AUGUST 2024, Week beginning august 26

As summer draws to a close and the back-to-school season begins, I wanted to take a moment to reach out and share a few thoughts. For many of us, this time of year can be bittersweet. Personally, I have always cherished the summer months spent with my kids— though, admittedly, not every moment was perfect! The start of the school year, however, brings a sense of structure and routine that we all appreciate. It’s a time for our children to reconnect with friends, teachers, and teammates, and to embrace the opportunities that come with a new academic year. Over the coming month, we will be focusing on critical topics related to school health and safety. Our updates will cover important areas such as bullying prevention, COVID-19 guidelines, and safety measures for school athletes. We know that this is a particularly busy time for all of you as you support children, teenagers, and their families. Your dedication and hard work are truly appreciated. As we dive into this busy season, please remember to take care of yourselves as well. Your well-being is just as important as the care you provide to your patients. If there are specific topics you would like us to address or any information you feel would be valuable for us to share, please reach out to Amanda at ED@VAAAP.org. We’re here to support you in every way we can. “Be the change you wish to see in this world.” ~Gandhi
