin's success extended beyond college, as he became a two-time Olympian and World Champion, earning a gold medal in rowing. He also claimed a silver medal in the World Cup, competing in prestigious events across the globe, including France, Germany, Australia, Taiwan, Austria, and England.
In addition to his 20-year career at Princetonâs Development Office, Kevinâs rowing achievements remain a defining part of his life. His dedication to the sport and global impact as an athlete continue to inspire those who follow in his footsteps.
Outside of rowing, Kevin is also an accomplished concert pianist, focusing on classical improvisation and EDM. He has released four albums, with performances at New York Cityâs Lincoln Center.

Baseball 3, 4
Henry âFredâ Falkowski â87 made his mark at St. Joeâs as a standout multi-sport athlete, excelling in football, basketball, and especially baseball. A four-year player on the diamond, Fred earned All-WNY and 1st Team All-Catholic honors, serving as team captain his senior year.
At the University of Rochester, Fredâs baseball career thrived. He played four years of Division III baseball, earning 1st Team AllConference honors twice and 1st Team All-Region. His leadership led to his election as team captain in his senior year.
Fred transitioned into coaching after college, serving as an assistant coach at the University of Rochester, head coach at SUNY Buffalo, and head coach and athletic director at Hilbert College. He later returned to St. Joeâs as the golf coach from 2019 to 2021, an experience he found especially rewarding.
In 1998, Fred joined the FBI as a special agent, focusing on counterterrorism, foreign counterintelligence, and organized crime investigations. He developed a nationally recognized program on religious radicalization and terrorism, delivering training both domestically and internationally. After retiring in 2023, Fred remains active as a baseball and softball trainer while playing in competitive menâs leagues.
A 2022 inductee into the WNY Menâs Baseball Hall of Fame, Fred is proud of his years coaching his daughter Clareâs travel softball team. He currently lives in Williamsville with his wife, Maurine, and their two daughters, Clare and Alice. He remains an avid golfer and continues his involvement in baseball.

Michael D. Fanti â99 made a significant impact during his time at St. Joeâs, excelling in varsity sports. As a senior, he led the varsity football team to an undefeated season, the first since the 1970s, and a #1 state ranking. Alongside teammate Sandro DeAngelis, Michael was recognized as one of the top two running backs in Western New York and New York State, rushing for over 1,300 yards on 110 carries and scoring 13 touchdowns in just 10 games.
On the baseball field, Michael also shone brightly. He played a crucial role in helping the varsity baseball team secure the Georgetown Cup during his junior year, finishing with a record of 144, a .500 batting average, 14 RBIs, and 8 stolen bases. In his senior year, he continued to impress, contributing to another Georgetown Cup victory with a .404 batting average, 2 home runs, 16 RBIs, and 9 stolen bases, earning All-Catholic honors.
After high school, Michael pursued a career in massage therapy, graduating from the New York Institute of Massage in 2001. Following a car accident in 2019, he returned to school, earning an associateâs degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from Villa Maria College in 2024. He plans to continue his education at Findlay College in 2025 to complete a doctorate in Physical Therapy.
Michael has worked as an electrician for over 20 years in his familyâs business and currently serves as a Physical Therapy Assistant at Elderwood Nursing Facility, while also working part-time for People Inc. and at The Garage restaurant and bar.

Andrew M. Miller '85 has strong ties to the St. Joeâs community, where he graduated and made a significant impact. A Kenmore native now residing in Amherst, he earned a degree in business administration from Daemen College. He developed valuable computer skills while working at a repair shop before joining the New Frontier Science Foundation, where he collects data for HIV and breast cancer research.
At St. Joeâs, Andrew was the varsity football manager for four years, deepening his connection to the schoolâs athletic programs. His passion for sports photography began in 2011 during a St. Joeâs football game, leading him to become the staff photographer in Fall 2019. Since then, he has captured hundreds of thousands of images of St. Joeâs athletes across all sports.
Reflecting on his time at St. Joe's, Andrew considers attending the school one of his best decisions. He fondly recalls feeling a sense of belonging during his first St. Joeâs/Canisius football game and cherishes the lasting friendships he formed.
Throughout his career, Andrew has traveled extensively, training others in data collection programs. On his induction into the hall of fame, he expresses his gratitude, stating he is still speechless and honored to be recognized for his contributions to the St. Joeâs community.
Gary R. Raimondo '99 graduated from St. Joe's in 1995 and earned his BA in Sociology and History from Columbia University in 1999. At St. Joeâs, he was a standout basketball player, earning 1st Team AllCatholic honors in both his junior and senior years. He also received Honorable Mention All-WNY and All-State in his junior year and achieved 1st Team All-WNY and 2nd Team All-State in his senior year. Additionally, he won a gold medal at the 1994 Empire State Games and was named the Tonawanda News Player of the Year, while helping lead his team to a Manhattan Cup Championship and a #1 state ranking.
While at Columbia, Gary was a four-year letter-winner on the Ivy League basketball team, serving as captain in his junior and senior seasons. He finished his collegiate career as the fourth-leading scorer in school history and the all-time leader in steals.
After graduation, Gary began a successful 25-year career on Wall Street in sales and trading at various institutions. He started as a trader at Gerard Klauer Mattison, later leading the TMT group at Banc of America Securities and running the Institutional Equity Desk at Wells Fargo for 14 years.
Recently, Gary and his family returned to Western New York, where he is currently a Managing Director at BTIG, dividing his time between Buffalo and New York City. He resides in Williamsville, NY, with his wife, Alicia, and their four children: Madeline, Vivian, Evelyn, and Gary III.
