HELLO! The Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) was born in 1979 - the orchestra first started playing music 40 years ago! We have many musicians. Some play string instruments (like violin and cello), wind instruments (like flute and trumpet) and percussion (like drums and cymbals). At the orchestra, we want to make beautiful music that will touch your heart and make your life more colourful. The SSO usually plays in a concert hall like this one you’re sitting in. But we want to show everyone how beautiful classical music is, so sometimes we have concerts in schools near your home. Sometimes we even play in the Botanic Gardens you can have a picnic while listening to the music! Our big concerts are held at the Esplanade Concert Hall - the giant durian! That’s a big concert hall that can fit 1,800 people. But when we want to play small pieces of chamber music or when we play fun music for everybody or for families like yours, we will come back to the beautiful Victoria Concert Hall, our beloved Home of the SSO.

Mr. Ledbetter is well-known in Singapore as an experienced and entertaining educator and performer. He has hosted concert presentations for numerous musical organisations, including the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, The Philharmonic Orchestra, The Philharmonic Winds, The Philharmonic Winds Percussion Ensemble and Re:Mix, and has hosted events for the SSO, Singapore Press Holdings, and STADA. The Straits Times has described him as ‘that master of Masters of Ceremony’ and ‘An unexpected voice in music education.’

Jason Mills is a drummer, producer, composer, engineer, studio owner, and teacher who has been living and working in New York City for the last 21 years. Originally from Loudoun County, VA, he was hired in 1995 to be part of the (then-brand new) NYC cast of the Off-Broadway show STOMP, and has worked on and off with the show ever since in its lead role. In addition to thousands of shows at the Orpheum Theater in NYC, he has visited 12 countries on 5 continents with STOMP, and stars in the DVD version of the stage show: “STOMP Live”.

As an actor, Mr. Ledbetter has been seen on Channel 5’s ‘The Best That I Could Be’, and ‘Catch of the Day’.

Other highlights included a 1996 performance on the 68th Academy Awards, countless TV appearances worldwide, and the privilege of musically directing and choreographing STOMP's 2013 performance of “Cecilia” alongside Paul Simon on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon”, which made Fallon’s “Best of Musical Performances”.

On the Singapore stage he has appeared in: ‘Upstairs in the Sky’ (SRT Little Company), ‘Take Me Out’ (TG Productions), The Tempest, Macbeth, and Much Ado About Nothing (Singapore Repertory Theatre), Romeo and Juliet (Singapore Dance Theatre), and Shakespeare on Love (Wessex Theatre), where his performance was described as ‘excellent’ by The Straits Times. He has voiced the character ‘Dominic’ for the second season of Inspired Media’s ‘Stowaways’ series. Mr. Ledbetter’s original verse can be heard on the 2012 Singapore Symphony Orchestra recording of ‘Carnival of the Animals’. William’s professional qualifications include a Bachelor of Music from the Oberlin Conservatory, Acting certification from the National Shakespeare Conservatory, a Master’s degree in Drama Education from the National Institute of Education, and ACTA certification from WSQ.

Since 1998, Jason has helped to run STOMP auditions and trained dozens of new cast members. In addition to his work with STOMP, Jason is always an award-winning writer, producer, and artist. He has provided original music for the Atlantic Theater Company’s Off-Broadway production of “Scarcity”, written by Lucy Thurber and starring Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Johnston. Jason currently performs regularly with The Dan Band, Sasha Dobson, Candice Anitra, and Giants Are Small’s production of “Peter And The Wolf In Hollywood”, for which he provided “Live Sound Effects (Foley) Sound Design”.
