The Greenways/ Open Space Committee held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, June 10 dedicating the grand opening of the new FerryGage Trail, as well as the East River Cut to the main loop in the Meridian Woods. For many an outdoor lover, it’s been a long time comin’. The new Ferry-Gage Trail replaces the time-worn path that many a kid who grew up on Grosse Ile traversed and ventured into the great wilderness bounded by the Thorofare Canal, Island Boulevard, East River, and Ferry Roads.
